For those that build homes, kitchen can be a great place to store your food instead of simply in a chest. A chest amongst many chest for that matter. Since I began playing Minecraft in September 2010, this has slowly started to become a bit of an obsession with me - building really nice kitchens, it's just something I really love to do I I want to see some of yours!
here's one of my examples, in my 1.9 pre-release 5 world. It's not the best example but the theme is a modern home (Inside a mountain), which I've continued into the kitchen.
Night time (Only because I just took these shots just now after adding a fridge dispenser):
Again it's not ideal in that it's small also, i worked in the space I had. It shows though, even in the smallest space, you can still create a nice kitchen. Incidentally, I looked behind the back wall just now and I could make it bigger, but would have to drop the ceiling height by 1 block due to the bathroom that's behind & just above that wall.
So yeah, this is one of the many things I obsess about in Minecraft, I would like to see some other people's kitchens. :smile.gif:
Have you guys used the fridge idea?
It goes like this:
You have a dispenser on the floor, and a block above it. You place an iron-door on the 2 blocks, and add a button to one of the sides of the block above the dispenser. Try it out yourself!
I built a new kitchen in my mansion. It will definitely be expanded, but for now it's just this.
I'd really appreciate it if you (leengrean76) could build me a very nice kitchen for my mansion. That'd be awesome.
If you would like to see the mansion, please click here.
Any chance you could take a picture more to the left of where you were please, (Facing the kitchen) so I can see how much room there is.
Incidentally, I looked behind the back wall just now and I could make it bigger, but would have to drop the ceiling height by 1 block due to the bathroom that's behind & just above that wall.
UPDATE: I just tried this, took a few tries though. The area underneath the bathroom is 5 blocks, the actual kitchen is higher than 5 blocks, so I ended up having a ceiling that kept going up one block in wool to the original ceiling. After a bit of sorting out I found a way to conceal it whilst retaining the bathroom above:
Compared to my original in the first post of this thread that's quite alot bigger now! (With much more storage room than really needed!)
