A few RL things have come up and I am "running low" on free time (for lack of better words)
I am working on the new project in whatever free time I have.
This is a list of things to come.
-------------------------------
MANY Screenshots.
A few time-lapse videos.
Finished product. (Duh)
And maybe a lets play series.

I apologize for the slowness of these recent posts but I have not given up!
Please try and keep this alive by showing friends or family!
Have them post for what they like or don't.
Thank you all!

So my girlfriend and I, (along with the ever so rare appearance of my cousin) have started a SMP server and are working on making one of those massive world builds. (Port of hambeck, etc.) And I'd just like to post a few pics of our progress.I consider myself a "decent" builder and my girlfriend is just getting started. So here we go.
*Updates are added pretty much daily!*
*Follow if you'd like and if this is worth your time give a little + *
1st Post pics Below:

The Greenhouse Project!
DAY 1:Let the teraforming begin.... DAY 2:Construction of the supports and frame for Greenhouse has begun. (Going to smooth out the land soon.)Removed the old wheat farm and made a tunnel to the Greenhouse. DAY 3:
Finally! I have completed the Greenhouse. I do apologize for the delay, to anyone who has been following this thread but I was at the Wombats concert Sunday, and my Nephew's Birthday on Saturday. Which, if you are familiar with the band The Wombats, then be jealous! Because I met them! Haha!
But without further ado. Here is the completed Greenhouse.
So I am making a Floating bio-sphere, that will be built over the water in an Ocean biome and will be partially submerged. I created this before on my old computer and if I ever go back down to my mom's house (she has the computer now) I'd post some pics of what it will look like. It is going to be MASSIVE. Not kidding. The Diameter is 101 blocks! The center of the sphere is going to be located 18 blocks above the sea level so it will look like a ball that is about 40%ish submerged in water with floating platforms inside with various things. Possibly statues. Or things that you guys suggest! Id love to do something like that. Anyways. This build will take me forever. Not only because I cant fly. But I will have to completely oblitterate a desert to obtain enough glass.
More info will be added shortly along with updates. Also thinking of doing a timelapse.
Any ideas on how to expand would be cool.Interior shots of houses, vault, farms, etc will be posted if there is enough activity on this post. Or upon request.A video tour of vault will also be added at some point if there is a good response to this video. (Honestly think its worth a look. a lot of redstone work went into it)Would love some feedback! Thanks fellow forumers!
Looks like a good start, you ought to add some vegetation around the village and maybe make a village square? The insides of the houses you could just put some decorative "chairs and tables" A few gardens to. Also maybe a bit more detail overall. Make use of the side ways logs and be creative with fences and stuff for "supports" for roofs If your not on xbox of course.
Are you in creative? Or survival?

As to your suggestions.
Vegetation: A good idea and it is in progress. I was waiting to develop the actual area completely before adding trees, flowers, grass etc.
Town Square: Also a good idea but I think that the area is a little "over developed" and a town square would either be too small, or simply clutter everything. But perhaps some re-arranging.
Decoration: I like this idea as well. But... The houses are my girlfriends builds. And she isn't quite familiarized with space management so the interiors are quite small. Ill definitely give her the ideas though.
Detail: Are you reffering to the stone brick? Because if so I agree. haha I just havent quite gotten around to adding more aesthitically pleasing details to it. Mainly because they are temporary enclosures and I just cant figure out what to do to the walls.
And finally, to the BIG question. This is all 100% legitimate survival. No mods, no "/commands", nothing. I think that it takes away from the "mine" in minecraft. I like to know that even though some builds may lack something *Special* that they were painstakingly difficult at times and actual "work" went into them. But thats just my opinion.
I completely agree with what you said, and it's totally awesome that this is all legit
And to detail I mean that.. well I guess it's hard to explain. But if your making a wood house for instance than you can do some cool stuff with fences and sideways logs along with a bunch of other stuff. I'm no pro, but here's a little example at a house I designed with a lot of detail in mind. It may not fit your city quite as well but it's an idea?
It's actually the entrance to a huge storage room I'm making for a bit of super organized mass storage for large projects.
My idea was to kinda of make it look like support logs along the sides for the side ways logs and everything else was pretty much just to make it look nice. You could do a lot of cool stuff with only stone materials as well if you work at it. And that plus the addition of vegetation will make it awesome
I completely agree with what you said, and it's totally awesome that this is all legit
Thanks! And I like the build you made. It has kind of a "fortified" look, at least thats the best I can describe it as. haha
But yeah, The houses in the village were intended to be somewhat of a jumping off point, you could say, for my girlfriends first build. I would have added a lot more detail as well lol. Take a look at the update to see the library I just finished today. the exterior is about 98% finished. But bookcases take forever! Basicly because there's not a cow in about 200 miles any direction lol so all we have is the 12 in the pens right now. (currently breeding more)
This is a little closer to the detail I prefer to add to my builds. Although there isn't quite as much as I usually put due to the fact that it's survival and resources can be a pain to get.
That looks nice, I like the little water flows you put on the sides
And I know what you mean about the cows, I'm trying to mass produce bookshelves for yet another project and it's taking forever xP Once I finally get that looting 3... And me myself am not really a "roof" builder(Sorry I'm feeling a lack of proper literature). Not that I've built very many houses lol That house in the picture was actually like one of my very first houses that wasn't just a duplicate of an npc house. I like really pointy tower roofs and crenelations or flat roofs. I just try and keep an un-modern and fantasy-ish look to my minecraft. It just seems a lot cooler to me haha
Buut nuff bout me, I'm looking forward to your next update
Haha thanks.
Yes, the new book recipe sucks. Enough said. lol
I liek your style though, its unique and I can't say I've ever seen anything like it. So kudos for that. I also like that style of building. I feel like minecraft has enough squares. Why build a modern square house? It's more challenging to build otherwise. But I won't lie sometimes it's a bit too difficult to stray too far from squares. lol
Oh, there's an "update" of an update lol It'll be here soon!
Nice! Farm looks good You sure like to use a lot of different planks.
Haha thanks. And yes I do! I hate to use one color for each project. Breaking it up with different colors adds a lot to a build. At least in my opinion. But it sure sucks materials wise.
I'm with Pure on his 1st comment about adding a square and some vegetation I know you said you don't have space for a square without it ending up to small or looking cramped but what if you instead added small gardens to the front of the existing buildings to add some colour?

Expect one today.
Hopefully of the completed greenhouse.
Check it out! Greenhouse done!

Thank you so much!
Feels good to know people are interested!
Everyone can look forward to a mini update maybe tonight if Im still awake.
Kinda dropped off the face of the earth with the BL2 release.
Haha yes!
So... no update tonight. I can barely function to type this out. lol
Ill post one first thing this morning.
