I started with a big tree:
And the branched out (Pun intended):
Now with water!
And a bridge (some assembly required)
Here's your way out (through the trunk of the tree of course)
Only if you pull the lever:
And it's all underwater!
That is amazing. Simply amazing. Does the water actually flow into the entire spot? Or is it all blocked out with glass, or what?
The water does in fact flow in certain places. The dome itself is mostly solid with the exception of a few holes that let water in. This water along with water found in a few odd caves helps to make a few lakes/rivers on the main level look more realistic. On this level however (far underneath where everything else is) the waterfall you see if fed from an underground water source. I'll make a topic later when I'm satisfied with the underwater city :biggrin.gif:
Thanks for the wonderful feedback guys :smile.gif:
this is extremely cool, and I may have to do something similar at some point, of course with my own flavor. Of course if you must know, I've been inspired.
I also want to build something under water (Glass dome) but I'm not sure how to start. Can you give me advice how to do that, please?
Sure! I built the whole dome by hand, no MCedit or lame programs, so it takes a while. I filled in a a 66x63x12 area full of dirt, then built a glass cage around it. You then have to hollow out the glass cage (i.e. all the dirt). I burnt through several diamond/iron shovels on that. Basically the premise is, fill it all up, then dig it all out excluding the edges.
I hear that filling it up with wood as opposed to dirt works better because then you can just light it on fire and it removes it for you. I didn't have enough wood though :biggrin.gif:
Also, to get grass down, you have to build a spiral or staircase from dirt above ground, to where you want it inside your dome. Wait a few days for the grass to spread.
Why you be a minen' in me mines? If you need to contact me, a private message is the way to go. I almost never come back to a topic after I've commented on it.

Why do we have a Suggestions section if everyone shoots everyone else down? I suggest renaming it the Flame War section. Pun intended.

It's in a different part of "Atlantis"
I resent that.
However, this is a very nice build, regardless as to whether it's legit or not, the skill's all the same.
