Couple of things to check. Make sure you are actually recording the sound. Make sure that when you editing the video that the sound plays in your editor. After you edit and render the video check and see if the sound plays on the base file. Also make sure you are uploading a video and audio codec recommended by youtube.
Thank you and thank you. I found out what the problem was but not how to fix it. OBS records audeo in a format not recognized by youtube or for that matter even wmm. I tried opening in wmm and it said it was the wrong file format and so would not open it. My question now is how can I convert it to something that wmm will recognize?
Audacity is your best bet. I haven't recorded with obs before but check the settings there may be an option to change the audio codec to something else that recognized in your editing software and by youtube.
I thought that audacity only worked with audio files? or do you mean I must rip the audio from it first? because if that is the case then while I can take the audio from the file I have no way to add it back to the file without use of wmm and as I have said the original file is not saved in the right format.
With audacity you basically drag the video file over into Audacity and it separates the audio from the video for you. Then you edit the audio to remove background noises and such then you can export the audio into several different formats. I export all my audio as .flac as it is a compressed audio file that keeps good quality. As far as movie maker I would strongly suggest you use a different program to edit your videos. If you are on a budget look into wondershare video editor i think it runs $50 or so but movie maker should be fine for starting out you will just need to figure out which audio files can be imported into it and make sure you can put the audio on top of the video before you render.
Well what I think I will do is record using OBS but just remove the audio recording completely. I think you can export the file in OBS somehow . . .
and I will use audacity to record the audio then combine the two using wmm. Yeah I know wmm gets a bad rap but I am jobless at the moment and very close to being homeless (I'll spare you the life story) so wmm will have to do for now.
Audacity only records your voice nothing else. And I am sorry to hear about that I know times are hard on a lot of people, best of luck to you in life and youtube.
What am I doing wrong. I don't get why It has sound when played offline from the file but youtube it has none? how even. . .
