The nearly completed exterior against the setting moon. Note that this is the original 1914 configuration - the Aquitania was upgraded in the 20s, moving the bridge a deck higher.
The Ship Beautiful is not quite done, but I do have a big picture update for those who have been following. I've spent more time on Aquitania than any of my previous ships, but I thought it worth it to put extra time into capturing as much of her magnificence as I could.

I hope to have the whole ship finished soon and up for download.
I've finished the Aquitania, but I am adding a centerpiece to my shipyard - the Harland and Wolff Drawing Office, where the Olympic and Titanic were designed. I plan to have displays dedicated to each ship with some information about each.
I kinda feel like the shipbuilding community on here is dead, but I'm still at work. I build these ships out of historical interest, because it allows me to get to know each ship inside and out - and interesting history about each ship. I'll keep building as long as I have the time and historic ships to find interest in.
Currently, I'm working on the RMS Queen Mary, and as you can see, even partially built, it dwarfs my previous project, the RMS Aquitania:
Well it certainly looks wonderful, I think the problem is there's only so many ships that can be built without much effort. too few are willing to put the effort in.
Good to see there is still some interest. With a ship the size of the QM, it does take a lot of effort. It's taken me months to get to this point, and will probably take another couple months to finish. But I'd rather take the time for detail rather than rush it out.
I've just built SMS Hindenburg. Krupp cemented steel isn't very flammable!
Aquitania's looking lovely. She definitely deserved the 'Ship Beautiful' nickname. Looking forward to the finished product.
It's been a over a month since an update, but I am still at it. I've been busy enjoying the summer, but work has been progressing:

Completed exterior. Still have a lot of interior furnishing to do, but she is well on her way.

I am pleased to announce that a new download is up with the completed RMS Aquitania.
Wow! These are really cool!
<Click me! It only takes a few seconds!
I'm taking a break for shipbuilding for right now, but when I start again, I am thinking my next project will be the Queen Mary.
Thanks. Appreciate the support.
That is like crazy good!! I don't dare try to attempt such a feat. Great work!

Another hull is coming together. Say hello to the future RMS Queen Mary.
To reduce the clutter of this thread, I've opted to put the RMS Queen Mary in her own separate build log: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-discussion/creative-mode/2571956-rms-queen-mary-build-log
Are these built in survival or creative mode? Supremely impressive either way.
These are in creative. Survival would have taken an absurd amount of time to obtain resources.
