Since i'm not sure if i've commented before, i'll do it now. I could easily make a WoW themed texture pack, and send it to you, if you want one. I have exported several WoW armor sets into minecraft before, and trust me, it's pretty fast. Also, i'd suggest the use of a few other mods to add the whole RPG feel something like the hack/mine mod, or adventurecraft would be great But a custom mod made by you would be even better.
Damn... i was going to build all of azeroth by hand and i was thinking of makeing a rpg server of it... maybe i could still do that...
I would like to start some kind of big project for a server or something... I'm going to try to recreate all of azeroth but by hand, maybe a few tips? i want to make a server out of my world of warcraft, it'll take ages not like yours... I really don't know how to go on about this..
I'm thinking about makeing it , useing some of the already made builds by other players. I would like to also somehow make everything from wow, Armours, Swrords, maybe mounts, mobs ect...
Hope your azeroth will be awesome.... i'd like to see it done
Side note: I won't use your build ( or generation ) in the server...
Super side note: I will also try to build every dungeon and every raid that is in wow... I hope i can do this..
Looks good, me and a friend of mine have actually been planning on creating the world of Azeroth and Outland with all camps and towns on it but by hand.
I didn't even know this existed till just now and we have been planning for a few days now
Still wanting to make azeroth, because i do, maybe we can try to do it and make azeroth because i've been wanting to make it in minecraft also, and make a server out of it with RPG stuff and everything!
This is the most amazing Minecraft creation I have ever seen. Seriously, I check progress on this thread every day hoping for an update on it (for example a map of Eastern Kingdoms).

Something like that will come eventually, but I'm currently tied up with a lot of work-related stuff (I'm a graduate student) so I haven't had the time to do it lately.
I've been working on a way to generate good videos; I want to have a smooth fly-over clip with a very far view distance set, but my computer actually can't handle that in-game (lol). I tried exporting the world to blender, but blender runs out of memory when I export anything other than a small section of the world.
So, the solution I've been working on is to actually render the video in multiple passes, one section of the world at a time, then combine the passes by just keeping track of the zbuffer. I'm using lwjgl, which means I can render the same way that Minecraft renders it, but just not in real time. If done right, I should be able to show the entire continent at once, meaning (in principle) the video can have an infinite view distance.
There is so much detail, its epic.
Very nice, keep up the work!
That would be amazing.

I don't have time to tweak details by hand =p
However, other people might, later this week.
I'm very excited to see this build complete!
