Heh. On a road community I go to, I recently Americanized (English units and US MUTCD standards) an Ontario sign.
Granted, Canadian signing standards are similar to the US, but they feature more symbols due to its bilingual state.
As far as big green signs, I'm going to put mapped textures on those; however, I'm not sure if I should do it Caltrans style or externally with the exit numbers on tabs above the main rectangle.
Caltrans (California):
Vanilla US MUTCD:
Washington, Illinois, Utah and Georgia also use internal exit tabs (albeit in a different way).
WSDOT (Washington State):
I really like the Pratt Truss sign bridge design Caltrans uses on their gantries as well as the Warren Box Truss design that ODOT (Oregon) uses that I use on most of my sign mock-ups that aren't California (see Vanilla US MUTCD example as well as the Ontario example). Unfortunately, Minecraft is rather limited, so I decided to stick with a simple steel frame design that Chicago uses.
I really dig Florida's triangular pratt truss design as well, but alas. Minecraft.
Got some more screenshots. I've focused on making a beach area on the island as well, so I've developed some apartments and office buildings along a beach and pier that I made.
Culvert. The topography of the area would allude to an occasional water stream during storms, so culverts are necessary to reroute water so the road doesn't turn into a ford.
Electronic VMS (virtual message sign) with a much larger gantry to supports its load. A future set of modern HVAC lines can be seen to the right.
Cable-stay bridge.
HOV entrance to I-69. I still need to make the HOV signs.
Waterfront with office tower, apartments and a greenway between the road and the beach.
Traffic light from off-ramp.
Another VMS.
Emergency Vehicle turn-around with traffic camera for upcoming major intersection (bottleneck).
Here's the initial stages of a 4-level stack interchange with another intersection to boot. Originally, the other intersection was going to be a Parclo A4, but other buildings were put in place, so I had to modify existing ROW for another custom interchange.
This is great! It reminds me so much of SimCity, GTA 5, and the film RoboCop. Keep up the great work.
If you don't mind me asking... Why RoboCop?

Here's a shot with a cell phone tower in the Southern Landing of the Lake Indiana Southern crossing.
Here's a proof of concept on making Big Green Guide Signs on maps. It's a little tricky to grid them, especially since I just used PowerPoint to make the sign graphics and GIMP to do some re-scaling. Professionally, sign designers use CorelDRAW, since it's vector-based and allows scripting for more efficient and consistent production of signs.
I also extruded the bottom of the cantilever approach to the cable-stay span. (The NB span hasn't been changed yet in this screenshot below)
Attempted to make some electronic tolling gantries. RFID tolling has been around for a while, but some newer toll roads also allow for 'Pay By Mail', which snaps pictures of license plates and sends a bill to the registered owner of the car. Electronic tolling usually uses a microwave sensor to transmit and recieve radio data to the RFID tag. Cameras are used and lights are used to take the pictures. In Minecraft, it's a bit hard to accurately replicate this, but quartz is supposed to be the sensor, levers are cameras, flower pots are lights, and ironbars are structural support for the electronics. There's also a router on the gantry, but I haven't figured out what to use yet.
Here's some miscellaneous road signs. Some of the road signs are custom, using accurate typefaces that is defined by the United States' Manual of Uniform Traffic Control (MUTCD). Some were ripped directly from Wikipedia, which were ripped directly from the MUTCD (fair use, blah blah blah).
I would like to offer you something, Sir Kekdot...Me and you share a common building style, aside from your amazing roadwork. I've noticed in these pictures destructive environments and cityscapes. I myself work in these environments in Minecraft. I would like to showcase you some of my projects to see if you would be willing to have a collaboration, if you are interested in this here is some information.

Hope you take this into consideration, it has taken me ages to find someone who shares common style in building as me.
Cheers, Zoom.
Note the cat-eye reflectors now on the road. Interstate highways are about 14' wide, so I made the lanes 4.5 blocks (center line counts as half of a meter) wide. I finally strung the power lines between some transmission line towers I built a long time ago.
Some object markers for a guardrail for a culvert. Topographical surveying would indicate waterflow could build up here.
Here's a sidestreet on the other side of the ridge with some 13.5kV transmission lines with a wirespan mast-arm for some cobrahead HPS streetlights. The 550kV transmission lines can be seen in the distance.

Love the streetlights. Remind me of the older 1930's-era streetights on the QEW that Ontario has been thoughtful to preserve.
OMG It is really great, i see you have a lot of creativity, courage and desire to do all this, but, you think open a server with that map? I ask because this very good and I really want to explore your world, greetings!
You sir, deserve a cookie for such awesome roads. I see they even conform to AASHTO standards in all ways possible in MC too. I literally just signed up on this forum just to say this xD.
Question: are you working three block wide lanes or four block wide?

Approach to I-80 from I-69.
On-ramp to I-69 underneath the approach for I-80.
Different angle of the picture above this one. Note the shorter light post to accommodate a clearance for the ramp.
Railroad complication.
The tracks.

One of the images of a highway, reminded me of one of the scenes in the 2014 movie. Don't want to spoil it at all.

At the very beginning of making some construction sites.
