Thanks man! It's working now. :3 all I need to know now is how to teleport to the different levels and how to make it online. :/
If the CA-Teleport plugin is working it should teleport you automatically when you approach the boundary. If you want an explicit teleport you can use /mvtp Azeroth+001, for example, to go to the higher altitude level. The x/z coordinate for each altitude level is the same, the only thing that is different is the y coordinate.
Truly amazing map, brings back a lot of memories (although some of the cata changes confused me :P).
I've noticed while exploring around that the buildings seem like they are all generally small and most you can't fit inside.
Would it be difficult to scale up the size of the whole map by 20-40%, so that smaller buildings like the Inns would be accessible?
I'm not likely to change the scale of the map at this point, since that will make patching very difficult. I selected a scale I thought felt right based on the relative view distance, travel time, and level of detail. Detailed interiors will have to be modified by hand, since they require creative block placement that a context-free voxelization simply cannot do.
Certain buildings (e.g. human inns) have serious problems on their interior, while others (orc structures) actually worked out fairly well. It seems that a lot of people are exploring Azeroth first and not Kalimdor, so perhaps that's why it seems like all the buildings are impassable.
Will you create a version that predates Cataclysm as well? I stopped playing some time before that, and it would be awesome to wander around Kalimdor, and really recognize the whole shabang.
I will be hosting a server with this map for a couple hours/days, JUST FOR EXPLORATION, if anyone break blocs or attempt to destroy the map, they will be banned immediatly. here's the ip: 65.92.252.52

Excuse my english, it can't be perfect since I learned french as first language. Thank you for your comprehension
I added a Pig Spawner via NEI to the world and pigs spawned fine. Although I noticed no matter what kind of spawner I added it always ended being a pig. I did see a lot of Mushroom Cows though and I'm working on getting rid of them as they mess with the whole WOW theme (IMHO)
I'm using CraftBukkit unstead of Bukkit as it seems to be more optimized for large worlds.
bukkit is craftbukkit... also the spawner thing im not familiar with nei but if its like TMI then its because its a mod and not a plugin so your only editing it on the client and not the server. also the mushrooms are spawning because in some areas it is set to be a mushroom biome
It looks great..... Now if only my computer was a super computer. I've got nowhere near enough space to freely download this, but if I could I would trust me

I am a mod on a few servers in Minecraft. If you see me in a server, be sure to say hi
This is absolutely wonderful! I stopped playing WoW a while back, but it's a true joy to just kind of wander around and smile when I recognize things. I've put a server for me and a couplie friends which haven't played WoW at all, up. I've been playing sort of tourguide, it's great. Do you ever plan to use custom blocks to make general environmental blocks fit better, by the by? Terribly sorry if this is a stupid question; and by no means something I'm asking of you, I'm just sort of curious. If not that, do you ever plan to attempt any sort of texturepack?
I added an http mirror to the main post. There were a few other mirrors linked here and on reddit and I might include those too when I have the time to go through all the posts.

Yes you are right, gave you the wrong link, I ment CraftBukkit++ so I used the wrong version, but it worked anyways. Also got it up and running with Tekkit so I get to have fancy stuff in the world like Quarries and Solar Energy...now that's definitely not WOWish.
As to the Spawners its a block that is inserted into the world that spawns a particular creature. It looks like the cages you see in Vanilla Minecraft that spawn skellies and spiders. And whether its a mod or a plugin is not really important as the item is placed on my server so it will than act as part of the server world for everyone to see. So other people that log into my server see the piggies.
Thanks for the Mushroom Cow tip, saw it was a Mushroom Biome but didn't connect the two. Silly me.

You can get fancy with teleporting but I enjoyed walking through the world to discover the various places. When I discovered then I then created my own teleport points.
Make sure you install the plugins provided as part of the download because if you don't the world will change and you will loose the footpaths that are created. As footpaths are made out of dirt they will turn into grass over time. If that happens a lot of the paths that lead to places will be lost.
To make the server online its more about configuring your router to pass through the bukkit servers port. There are plenty of guides on-line on that.

Agreed with you 100% on that point. I have all of the original Disks so I would be in a position to run the magic script against the map data I have locally.
It would be very cool to have those scripts and run them against the map ourselves. We could even tweak some of the parameters. But I know when you develop stuff like that it tends to be in a position that only the guy that developed it can run it. To get it to a point where other people can use it takes a lot of extra work to produce the documentation....and there is no fun in that.
But it would mean that you could distribute the "map conversion code" in a file thats a meg or two, not a gig or two

They are hidden by default, you might need to set yourself as an op.

he wrote a computer program to do it... if only you read the entire post.
Game designer, forum stalker.
im hosting one for exploration of the map currently 65.92.252.52

But they still spawn.
