For the last 2 years I've been doing a Let's Play with some of my friends on a server called Ultra-Crafters. I want to know what I can do to make it more interesting? I've been doing time-lapses, adding music, and jump cuts so it doesn't get boring, but is there any way to keep the Let's Play genre alive? I like making content, but recently I think its become very generik (get it?) so if anyone has any ideas about to make the series better please suggest them down below. You can always add a little twist to the series for example right now I am doing a new SMP survival series with a few twists meaning I have made an RPG feeling to the server so people can level up their skills and complete quests whilst still keeping the survival aspect!

But don't to afraid of not being original because the majority of the time you can't be original on YouTube and it all depends on the quality that you deliver to your videos. Since everyone loves a good survival series that is why it is one of the most popular series on YouTube!

Thank you MrSilentPray for help, the current theme of Ultra-Crafters is community and trying to build together, so maybe my channel's theme could be a mix of giant builds, timelapses, and commentary.

I'd say you have pretty good commentary/energy. Thats pretty important. Presentation wise though.. Just going by episode 4. Probably should spend less time in the creative world talking about what you're going to be doing, and actually do it in the server itself.. .especially if were going to see it all anyway. Could of easily dedicated an entire episode to each section. Now when episode 5 rolls around (just saying 5 as an example), you don't have anything planned.. you'll say "heres my castle" - that we already saw. What else you got?

It may sound kind of harsh (and I'm seriously not trying to be mean here) but that's how it works. And unless it's a special "behind the scenes" episode or something where a creator is taking you into the world of "what could of been" .. there's really no purpose to spoiling your own content.

As far as being "original" .. don't. People don't really like original as much as you think they do. People like something they can interface with. My videos, for example.... the most successful thing I have is my Minecraft Disneyland build.. despite having a series of a server that I run and do videos in regularly.. Minecraft Disneyland brings in the views because people are generally curious about that stuff. If you have a good personality, and talking and being friendly is your thing, you don't need to worry about being "original" .. be yourself. Be concise, and take care in your presentation and you're set.

Thanks for the advice! As far as being orignal goes I did decide to drop Survival Games as something I record because it has become stale and I no longer feel exictment in recording it.
