Hi, i am going to start making minecraft youtube videos. Its going to be my first time making videos. Can someone help me? how do i act? do i need a intro animation? what do i need? This is my channel currently:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaN9SRKXZbE3fEm1ak8aMKA
I need help finding a intro animation and channel art.
Thanks, skinnieboy101
what screen recorder should i use, OBS, cam studio, fraps, action, bandicam, or dxtory. I prefer it to be free. thanks
How do i act? However you like. Just don't be obnoxious, or otherwise intentionally off-putting to the audience and you'll do fine.
Do i need a intro animation? Not really, a simple quick intro layer over your video's beginning is well good enough. Just needs to say who you are, really.
What do i need? A decent enough PC to record, recording software, a mic that doesn't sound like GladOS through the potato (doesn't need to be perfect), games to play, and determination.
For screen capture, it depends on your specs.
If you've got an Nvidia GPU, I'd suggest shadowplay (Never used it, as I'm AMD, but i hear it's good).
Or, you can use OBS. It's the best free recorder/streamer I've found, and it works fantastically. Takes a bit of fiddling to work just perfectly, but it's great.
Other software you may need is...
A video editor: Hitfilm 3 Express is the best free editor I've found. It's got loads of features, and is very easy to use. Leaps above *shudders* Windows Movie maker
An audio editor/recorder: Don't record your mic audio with OBS. Like, really. Don't. You need it as a seperate track, so you can edit out white noise/coughs/sneezes/siblings/etc. Those things are signs of an amateur YouTuber. I highly suggest Audacity. It's got everything you'd need and then some, and it's free. I use it for all my commentary in my videos, and I can easily edit out my coughs and such (allergic to everything), and white noise such as fans.
A picture editor: You may not need this at the beginning, but simple thumbnails can show that you put effort into your videos before people even watch them. I suggest Gimp. Free, (somewhat) easy to use, and with everything you'd need.
If you need help with any of this software (I use all of it), I'd be happy to help you.

Problem with that is that it's the icon for an already established Youtuber named Grapeapplesauce.
You can use this as a temporary substitute (or permanent), it's avatar maker and you can customize it however you like.
I've never worked with Vegas, but I presume it's similar to what I use.
Import your gameplay video into the timeline.
Then, save your Audacity commentary audio to an MP3 (you need to install FFMpeg and Lame Codecs, google it)
Drag and drop (or import) that .mp3 to the timeline, and sync it up to your video.
What I do for this is, at the beginning of my video (that gets cut out), I just say "Syncing on options in 1, 2, 3", and at 3 I click on the options button, or whatever I'm using. That gives you a point of reference. Then, in Vegas, just match up when you said "3" to when you clicked the button, and bam, your audio is synced.
Make whatever edits you wish to the video.
To add your intro, just drag and drop (or again, import) the intro video to the beginning of the timeline.

I am a youtuber with 185 subscribers right now I recommend using full version Fraps (you can find a free downlaod online somewhere but be careful of hackers and viruses), I make free GFX (graphics, like outros, thumbnails, and stuff so you can check out my channela nd fill out the form for that if you wish.) OBS is good for streams but they are less likely to be watched until you gain more fame. I would try to get some friends or make online friends do do collabs with because being by yourself is boring. I would make sure you have a good mic and interesting but not too long (or spell wrong like one of your videos already) video title Any other questions just ask me
I watched the video you put out a couple days ago just now.
Video quality seems very good, 1080p60 is great for YouTube.
Mic quality was alright, though the occasional pops can be off-putting to viewers (especially headphone users). I suggest you edit them out where you can in audacity (Select the "pop" area, click into "Generate" at the top menue, select silence, hit ok. It silences it)
Also, something I've learned is that youtube viewers have very short attention spans. Things like you trying to figure out why it was glitching and going into the menues can, again, be off-putting to a viewer and cause them not to finish the video.
This is why we edit. Realistically, you should edit out anything that doesn't need to be in the video. Anything you wouldn't watch in someone elses video.
If you'd like an example, I have a couple of streams on my channel, which is in my signature. Those videos were streams, and 100% unedited. That's why at the beginning, there's like 5 minutes of me and my friend getting our stuff to work, and why sometimes we weren't actually playing.
That's stuff that you'd want to cut out in a video (but people expect it in a stream; No post processing time!)
And if you intend to do let's plays, again, keep only good content. If you're doing a hard parkour map, cut out any fails/attempts where you didn't do/say anything funny, or didn't add to the video. Only show the viewers what they came there to see.
With a lot of editing, I could easily condense one of my 1+hr streams into around a 30min video of highlights, as a lot of it was just running back and forth, and banter.

ok, thanks but what do i do when i am done editing the video? do i have to render it?
Yes, once you go to export it, it will render. Export at the same quality and around the same bitrate at which you recorded.
