I wanted to start a thread that shows some of the fantastic worlds that the fantastic new Wedge World Generator mod can generate, and maybe even upload some saves and post them up for the people who can't seem to get this mod working. I'm probably going to be using the same world seeds for a lot of the ones I post up just to kind of showcase the different types of worlds the same seed will produce at different settings.
Please! Do not ask for troubleshooting help with the Wedge mod here! I want to keep this thread to just screenshots (and world saves).
For Example:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, here is the first one, based on the seed "Blade Runner" and I have a save here that gives you a starting point on a fully generated in-game map at the location the shots were taken from if you are interested. http://www.mediafire...a1li9mzd5kuvclo (re-upped because I changed this one to survival mode)
It's dark because there is a sky limit roof over most of the world, but it gives it an eerie, otherworldly feel, and it makes enormous caverns out of the terrain.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And here is version 2 of "Blade Runner", this one is a skylands type with lots of floating islands. It looks like a much better world to build in...if you can stop looking up that is. http://www.mediafire...4bmz156zrw0ji81

Here's one that is generated using the "i dont care" seed, it starts you out on the border of a jungle and mushroom biome, and it has some awesome overhangs and giant, smooth, underground caverns that go from the top of the map all the way to bedrock. http://www.mediafire...a6x6jmn9izxp462
All the friendly mobs seem to have spawned on the top of the map, which makes them easy to find once you get up there.

Okay, here's another "i dont care" seed map with different settings. http://www.mediafire...putk658avgg6gok

UPDATE March 14, 2012
I finally got a world to generate terrain similar to the really strange one farther down in the thread. I had a tough time getting a full map with this, it was a real memory hog that threatened to crash MC nearly the whole time. I loaded it again after shutting down MC and re-starting, and it ran much smoother. It's based on seed: 1913072760 in Expert mode, with some settings that went REALLY far into negative values, so they can't be reproduced, but fear not, here is more than enough weird terrain for you to play with. http://www.mediafire...w6cld297jsiwrjr
And some pics: ( I need some better ones, these don't do it justice.)
UPDATE Apr. 5, 2012
I really like this one, the world seed is "BRB", and it's the first one I've generated with version 0.3.0 of Wedge. There is an exposed abandoned mine at x56, z754, and it's the first one I've seen that isn't just floating above bedrock. There's a LOT of it, you don't realize how big they are until you see one above ground!
I started you out near the spawn point, and there is an awesome floating jungle in one direction, and deep ravines in the other, and as always, there is one in-game map of terrain generated.
Here's the map download link - Wedge BRB EX 1
And some pics.

And the floating Jungle:
Update 4/8/2012
This one is really amazing, I am having a hard time deciding where to build on this, there are so many amazing spots to build on. I also generated more than usual on this one because I couldn't stop exploring to see what wondrous terrain was next. Check out the jungle biome in the upper left corner of Map_0, it has the most amazing terrain feature I have ever seen, the pic doesn't do it justice. I used Easy mode to generate this one, so you could play around with the settings using the seed "-1960703098" and try to duplicate it, I think I had both sliders around .75. The file is DRATW.zip (Creative mode) or DRATW.zip (Survival mode) They are a bit bigger than the rest I have posted at 66MB.
Really? No replies at all? Can someone that downloaded one of these at least tell me if they are working for you? (I can tell they are being downloaded you know.) I'm watching you!
I too am interested in seeds for this mod, but you need to be more specific on your world generation options.
what setting did you use ? craziness scale and water level scale ?
did you leave these at default and let the seed dictate the world ?

These worlds are all ones that I generated in Expert mode by hitting Random and then Preview, and so on until I found some settings that made unique worlds I liked. The Easy mode craziness slider is meant to take just about any seed and make a smooth, functional world out of it. Expert mode gives you a lot of unusable garbage, but can also give some completely unique worlds than you can never get on Easy.
The problem with Wedge, in it's current form (0.2.2), is that Random will create settings that you can't recreate manually, for several reasons.
One, is negative values...the sliders won't go into negative values by hand, but Random can give them to you.
Two, some of the sliders jump multiple values, so you can't get exactly the number that Random might give you.
and Three, there is no easy way to share the values that you used, nor are they saved so that it will continue to generate similar terrain when you reload the game.
So, sorry, but even if I had taken the time write down 12 pages of settings (or screencapped them), they probably would not have be able to be duplicated. If Wedge evolves into a more robust mod that includes these functions, I will definitely share my settings here.
Here's a seed I generated on Random in Expert mode, I wish I could duplicate the settings on it somehow and play around with the settings to get rid of the roof, although it probably wouldn't look as cool without it. The seed for it is: 1913072760 if anyone wants to have a go at finding the random settings that made it.
If you don't have the time or the inclination to install Wedge and play with the settings, but you still want to see what all the fuss is about, this download might be for you!
This file is a complete save that is compatible with vanilla (and any modded) MC v1.2.3 - you can load it up and explore a large area measuring 1024 blocks wide by 3072 blocks long. This area is fully mapped on 3 in-game maps available in a chest next to the spawn - the revealed Wedge world area is three full maps high. Leaving this area will generate new chunks, but they will be default Minecraft 1.2.3 chunks and there will be a nasty seam. Even so, the Wedge world is quite large with many interesting features.
Installation: Extract to %appdata%/.minecraft/saves
More notes: Common ores are generated up to the full height of the map, with appropriate scaling of the rare ores to bring them up high enough for them to be found without digging down to vanilla levels (why have 256 blocks of height if you can still only find diamonds in the bottom 32?).
The land is a nice mix of natural landscapes plus some impressive overhangs and other extreme features. The settings used in Expert mode were conservative to offer a very playable and 'realistic' landscape with massive mountains, rivers, seas and all the good bits you want when surviving in MC.

The first is just mind-blowingly epic!!! O.O Do I need the mod in order to download and run the save file?
EDIT:
If so, could you post a save file for this one as well?
You don't need the mod installed to use these, they are world saves that I pre-generated by flying around. It will just generate normal chunks around these super awesome ones.
My client crashed before I got much of it generated, and I don't have the settings to reproduce it, unfortunately, but there is quite a bit to explore on foot.
Did you fly around to generate land...Or how exactly did you generate this world. Please reply
I did, and I'm pretty sure they did too. I use Zombe's Mod to fly, because you can set the flying speed to go much faster than with creative mode flying.

Thanks a bunch! Definitely gonna try playing this on legit survival…though I might have some trouble finding wood….

This is from a different jungle altogether.
Land of the Gods.
Maybe I put this in the wrong section.
what setting did you use ? craziness scale and water level scale ?
did you leave these at default and let the seed dictate the world ?
Both taken on seed 713 with crazy setting set to 796 and water scale on 5.0 (half)
And these are seed 713713, easy with crazy setting on 816 and 500 water scale (half)
Also, this plays nice with both Millenaire, and Chocolate Quest's Betterdungens mod ^_______^

That top shot looks like the old gargamel seed, doesn't it?
Nice texture pack BTW.

lol i guess i spaced on that
I am seriously thinking of downloading this Mod….
Those are pretty common, I saw several in the main wedge thread...it's not really a livable world most of the time.
Thanks, that's the idea. Some people are not skilled enough to install it either.
