Not meaning to advertise or anything, but I was wondering if you'd be interested in joining our server, it's creative and has World Edit so it'd be a lot like your singleplayer, and it just so happens that we're about to embark on a pirate cove timelapse video. Anyways if you're interested shoot me a PM. :wink.gif:
It's nice to see the progression from your first ship to the most recent; they're all great and far better than anything I've ever tried!
Definite +1, I hope to see some more of your growing fleet!

Thanks! I'm planning on "fixing" my first ships since I now think they are ugly, but yup, that's how I started and it has changed a lot!

I would like to join servers but unfortunately right now I don't have internet where I live. I get online when I can. :/ Hopefully in January since I'll move, I will have internet and will start exploring the multiplayer world. I would love to see that pirate cove though :smile.gif:
Hey guys, I'm new to ship building and I appreciate and take in account all your comments and recommendations to make better and more realistic looking ships. I have issues with sails, so if anyone has some recommendations on how to improve them, I'll be very glad.
No sir, you Don't.
Please tell me you either still have this custom map or remember the seed. :ohmy.gif:

Well I've been getting a bit better at sails since I spend hours experimenting and trying to make them look good. When I don't like them I tear them apart and start again. :tongue.gif:
Really loving the new ship, just one thing, it seems to be riding really low in the water, is that for any particular reason? It makes it seem less like a sea-worthy vessel and more of a river craft

And that was my plan actually, make a low small trading vessel. Didn't want to make it too big since I'm making a fleet and needed some smaller boats.
Also my plan for it was to make a coastal trading ship, which would trade with nearby countries and allies, so it does't exactly have to be that big. later on I'm making bigger ones which would be more sea worthy :smile.gif:
Looks sweet mate, although the hull doesn't look as good as normal but still way above average
Well the hull on those types of ships are not very visually appealing in my opinion. They are usually very straight and didn't had that many elevations on it. For example this is a picture of a real Ironclad of which I based to make this ship.
My only concern about the Ironclad I made is that maybe I should submerged it one or two blocks deeper in water.
Nevertheless this ship was done upon request. I'm not really too much into this pre-modern/modern type ships. I'm not very satisfied with it and I wish I could do the masts taller, but darn height limit. Thanks for the support, appreciated. :smile.gif:
I did that when I was building it, but then had to modify it to put up the schematic as probably most of the people won't lower the water height. But I still have the older version and I'm gonna play with it a bit to make it better lowering the water height.
Thanks again! And yes we should. Hope to see you soon and see what comes out of it. Also I hope you understand what I send about the sails :smile.gif:

Thanks! I wasn't sure at how they were going to come out at first, but I guess they came out pretty good :tongue.gif:
