I just uploaded my first Let's Play video to YouTube and immediately got the following notice: Your video may include the following copyrighted content:
Visual content administered by:
BMVEntertainment
The video contains nothing except minecraft play and my own commentary. No extra music, or sound effects, etc. Is BMV Entertainment related to Mojang in any way?
I want to dispute the claim but my only options for doing that are either to claim that I own all the copyrights (which isn't true as Mojang presumably owns some or all of the content of the vidcaps), or that I have written permission, or it falls under fair use, etc, none of which I know to be true.
So the first step is to find out if BMV Entertainment's claim has an validity. Anyone ever hear of them? A Google search doesn't show any relationship to minecraft.
I don't know man i got the same thing today when i uploaded a tutorial video and i have done a google search as well so my recomendation is email or phone youtube and hope they can tell you what the copy right is
It's just someone trying to make money off of your videos, same thing happened to me except from some unheard of music group, I claimed all copyrights and my video is monetized and has been for about a month no problems. You should be fine.
I wrote Mojang, asking about whether BMV Enterainment has any rights to Minecraft visuals or is acting as an agent for them in any way and got back the following response:
No they are not and you are fine doing what you are doing.
Short, sweet and to the point. I love Mojang. I want to have all their babies.

What I did was chose the option that says "I believe this copyright claim is invalid."
Same thing just happened to one of my videos. Unfortunately when you file a claim, YouTube disables monetization on your account for all videos temporarily. What a royal pain in the ass this is.
EDIT: Letting everyone know that it only took about 1 hour total for BMVEntertainment to review my dispute and release their copyright claim on my video. All videos are back to being monetized...

and i Disputed it with, My use of the content meets the legal requirements for fair use or fair dealing under applicable copyright laws. lets hope that it worked!

So the BMV Entertainment claims are bogus.
The ContentID software does some weird stuff sometimes.
Just contest it. Apperently, this seems to happen a lot, and they know, when you politely state such.
