A while back I was playing on a friends build server. During that time, I started building a village of sorts. However, that village has since been lost, but luckily I took pictures of it. Using those pictures, combined with 1.8s creative mode, I've started building a new village in single player.
The town currently contains:
- Cathedral (which should be noted that I did not design it, simply recreated it)
- Graveyard
- Tavern and inn
- Logging camp
- Mine, complete with smelter building, tool shed, and storage
- Bakery
- Forge (or blacksmith if you prefer)
- Farm complete with barn, house, and a field
- 12 Houses (so far)
- Windmill
- 2 Houses with shops underneath
- 2 Shops in 1 Building
- Well
- Gazebo near a lake
- Port with 2 Buildings
- Lighthouse
- An Ancient Sword Monument
- Town Warehouse
- Market Stalls
- A Merchant Guild Building
- Town Hall
- Library
- Fortress (Grand Hall, Kitchen, Armory, Sleeping Quarters, and a Dungeon)
- Mining Guild
- Hunting Lodge (Made inside an old outpost)
- Arena (Complete with control room, betting booths, and training rooms)
- Sewer system that reaches every part of the town
- Hidden Black Market
- Foundry
- Brick Factory
- Shipyard
- Secondary Warehouse
Planned Buildings
- Manor
- Old Castle
- Huge Oak Tree
All the buildings are connected with cobblestone paths, and most of the paths are lit. The village will eventually be surrounded by a forest, but before that, I must finish building it. My village is also connected to one of the 1.8 villages.
Oh my god! That's just... Amazing! Beautiful! :ohmy.gif:
That must have taken a lot of time to build! +1 to you sir!
Btw, what is the name of your texture pack? :tongue.gif:
@Miner95
Thank you very much, and it has taken quite a while to build so far, and I'm not even finished. The texture pack is the Painterly Pack.
@Tavostor
If only they did. Like I said, my village is connected to one of the NPC villages. There's quite the difference between the two, I can tell you that.
@Xenurus
Thank you, I look forward to seeing the feedback future updates to this will bring. I have to say, I don't mind using wool with other materials to construct buildings, but I personally think birch looks better than wool for these ones.
@Clicks
Thank you, there should be more pictures up today.
@loraxe99
I'd be willing to bet your village isn't as bad as you think it is, but thank you nonetheless.
@KangaWk
Thank you, and make some tutorials. I never thought about that. Wasn't sure how many people would like this style.
@Arcticvolcano
All my buildings are fairly large to get the details I want. That makes it a big place even though it ins't finished yet. Some of the building are indeed spread out on purpose. The port will eventually have more buildings around it, as I add homes and shops, and whatnot.
I have uploaded some new photos, which, while they add few new things to the village, they were taken using LB Photo Realism texture pack and the Water Shader Alpha mod.
@Huknar
Thank you very much. That's what I'm trying to go for, realism.
New pictures! I have to go well above the height limit in order to get a picture of the whole town layout.
Anyways, new in these pictures is a second building by the port, a town hall, 4 houses, a town warehouse (built underneath the port), and my merchant guild building.
The town hall is the building all by itself near the top of the picture. The merchant guild building is next to the market. The building features a tower out front, a hall, a small warehouse, and one small office.
@Editor22
Thank you, and I was hoping at least a few people would like those shots.
@Arcticvolcano
Would you like some closeup pictures of the cathedral?
@Exodor
The town does not have a name, so if you have any, feel free to share, and this would be a peaceful town.
@TillsterRulz
Thank you. Those are the the two structures that took the longest to build.
@Tibuda
Thank you, and I wanted the land to be flat. I thought about leaving some hills in, but decided against it in the end. Once the area is covered in trees again, it'll be hard to notice.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of it.
Keep up good work.
Live with the Creed.
You should make tutorials on how to make buildings look authentic... I think it would go a long way.
