Here's a problem that I have been running in for the past couple of months: I can't be funny. What's up? I don't know. I tried being myself, tried copying other's, and created personalities in order to be funny somehow, but that never works!
I mean, I either swear too much, not swear enough, talk too much random crap that doesn't pertain to the video, get angry... how does one be funny?? I even asked some people on other forums to check out my videos. guess what? Not funny, except for the fact that I got so many dislikes, just hilarious! I crap my pants how hilarious that is.
Alright guys, give me your input, how does one be at least moderately funny?
Here are some of my videos, currently not many Minecraft related ones, but I want to make one, but I need a partner. The problem with finding a partner is that they'll tell me I'm unfunny and to f**k off! Also leave some likes if you like a lil' of the video, that would really help.
Well I hope to see your "res ponces" (see, even auto-correct is funnier) guys!!

Honestly, you're still just learning how to commentate... the trick is not to 'force it', but instead just practice - develop your voice over time. It takes time and patience, most of the big, and high-quality, youtubers have spent years developing their speaking ability for this (go watch the early videos of most good youtubers, and you'll notice they had the same problems, they just stuck with it because they enjoyed it).
My only advice for what could really use improving: vary your voice a bit more (not to cartoony levels, but just to give it a bit more 'passion' to show you're enjoying it) - and - for PR purposes, it's usually best to focus on the games (whether it's the game at hand or a comparable game - relating facts/information about the games is always a good source of material to comment on) - it's usually bad PR to compare yourself to other youtubers openly unless prompted to do so. (Personal taste on youtubers has no impact on whether viewers enjoy your content or not, but it can impact the amount of trolls/dislikes/likes/etc. you get)

Sir, you have just given me an overview on how to commentate, not be funny.
Also, to add onto Alzorath, the BEST thing to do is to not be so concerned about "winning" if it's a winning-based game. Failure is funny, however at the same time don't try to fail. I love to point out the best failure ever, but the most funniest commentator I've seen, and my most favorite, UberHaxorNova. His idiocy (no harm to him! I love James!) with puzzles creates comments and hilarious moments. His failure at Minecraft is also quite hilarious.
My advice is to not be so concerned if you die, however raging is a must. Even if you aren't too angry, Get rowdy! If you're going to rage, rage hard. Nobody wants to hear a half-assed rage scream. They want a real loud, good, rage scream. Flip ! Raging is key to success in being funny.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, you must know what is funny. Something that is funny, defined, is something that you previously did not know, but in a more funny manner. For example, noticing those small details nobody else pays attention to, Nova also does this, he notices I'd never notice, and then says something funny about it. Use your imagination - for example, if something looks weird, think of an odd thing. "That looks like a fooking peanut. What the hell, is that supposed to be a peanut?" (fooking because the other word isn't allowed -.-)
EDIT: You are more than welcome to add me on Skype - Zontafer
to be funny is either to find amusement in the immature or mature within seriouse situtations, such as a 4th degree blackbelt kicking a peice of paper and failing. or using a change in the tone or pitch in your voice to create humor, also im up for helping you out with your videos im a really quirky guy.

See, this is where we get edgy, I believe there is a big drop off between people who enjoy watching others fail at a game and othere's who don't.

A great joke delivered poorly, will not go over well. A crap joke delivered exceptionally, will usually get laughs.
Learning to commentate will help you get more comfortable, and allow your natural humor come through... Pushing it and faking it, will tend to set off the 'bull**** meters' of all but the youngest or unperceptive viewers.
My goal was to give you advice on how to grow your channel - which seems to be part of your concerns in the videos... and likely one of the reasons you're seeking to inject humor? Wasn't meant to be offensive or frustrating for you.
As the comic relief in a few lets plays, I've learned a few things.
One, that failure is absolutely hilarious if done well and not on purpose. If you do something like, "hey, let's fall into a ravine so I can try to generate laughs" it's gonna suck. But if you're like "hey guys I kinda fell into a ravine and- oh wait never mind, I'm dead" it's hilarious.
Two, someone said it before but I may be able to elaborate. Crap jokes that are well-executed are much funnier than good jokes that are badly executed. Don't push for the joke because pushing it immediately stops the humor. Also, use a little immaturity, but not too much. Swearing is only really needed when you do something stupid, too much and you sound like a 10 year old with Tourette's. And nobody wants to sit though that. It's like, "Hi, I'm [insert name here] and today we're gonna be playing S**TB***HF***INGC**KWITHABOWLOFSTEAMINGP**S". Also one more thing, laugh at yourself a little, because it's contagious and people will start to see the humor. but again, don't take it too far or you sound like Witch Hazel. *shudder*
Finally, if you need to ask people how to be funny, then you aren't naturally funny. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but being funny isn't your strong suit and there isn't really much you can do. IT comes naturally to some people, and not to others. Don't sweat it though. People still enjoy serious lets plays too.
