So here is the story.
I have been making videos for some time now.
Yet my adience only seems to shrink.
It would be nice if one of you would take the time to give some feedback.
I really want to improve my channel.
There might be a prize for the best one.
Thanks for helping me out.
....youtube channel is Dutcherproductions....might be usefull xD
Alright So here some real quick observations Ive notice off the bat.
1- Your videos are way too long, When starting a channel mainly videogames, keep them around 5-10 min.
10 min is even pushing it.
2- Your Kickstarter lacks what is necessary to grab the viewers. A kick starter should be a video that empowers your channel showing the Funny/Hardcore/All Around Things you can bring to the community. You can tell them all the things you do but if you dont have an edge that defines you, you wont see any results
3- It seems that you record for long extended periods of time, then go straight to editing them, then begin to release mass episodes/parts of the series when you have little view from the first episode.
4- Just skipping around through several of your videos you do have the fight, but at times you get involved into the game and stop talking yes talking is a must.
5- One thing to keep in mind with gaming channels, You wont ever be like who you watch ever! Im not putting you down but you cant jump right in a say hey Im gonna be the next yogscast. Instead "Im gonna be the next Dutcher"
6- When also starting a channel, most audiences search for what they want to watch. Not just another person doing minecraft. The safest bet would of been playing rogue legacy or other poplular games that would draw in a crowd and amuse them through that series and let their curiosity of what else does the youtuber do. Then attack with minecraft.
7- Originality (self explanatory)
8- Addition to your other series besides minecraft you ask the viewers to tell you if they want more. Probably should of asked if they want more minecraft. You need to flexible with your genres. Too much of a good thing is always bad.
9- Dont expect to be a partner withing your first year of the channel. It usually takes more youtubers of gaming depending of what they limit themselves to about 3 years of building and maintaining an audience.
There is alot more but I dont want to chew your ear off, In retrospect this is a very light briefing of what you need to work on. I myself was once a partner 6 years strong 100k subs and was on a neverending trek on the youtube bandwagon. Some event in my life had altered my experience I.E. Being hacked and all videos being taken down, House being broken into and all my equipment stolen. But enough about that. This is some advice I wish I had when I first started, and honestly you going about this channel just like I did.
Well I hope this doesnt discourage you, thats not what its meant for. You do have heart and if you do some changes and keep up the work and effort I can see some major progress from you. I will go ahead and subscribe and keep an eye on you and give you additional feedback as you progress. Thats what my Edge was, being at the status where I was and took unknown youtubers just starting and throw them into an audience. Showing my audience that there are others trying to achieve the dream.
One final thing......DONT MAKE VIDEOS TO BE FAMOUS OR MAKE MONEY IF SO YOUR WORK WILL SHOW.
Do it because you have fun playing games, love entertaining people, placing smiles on peoples faces.
Dont allow money and fame fool you. Besides the pay is no better than a minimum wage job unless your 1 mil sub youtuber. Even then.
Well I think that should give you a good footing, Best Wishes
Just read through it all and I must say that this is the first time someone has given me true advice, I really appreciate you not putting it to nicely since that can make someone like me not realize it.
This is probably what I'm going to do(no idea why I am saying it, but what the hell)
-Really wake up before recording
-Make a sort of script for a new kickstarter
-and the hardest one of them all....STOP WORRYING
I again really want to thank you, I think this might really help, toast to the next Dutcher I say xD
ah I got ya, Well man just make some alterations, and I usually dont because im retired (Might come back) If you would like some one on one, need a partner for some lp in the future just let me know and or add me on skype. I cant promise me being of frequently but I can give you as much help as I can
