Had this world since Alpha, around the original Halloween update. When I found this mountain in Alpha it was had a huge hollow area in the front (Where the bay window/living room is) and a lava fall coming out the top of the mountain next to another big hole before the top of the mountain. (This other hole becoming the bedroom) Round the back, a single block width of water came out the side of the mountain. I had an idea to build a level floor round the front half-way up in the hollow, behind the lava fall, and round the back wanted to build a room directly below the waterfall (Widened over time of course) so that there was no glass needed, a water-window you could see through. And those were my two premises for building there.
Currently I am doing a "Re-generation" improving areas inside and outside my mountain home, open plan living new ideas all the time to improve things. I have had this world just over two years now and never tire of it.
Texture pack = painterly.
*Leads down to portal room via a piston wall entrance, and the mob area at the bottom; and the very core of the mountain whre you find lava pools.
*This extension from the front room , having knocked through a wall, is a work in progress with furnishing, will have book cases a small office desk & chair, maybe a few sofas to look out the window over the ocean and it's bridge.
Just of the living room we go down to the storage room, a small general items storage room was here before it was knocked through creating a new way down. (Door was in the living room)
In recent months an old cave has been transformed into a science/brewing lab, the mouth of the cave above became a galley for the incinerator and infinite water, a lever to the old cave which is now a science lab with working nether wart farm.Work in Progress:
*Work started on the ceiling, after lights were added.
*Will be changing decor to match old lab with stone slab walls.Brand new "Hazzadous Area" for creating potions. To be completed.
Originally started as an "In-wall" cauldron, but figured it needed it's own room. This room will be a future storage room for potions:
Back to the front room and off the landing down to storage there's also the dining room across the lobby:
*Only the new kitchen to finish in the dining room, not originally there.Another room of the living room, before the extension leads to the bedroom:
*The kitchen was been taken down recently, was being renovated) as it wasn't working for me. As you can see by the stairs leading down, there's a big gap there now.
Corridor off the front room:
the library: (Needs renovating too)
There's also an art gallery but I've been forever transforming the old cobblestone walls to something nice, but I can't decide on a final look, so it has been omitted from this gallery.14th Nov -I may swap these rooms over, medium sized art gallery where the library is and a grand library where the art gallery is. That is a big project however...Also off the corridor is the viewing room with water window:
*This has just been redecorated with more blue wool (Light blue), but possibly a new floor and a more nautical fishy theme. Also upstairs is the rear lounge:
*The door by the ladder leads down a new set of stairs into that extension, walls down in process of beingare now decorated.
Off the bedroom en-suite bathroom the VIP room over looking the pool and small tennis court complete with changing rooms:
Other areas:
The new tavern after being completetly knocked down and re-built:
Farms:
*Potatoe and carrot farm reverted to two seperate rooms of different light values for mushrooms, potatoe carrot farm now follows on from this room:
*Formerly potatoe/carrot farm.
Before going the other direction, to the right of the bridge on my side of land, far back from the back of the mountain, the swimming pool area and past the freaky floating lava fall is the Halfway House. (Unfurnished):
*In the past this was halfway to another huge area of land with snow and infinite burning forest. Unfortunately this world got accidentally deleted - twice, so that area of land re-generated and was no more. Pity I loved that area and used to have a cemetery there too; so this was house was halfway between my current home and there.
Currently the rail cart system goes on a long length of wood planks across the ocean, to the left side of the bridge. This is being changed however and I am currently tunneling underwater for the new glass tunnel:
Across the bridge:
*New double path down to the bridge to accomodate for the new underwater tunnel for the minecart system. Stairs down the middle gown down to the minecart, the two either side back down to the bridge. All stairs awaiting to be turned into stone-brick stairs.Mount DOOOOoooom:
*A big stone wall will go around it for a future project and every cobble/dirt block making the fort, will be solid stone.
Behind that place and across the ocean, is a shrine to the first ever house I built on the first ever Minecraft sever I joined, where it cannot be harmed.
It is more aesthetic than the original however. So that's my home, there are many, many more pictures but if that seems like a lot, I took a hell of a lot more recently, those are the highlights. Any questions, comments, thoughts or opinions welcome.

Wow, that's amazing... (I miss old terrain!!)
I wish I kept my very first world! xP
Your world looks awesome, and it's very impressive. And Alpha... wow! I started at the beginning of Beta 1.7.3! At least I still got to experience old terrain... heh. Again, looks awesome.

Thanks. The great thing about having an old world is that every bit inside or out has a memory or bit of history, like the corner in the downstairs corridor. Originally there was just a hole and a bit of a cave there (As the whole thing's inside a mountain), and where I mined my initial resources. So every bit, every place has a bit of history and a memory.
It's come a long way from this:
*in this photo I had screwed around with the lava too much and had to replace it with water temporarily as I had no access to lava pools yet.

Man I wish I still had my original Alpha world. I bet it would have ended up like yours if I hadn't lost it. Stupid Toshiba laptop. Now I really miss my old cave system, and my mountain house, and my backyard forest. GAH the nostalgia just hit me like a train. Diamonds for you good sir!
That is awesome. I started to play Minecraft a bit before the Halloween Update too.
The good old days. I remember my first world too. It was quite awesome. I had a little house, a HUGE bridge, a massive underground complex and a massive underwater complex. I used to know every block of my world.
Just amazing how you just kept going and never gave up? You should try starting a new would, but have a new theme. Try to make something medieval or even a modern city. The fact I love MOST about this post, is the fact that you are very screenshot heavy. I like that in a screenshot forum. (:
Oh, and AMAZING world, the problem I have is I start a world, get bored and delete it. I wish I wouldn't do it.
One of the things that has pushed me this year is the creative copy of the world I made. I was close to stopping this world (And I have got plenty of others), but then I did a "What if". I made a copy of the world turned it to creative, it was a "What if I had unlimited resources?". Funny thing is it through up many practical solutions like finally finding a way to bring the stairs to the bedroom inside rather than the outside. Now I use that world to test new buildings, designs and decorations before doing it for legit in this world.
I have knocked down the old kennel on the corner, originally I wanted to just re-decorate, then had ideas for piston powered plank doors, then glass block piston doors, but because of the location there was no room to hide al the redstone and repeaters, which is why I decided to move it. It's a work in progress but the kennel is now off the corner, and just a few inches round the corner in the mountain:
Although it wasn't in the original plan, at the back on the right, there's a small stairs-case up into the extension so it can be accessed from the main house. Originally there was going to be an enchantment corner there, but I may have to go back to my original idea of having a brand new room for it.
I'll also post any progress on the new tavern when there's some.

Wow, this is great. I started playing minecraft a few weeks after 1.0 came out, and am terrible at saving worlds. (Oldest world is from June 2012. Im going to begin a new world that will last for a while)
The new kennel (taken off the corner to a few yards round the corner, now in the mountain) is almost done:
*Yes we have a fake modern fireplace, i did try a lit one but there was a bit of an accident when lighting it.. The purple wool floor was fine, but totally forgot about the overhead wooden ceiling/front room extension floor.) Whole thing set alight - all the extension floor above! Few more pictures to add then it's done.
Bucket list to do:
*New floor for viewing room (Room with water window, recently with new blue walls half-way up)
*Continue re-building the tavern.
*Finish changing walls from cobble on new stairs ups from extension off the front room.
*Furnish extension off front room
*Finish new kitchen in dinning hall
*Continue putting stone slabs alongside gravel paths
*Finish off science lab
*New fountain outside front of mountain home
*NEW enchantment room in the former old science lab space? (Off the landing down to storage.)
LONG-TERM:
*Continue digging tunnel under the ocean for glass tunnel rail-cart relocation.
*Redecorate emergency exit route/minecart tunnel (Already sorta started)
*Renovate library/art gallery (Had an idea maybe swapping them? Library in art gallery and small art gallery where library is? Would make it more of a "Great library")?
*Finish furnishings in apartment block
*Stone wall around Mount Doom
*New replacement for main cobble bridge??
*If animals do run for cover in future updates, the farms will have to be modernized. Plans already made

NEWS:
I've taken on another adventurous project, (I keep on adding to my list) as I regenerate this world, improve buildings inside and out and rejuvenate the place. It's something I tested on my creative copy of the world and liked the idea of, but hadn't put into progress until today. That is, to very ambitiously raise the ceiling of the living room:
The plan is to raise it to the very top skylight, up from the the one you see, and possibly redecorate after swapping the sand walls for something different: With a big deep breath I slowly begun the very messy process of removing the snow-block ceiling as it was, and the stone and dirt of the mountain, moving upwards. I did ad-lib something that wasn't in the original plan though. I removed the dirt wall behind the lava fall to see how safely I could get rid it and how much. After nearly causing a lava fall inside, (I just about managed to dig down in time and put a load of dirt blocks down to catch it before it hit the wooden floor and cause potential disaster!) I had the sudden idea of putting glass up there as well so you could see the lava fall all the way up there as well.
So far I have this:
Putting glass up there was not in the spec when I tried it out on my creative copy, but I'm really please I did, I also still managed to incorporate the upside down stairs as coving into this new design.
Whilst i was up there I realized it was a really nice view:
All that's left to do now is redecorate. Had to alter some building work near the top of the mountain to allow for this work but it's all worked out so far.

I've updated the first post and replaced some pictures:
New outside shot of kennels (Without creeper damage this time!)
New living room shots with the higher ceiling
New W.I.P. shot of extension (Beginning to furnish)
New shot of upcoming kitchen (Walls and floor all done now)
New shot of bedroom (Previous had mini-kitchen still even though it had been removed)
New bathroom pics showing the change from urinal to long sink unit/working shower. (Basically a lot more pics for ye old bathroom)
New shot of viewing room with water window after decoration (Still needs new floor)
Up to the minute W.I.P. progress shot of the new tavern.
The now automated, slightly improved wheat farm (As opposed to the old flat, wading in water to harvest, one.)
New carrot/potato farm shot (Default texture pack)
You'll have to excuse any cobwebs you see as I changed the game mode to put them up being it's near Halloween. All cobwebs will be removed after Nov 5th.
