When Gloom starts talking ships my eyes glaze over because he tends to lose me about two sentences in. However, the ships look pretty stellar in their new home!

I plan to sketch a few new ship designs for Dunwall today, stay tuned

Discipline, Pride, and Courage. A dangerous combination.
There are so many posts about a shipbuilder's guild/war between shipbuilders that I won't even bother quoting all of them, but, suffice it to say, that, should there ever be such a battle, MrBeasty would win by default, since his ships are really the only ones that can fire.

If I refitted the Endeavour with guns, as MrBeasty once did with his 1.5 cannon design, it would probably win. 140 guns, broadside equivalent to a third rate's total, would probably crush most opposition.
Even better is that my ships are about 30 minutes of work from being useless lugs to deadly, long-range murderers when using the cannon plugin And they would still look spiffy.
It'd be fun to mix our ships, fit some with TNT cannons and fitting others with cannon plugin guns and hammering away at each other. Problem is that cannonballs don't blow huge holes in ships, they usually splinter a fair-sized hole and bound around the deck, but can even just bounce off at extreme range. Not to mention the nature of a speeding ball makes a stern shot the best thing to happen, but Minecraft doesn't cater to ship physics
Going to start on the Constitution's sister ship, the President today. I decided on the President over the Constitution because of its rig:
The Constitution and its sister ships were designed to fly a ridiculous amount of sails. All masts had space for skysails, which were considered fantastic by the British. They also flew mizzen gaff topsails, which are above the rearmost sail. Despite their equal rig, the President was said to be faster then the Constitution's splendid 14.5 knots. Maybe it was because the British captured it...

An update on the President, with CLOSED gunports! I don't think I have seen many, if any ships with their ports closed. the Admiralty Report even made an article on it:
I do actually plan to have opened ports when I release the ship properly, but that is after I work out how to build said ports without stuffing up my color scheme. Anyway, here:
On a similar note, this class of frigate (44 guns) will be the workhorse of the Gristol Navy, the thingamajig that secured Dunwall's power. I said I'd make sailing ships for Dunwall, and Gloom never goes back on a promise

Should have it in the water soon, then expect videos on both the Constitution (President) and the Dutchman from out esteemed MrBeasty127. If you haven't checked out his work, look him up on Youtube. Or spend an eternity in my crew.
You said that the Surprise was a fictional ship. The Surprise was in fact a real ship, but most of the missions in which she sails in the books are fictional.

Ooh really love the Flying Dutchman, great job on the bow and the sails. But correct me if I'm wrong, should the bowsprit be that long?
Anyway can't wait to see it in the water.
Give or take, it's about accurate. I needed it longer because of the stays

Whoever's in charge of keeping those sails clean and in good repair ought to be flogged!
He should be.
I think Davy Jones never really cared, same with the Black Pearl. He just went faster anyway. Maybe because the Dutchman was part nuclear submarine...

Ah, yes, you're right!
Thank you!
