This is skyland that I made using MCedit and Minecraft. I built an old fashioned house on it, made a river and pond. (cant see pond), put bone meal down for wild grass to make it look even sexier. check out this picture below.
Im continuing and making a Sky Town now (due to some replys), check out this screenshot!

I tried to make one legit but i lost patience with the stone layers. I don't want it to be flat but without MCedit it's annoying and hard as hell to make it look like yours.
do you have any advice for forming the bottoms of floating islands like you have, im planning on putting a few in my server and i know they wont come out that nice unless i get some help haha
you mcedit go to brush choose round or diamond make it really tall and skinny click it once or twise get a slightly shorter and fater repeat then just cut off the top half
you wont get quiet the same effect but it will still look good

you can do this legit on minecraft but it would take ages. MCEdit saves you about a week of work to like 1 hour.
How I make these floating island, I use forester (in filter section) and make trees sand (mangrove). Then go into minecraft and make the sand fall and go back into mcedit and flip them. They turn out like islands :smile.gif:
