O.O Your attention to detail is amazing. Even the small details are just awesome! I felt like I was in an Elder Scrolls game when I was checking this world out because of all the cool little side things.
Very well done. Not only the layout, but the little details are all there. I'm really in awe. Excellent job with all of it. The ship, the town, the 'undercity'. I don't think I saw anything that didn't work or didn't look right.
I actually started a medieval town when I first started playing as a kind of "How to build nice things" tutorial. Started by just copying other peoples buildings to figure out how they did it then moved onto my own designs. Haven't looked at it in a long time but DAMN! It certainly doesn't hold a candle to this. It's really very kind of inspiring, maybe I should go finish it. :biggrin.gif:
+ To you good sir.
You've definitely given me ideas for town improvements!
Haven't been working much on the town lately, just a few bits and bats here and there. Nothing worth updating the download for yet though.
I usually go a few weeks without playing much then get back into the game and just pump out a load of ideas in a short time.
Im pretty keen to finish up the town though as its almost done, then i can start working on the area's around the city adding small roads, farms, ruins, dungeons, bandit camps etc etc
Got a ton of idea's for it so i cant wait to start on them. :tongue.gif:
Reminds me to some little town in middle or southern Germany.
Very pretty!
Did you do this all by your own or together with others? Must have been a shitload of work either way.
Haha Thank you very much!
It's a solo project so I'm building it all by myself. :sad.gif:
Its good fun though even if it is a little bit empty
Was thinking about hosting it up on a bukkit server or something and adding npc's and such in the shops or just around town to add a bit more atmosphere.
I'll have to check out some of these middle or southern German towns for some more inspiration!
Started work on outside the Town walls. Yay!
Looks like it might take a while to get a fair bit done because of my horrible terraforming skills, aw well I'm happy with what I have so far though.
Keeping with the same detailed theme as my town, the outside area is going to be jam packed with places to explore.
Also did some minor tweaks on the town, just trying to finish it up so there are no more dead end sewers or half built buildings.
Texturepack has been updated too to include straw/thatch/hay or whatever you would like to call it. This should give the roofs a little more variety and allow me to make farmland more realistic.
Should have V3 for download within a week or earlier depending on how motivated I stay :3
Sneak Peak Pictures! Shhhh

Thanks for viewing and any feedback of things you'd like to see in the next download is welcomed.

Love it, BUT, in here the rooftops must be less uniform. THink of it like this, people built their houses outside of town with no knowledge in architecture and they all built a different thing, also remember in medieval times books were prohibited
I have always said that this forum has 90% horrible topics, but this is definately a nice town. I never expected to find a town on these forums that thought of details like sewers, farmlands and foliage. Not only did you think of them, you actually made them look realistic. The houses themselves aren't special, but I'm at least very happy you add interiors. I definately like the town, but I have a huuuge complaint. NEVER MAKE ANYTHING IN FLAT MAPS! BUILD STUFF WITH A LANDSCAPE, DON'T PLACE STUFF IN IT! bleehhhhh
Wow thank you so much! It's great to get some good feedback, the only reason I built the buildings on a flat map was because I didn't have a plan of how big the town was going to be or how much space I would have.
So I built the main buildings such as the castle, church etc. Placed them and built the town around that. I probably could have planned the town out before I started building, but i had no idea it would turn out this big. :ohmy.gif:
Ah god, honestly I wouldn't have a clue :mellow.gif:
It's been such an on and off project, sometimes ill take a break from minecraft for a few weeks sometimes ill just take a break from this project.
I started showing the first pics of the project back in early june, though alot of the town had already been done back then.
LOVELY!!!!! DAMN!!!! SIR YOU WIN TWO INTERNETS!!!!
My only complaint, It doesn't have a dugeon!!! Yet. Right? RIGHT?
Notch aprooved :iapprove:\

Haha don't you worry, I will be adding plenty of dungeons/ruins/caves/towns/forests etc etc to explore all with treasures and traps !!
And I totally agree with your idea on the rooftops, I have just started changing the textures to add a bit more variety and I'll try and build some unique styles to compliment the different area's.
P.S Oh wow I had no idea books where prohibited back then o.O I guess my world is gonna have to be set in some mystical faraway fantasy universe where everyone Loves Books ! :tongue.gif:
I must continue express my jaw being re-hinged. I wish i could build somethin like this. But alas tis not to be at the time being. But goood stuff! Keep up the good work and keep on makin beautiful things like this.

I was a bit hesitant to putting the texturepack up for download because its a mix of many packs together.
I guess I'm gonna have to now that I'm using a fair few custom textures, else the world is gonna look a tad weird without it lol.
