I think something people like is when you talk about yourself and your life rather than just the game.
Also, I think it helps to be on a server where you can interact with other YouTubers, have occasional co-comms, and build relations with these sorts of people. Basically being with YouTubers will help you build YouTuber skills. If you are interested, message me.
Thanks for all your advice! I definitely need to work harder on my building, be more confident and funny, and talk about myself more. I wish I could change the way I talk easier!!
As for collabs, I do play with other people quite a lot, I only put a single player video up so I can get some advice on my own speaking.
Any other advice would be appreciated!! Plus how I can sound more natural or add a bit of humour in my speaking, because I constantly find myself out of words. Thanks!

Being natural comes from speaking fluently and sounding like you blend in with the game.
The humor part is a bit hard. When your trying to use it in video games, humor has to come from unscripted events, I.E: When something goes wrong, When you get in trouble, When you find yourself in a situation in which you could make a clever joke.
You could study this:
Or just try thinking of ways you could incorporate an event or skill or /something/ into humor. Think about your video a little bit before actually making it.
Off topic: Been watching some of your videos, and I'm thinking about putting a formal request for a collaboration.

I was thinking about it, and I have another questions for you guys out there who have a loyal fan base. How do you keep your subs engaged?
I think it's really hard to get loyal subs. Some people don't have too many subs but all their subs are super involved and love them. On the other hand, people with a lot of subs might not get many who care about them at all. Does that make any sense?
So can anyone give me tips on how to keep my subs engaged and involved?
I made a sub appreciation event for my channel in hopes to get my subs involved. Do you think it'll work well? How do I do better?

I browsed through a few of your videos and actually really enjoyed your commentary! You mixed up observations about the game (immersion) with humor and your own special sense of "you" while you talked. I found listening to you to be really enjoyable! You definitely have some great potential in there!
I'd agree with what people have said before - let the confidence come out! Even if you are faking it, when you're confident and let the nervousness melt away then that sense of uncertainty and hesitation disappears too.
Also what may really help is making sure you are constantly bringing the viewer's attention back to the "goal" that you have in your videos, even if that goal changes frequently. That way you always seem to have a plan, something to do, you're bringing the viewer along for a clearly defined adventure and you two aren't just wandering around in a forest poking trees. Now you're wandering around poking trees because you're exploring, because you're getting wood to build a barn for your sky cow, because... and so on.
As far as engaging subs goes... Well, I'm not too entirely certain, but I talk with a ton of the people who watch my videos every day, so I hope my advice is somewhat helpful! Basically, I take the time to reply to nearly every comment I get in my videos, send out links to downloads or just nice notes to people via PM occasionally, talk to people on Twitter just to exchange niceties... Basically, every small way that you can reach out and be nice to someone, do it!
The way that you stop every now and then and say, "Thank you so much!" in sub videos is really great, too, because its a great way to show people you care about them and you're thankful for their time and interactions with you.

My sub appreciation video:
Sometimes it can be hard, but there are a few things that you can do.
1. Talk with the subs to see what they want.
2. Pretend your interacting with your subs in solo videos
3. One thing you already did, play with your fans.
Sub-Appreation: It worked well enough to get me on board, so I wouldn't worry too much.
Seri: Thank you so much for your detailed advice! I already thanked you personally but... I just want to know how much I appreciate all your help. I'll continue to work hard at it like you did!
McTime: Hehe I'm glad you're enjoying my videos, super excited to play with you soon!
Thanks everyone!

So I've been making Minecraft let's plays for 2 months now, and I feel like I'm a horrible, HORRIBLE commentator when I watch other people's videos!
Could I get some tips on how to speak better and be more entertaining? ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED!!
Here's a sample of my commentary (I'm using a singleplayer video so you get a sense of how I talk, but I DO collab with others on my channel too):
Free Flight (singleplayer) modded let's play series: Ep. 9 CHICK MULTIPLICATION
Thank you all in advance! :3

Obivous example of a person not wanting to do much work. From an actual viewpoint however......
Keep the texture pack, people don't really like default.
Commentating really varies from lets play to lets play. This lets play, your doing perfect.
TIPS
-------------------
1. Be more confident
2. Be more loud. (not screaming, just assertive)
3. Humor is a plus. Try adding it at some places.
I would also like to see how you commentate on collabs.
