Hey, so a few friends and I started up a YouTube channel, and any advice on how to make the channel fun and how to get some subscribers easier would be greatly appreciated!
So I thought it'd be a good idea to have a storyline, and this is our basic storyline. We consider ourselves "the Dragons of Minecraft", because our group names are "ShadowDragon". "LordDragondust" and "GreenDragon". Although I haven't gone really deep into that, we do plan to do a RP series later on after we figure that out.
If anyone knows where to post a summary about our YouTube channel, I'd love to know! That would help us out a lot.
Alright! First off, I'm a sucker for group Minecraft channels like yours, and I really think with experience and dedication this channel might "sell". I've been YouTubing for a few months now, but my family practically revolves around it and I've learned enough to at least give credible advice. So here I go:
Storyline:
Gotta say, I'm a sucker for Let's Play (Minecraft) storylines. Honestly, if you guys kept grinding and dedicated yourselves to YouTube, you'll definitely be growing in the near future. Which leads me to my next point: Growth.
Growth:
Many a YouTubers will falter out after seeing their videos gain 0 to no views. It's not like you'll wake up and see 1,000,000 subscribers fall to your knees. I mean look at TheIronMango. His videos gained barely 20 views when he started in 2014, and now he has two channels almost at 100k subs EACH! It's all about sticking tough and staying dedicated to your dreams! I know it sucks, heck, I'm barely getting recognition/views on my videos yet at the end of the day I'm still gonna make videos! Don't give up!
Now for some tips:
Question A): What will make the series fun?
You guys right now rock. In my eyes, new YouTubers like yourselves performing like that have a chance to really succeed. However, you should add become fluent with editing software (Sony Vegas PRO, Final Cut Pro X, etc.). Editing is a big key in succeeding in the YouTubing market. There's hundreds of tips out there, so you might have better luck googling it!
Question B): How Do I Grow?
It's what we all want, right? To grow! BUT DON'T SPAM OR SUB4SUB! I can't stress this enough. It will only make your channel look bad, but can also lead to inactivity which was something my brother struggled with until he found his niche. Try collabing with other YouTubers your size, maybe try other games once in a while, and always look for the hottest trends on YouTube and post a video about/tag it in one of your videos. If you're looking to YouTube in the long run, I suggest getting better equipment. Your quality wasn't bad, but other people are going to be in the market for videos w/ 2440p4k and the AT2020 microphones rather than the good ol' 1080p.
In the long run, I love the channel guys! With hard work, a bit of knowledge, and dedication. I feel your channel will take off. If I didn't mention something you'd like to hear, PM me please! I will answer within an hour or two.
Thanks for the tips man, When it comes to Sub4Sub, we decided originally to keep away from the SUB4SUB ideas anyway. The idea of better equipment seems far away, but I'm sure that if we decide to go further into this we'll look into it.
Also, we actually just started up our own SkyBlock series, so we're already looking into Let's Plays!
