This is my first post and I decided to show off this new house I built. It is inspired by the early renaissance tudor style houses and I tried some new with the roof. I decided to make a thatch roof (A roof covering made with straw, palms, reeds or other natural growths. Just in case you didn't know:P) by making it out of hay bales to give it a more renaissance look. Hope you like it!:D
As far as I'm aware (source: architecture student), thatch roofing was not at all a common roofing material in the early Renaissance (late 1300s-early 1400s). Most roofs were made of terracotta and other stone tiling, if they had large pitched roofs at all. Aside from that it's a pretty neat little build.
