Well, I've been at it for 2 months now. However, I only play on weekends at night, and I also play on a survival world, so I would estimate it took around 20 hours...(though I'm not really sure)
Oh my goodness!!! And I was all excited about my 4 story log cabin. Excuse me while I slump back into my ghetto forest shack. lol
This is absolutely amazing! I do hope you release it, I would love to play it.
Actually, I haven't used any mods (mainly because I don't really know how to use them). And I've only used mcedit recently to flatten the area under the city.
This is magnificent. Really, great work. Massive nostalgia trip right here - I miss FFVII :'(
Thank you very much! I know what you feel, I really feel happy and proud when I successfully recreate a place from FF7, it's my favorite game, and has the best storyline I've seen so far.
Sorry guys, its been a while since the last update because I haven't found much time to play recently... Though the train network is almost complete, only some parts and the junctions (still have to put all the redstone circuits) are unfinished. I will post some pictures up as soon as I can. I also started working on the upper 10 floors of the Shinra Building.
Here are the pics of the train system I promised, even though its incomplete.
There's a crapload of redstone I still have to put for the junctions, but I don't feel like doing it now...
I've never played any FF games so I can't really relate to the lore of this, but nevertheless that giant mechanic thing in the middle is just beautiful! It must have taken some serious trial and error, hats of to You sir! Keep it up!
This is beautiful You have succeeded in making an object in Minecraft that doesn't look super blocky. The Shinra Building is simply gorgeous.
Thank you, everyone!
I myself am quite fond of the Shinra Building, though I'm a bit disappointed I had to cut it short. Currently working on the top floors of the tower. But seriously, all the credit goes to Squaresoft for having designed a simply amazing and unique structure like the Shinra Building, and a wonderful and magnificent city like Midgar. Now if only this thread caught SquareEnix' attention and convinced them to remake FFVII with better graphics......
If anyone wants to check out a fully built Midgar from Aegis Gaming check out this tutorial -->
Though I appreciate your help, I am only relying on in-game images and videos to build my version of Midgar. And I would also appreciate it if you didn't advertise other people's builds in this thread.

And yes, I will try to learn how to upload a release once I'm finished.

I was lazy this time and only hand made 2 reactors (1 straight, 1 diagonal), then I copy pasted for the other 6 using mcedit.
Edit: I added the image of the Shinra shop, had forgotten it before. Sorry!
