I just started my first Youtube channel almost 2 weeks ago, and I just want some advice on my videos and how to get more viewers!
I got really great feedback from 3 people so far, so thanks! Now my videos have better cuts, less background noise, and less "ummms" and "liiiikes" (I hope!)
I would love to get more feedback and advice on my videos so I can continue to improve!
My name is xSnowstep, Youtuber currently sitting at 1k subs! Modded survival, FTB, SMP, mod reviews, art etc: http://www.youtube.com/xSnowstep Snowy Graphics | Speed Art for Chibis, Avatars, Channel Art, & More
That sounds like a good idea! I'm already planning to do a collab with a good friend of mine, so that's gonna be fun. Anyone else have any tips for me? I really want to improve on my video editing & commentary! Thanks!

Thumbnails have really helped to advertise my videos, You are great at keeping things exiting and entertaining, your cuts are very well timed and your intro looks pretty. I agree with cole, Collabs can be a great way to gain subscribers, but make sure you are trying to do something unique with your videos (there's enough Minecraft Lets Plays...)
Thank you so much!! Hmmm what kind of videos would people find unique? It seems like everything's been done before and I'm fresh out of ideas! D: Interesting new adventure maps, maybe? Or go into the route of mod reviews?
And I'll definitely start working on thumbnails! Just finished all my exams so I'll have some time to do that soon.

Omg that's such a good idea, thanks!! I'd probably only be able to do that a long ways down the line though. Can anyone else give me some advice on my editing and commentary? Thanks!

I want to do something for Christmas, does anyone have any ideas for a short holiday video?

Okay at least I made a proper Minecraft display picture now! Will be working on thumbnails and banner soon. Just wondering, what kind of Minecraft videos do most people like to watch? Hmm tutorials and mod reviews? I'm currently only doing let's plays because I'm not knowledgeable enough.

I have the same feeling, but the best way to do Mod Reviews properly is learn from mistakes. Basically record it, watch back. If you forgot something, record again and attach it onto the video. And be sure to put in the website to the mod page. But I haven't done any yet, so that's all I can say.

Its more about how you present your videos and not what the video is about, just try and be yourself because nobody else can! If you can enjoy making your videos and not cringe when you watch them then you are doing something right
Thank you all so much for your advice!!! I think I'm definitely going to try mod reviews & playing mini games with some friends! Will try my best to sound natural and be myself in my videos, but I need to learn to get rid of my nerves! D:
Started a collab with a friend of mine, and you're right, it does sound better talking to someone else! ^^ (Link if you want to see: )
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and thank you again! <3

Ahh I wish I knew how to do a lot of redstone work so I could make tutorials! Those seem to get tons of views on most people's channels. Do people normally post creations they've made or do they learn from someone else and then make a video from that?

I would say a bit of both, there's a couple of ways to make the same thing. Maybe you could do some mod reviews instead, they are generally pretty popular. If you had an installation tutorial at the end of the review people will watch for a longer amount of time. The % of time people watch your video for goes towards your videos rank in the search engine
+ if you could get a mod author to put your video up with his/her mod you would get a heap of traffic!
OMG that's such a great idea!! (The installation tutorial at the end of the video thing)
Thank you so much, I totally didn't know about the search engine trick!
Do people just usually look around for new/interesting mods to do reviews on from forums? Or do people normally only do reviews for really good mods and not all new mods? I could never figure out how people find such interesting mods to do reviews for!

Best bet is probably just camping the mod forums/bukkit plugins forums
It's a bit of a rat race really..I'll throw you a bone whispers: Feed the beast has released 2 new modpacks, hardly any videos on them at all
