I've been working on an LP series for the last couple of weeks called "Mojo vs Wild". I've taken a slightly different approach to most of the audio only commentaries out there and presented the content a bit differently. I have reviewed the sticky threads in this forum section and I'm confident I manage most of the guidelines well.
The quandary I'm dealing with is knowing when and what to cut out. Obviously, watching someone mine for 10 minutes is absurd but what about building an XP farm or expanding the design and layout of your home? I see these things handled in different ways and I'm uncertain as to how "Mojo vs Wild" might apply these rules.
The options appear to be:
1 - Do design and layout off-camera
2 - Fast-forward the repetitive work
3 - Do everything in real time
It seems there are areas where each of these are beneficial. I had a conversation with a subscriber who does not play the game. He said that seeing everything happen makes them feel like they aren't missing anything since he is basically playing the game "through me" if that makes sense. So option 3 with option 2 as a possibility makes sense for him. I also had a similar conversation with a subscriber who is an advanced player and they prefer option 1.
I need to understand what option works well enough for my approach. I'd like to know how you guys have handled this issue in your vids and what you think about the success of the approach.
Below are a few episodes from the "Mojo vs Wild" LP as well as a link to the entire playlist. I appreciate any and all feedback, critique, comments, and criticism. Thanks guys.
Just wanted to compliment you on your videos, I'd watch them.
Personally, I like it when the person fast forwards through the repetitive work, idea number 2 in this case, as I tend to close out a video when it becomes a drab to watch.
Additionally, I think you should look into getting a companion to play alongside you.

Thanks for the feedback! I will give option 2 a shot in a future video and see if that resolves some of the issues I see. I'm like you. I will close out a video when it becomes too slow so its probably pretty fair to say that most do the same.
