No but seriously it's great to know that you still have at least some interest in this project. I know that I look forward to updates on this thread still.
Very cool, even if I am partial to big village / city builds. I like the tight and clean layout of the city and how it all fits very seamlessly together. Well done.

Keep on keeping on!
When Earth has crumbled to dust, the Sun seems like a faint blip far in the past, and the last atoms in existence are zooming away from each other, never to meet again, I'll still be here, probably procrastinating like usual. Just a PC floating in space, Stevie Wonder out of the speakers, and me with a mug of Ribena, still endlessly placing block after block for no real reason.
Kind of an announcement here!
On a more serious note, though, I haven't touched Whiteark since about November or December. It's not been scrapped or anything, more just waiting for me to find enough want to build something. It still comes to mind most days, and as before, I can't think of anything which would make me actually abandon Whiteark... it's just been idle. The idea to update older areas and then release a download is still on, but barely any progress has actually been made. I was pretty ill between September and January too, which really didn't help. I've got a plan, though!
See, with 1.9 being released soon, I looked into it a bit more. First reaction was being woefully disappointed. Longest wait for an update in Minecraft's history and the result is almost completely useless to me, seeing as I don't actually play Minecraft at all, I only build in it. The dragon heads will be nice for ornamental use, but otherwise... I mean, I guess beetroot is worth having as a new crop to plant... and grass paths, I can probably find a use for them... but the rest of it? Honestly, 1.9 is set to be by far the worst update I've ever seen in terms of stuff for building. If 1.8 had been a month or two ago, then it wouldn't be so bad... but after eighteen months? I'm not even disappointed anymore. Just resigned to how boring it'll be.
But there's a bright side to everything! With the arrival of 1.9, I will begin a brand new challenge I've set myself...
The Oh-God-My-Eyes Challenge!
I have decided that, in tribute to this "amazing new update", I will build, in Whiteark, a structure of some kind, using as few non-1.9 blocks as possible. And not just a nondescript 5x5 shack, either, but something at least somewhat notable; it won't be hidden away. I'll be building a proper structure, as best as I can, and I'll be trying my damnedest to make it fit in.

Still makes me smile when I get comments like this. Tight, clean and seamless are all adjectives I aim for!

Expect it to be very purple.
That will be - quite a challenge! Purple and dragon heads in the mostly neutral and somewhat rundown city of Whiteark. I'm interested to see the result. You should be able to get a lively discussion post in Reddit with it when it's done.
I got an email telling me to merge my account here so I thought I'd check in and say "I'm not dead" to anyone who notices and still cares.
Believe it or not, Whiteark is actually still ongoing and is nearly 6 years old now, but progress has been very slow since around 2016. Life moved on. Something I probably never mentioned before was that I was seriously ill between around 2010-2016, to the point that I couldn't do much more than sit upright at my desk a lot of the time. I barely knew how to speak. Since then I've completely recovered, so my old project to pass the time while I was sick, it's fallen by the wayside.
Maybe I'll update the OP someday after all, maybe not. I don't know. But I still don't plan on stopping completely.
Wow as always. Wish I could boat down that canal.
Geographicraft (formerly Climate Control) - Control climate, ocean, and land sizes; stop chunk walls; put modded biomes into Default worlds, and more!
RTG plus - All the beautiful terrain of RTG, plus varied and beautiful trees and forests.
Is it just me or are the alleyway door arches perfectly round?
But the build looks amazing.
Amazing work OP, Amazing.
As in these?
Those are part of the 3D models addon to the Conquest texture pack: http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/conquest-3d-model-pack-addon/
Many thanks!
I'm glad you are still alive! hehehe.

The scale is amazing! I probably wouldn't have the patience to follow through with a city of that scale.

Well, this is a blast from the past.
