Iv decided to turn this town into an open world adventure map. I will keep posting screenshots of the various new things and updates I build here.
Current Features:
- A very large and detailed Medieval themed city
- 2 Smaller towns, one is a starter town and the other is a desert themed town.
- Fully explorable environment featuring roads, forests, caves, farmland and much more.
- So far only a couple of quests are included, but more are to come in future versions.
- 3 Dungeons of varying levels featuring traps, redstone puzzles, parkour and of course Rewards!
- Highly detailed map with hundreds of hidden area's and Items in nearly every chest.
Planned Features:
- Alot more quests
- Skill Guilds each with appropriate themed quests
- More ways to spend gold Nuggets acquired from quests/hidden area's
- More advanced dungeons (Hopefully some multiplayer based ones too)
- Train station for easy access between towns.
This City is best viewed with the texturepack.
*I have made a few changes to the colored wool, sponges and other objects on the texturepack allowing me more materials to build with, so it is highly recommended to play the map with it, else things will look very weird in places*
Texture Pack V6.1: Mediafire
(I do not take any credit for any of the textures in this pack. It's a compilation used for allowing me extra customization with my builds. See the section below for more info. )
Server Owners:
I get alot of requests from people about wanting to use this City on there servers.
Feel free to use this City on your server and even edit or change it as much as like!
Just show a bit of respect, don't try and claim the project as your own and if possible, give credit by either including my name somewhere or a link to the project so others may find it if they wish.
(Also feel free to msg me with your server address and ill stop by sometime and check it out.)

The texture pack is a personal compilation I made containing mostly John Smith's and Doku's packs with lots of bits and bats from other packs too.
I have been updating this texturepack for quite a while so i cant remember where i got some of the textures from.
Here is a list of credits for the textures i can remember:
*Click the text to be taken to the original texturepack thread/webpage*
There are so many textures i am bound to have missed credit for some, so I am extremely sorry if you are a texturepack artist and you notice one of your textures have been used.
I would be more than happy to list you in the credits with a link to your pack if you leave me a message.
And for those that do not want me using there textures i am more than happy to take down the texturepack at your request, as i said before though i am taking no credit for any of the textures and they are only included in the pack because they are the best of the best that i enjoy building with.
(If anyone else notices a texture from someone not listed feel free to message me with the pack name and if possible a link. Thanks)
Also huge credit to CNBminecraft for his tutorials and schematics for the hidden piston stairs and the 4x4 Piston door used in the Ruins Of Amor.
Check out his youtube channel here for great videos and redstone tutorials.

Instructions on how to install the world:
To play the downloaded world first un-zip the file using a program such as WinRAR or WinZip, you can unzip the file anywhere for now.
This should make a folder named "Oddworld-Medieval", you want to place this folder in your minecraft game folder with your other save files.
If your un-sure on how to find your Minecraft game folder follow these steps (for windows):
1. click the "start" button down the bottom left of your screen.
2. In the search box type %appdata% and click the folder named "roaming"
3. In this "roaming" folder should be your minecraft folder named .minecraft
4. In here you will find a folder named "saves" that should have all your worlds in there, if you would like to play my world all you need to do is drag and drop the "oddworld-medieval" folder into it.
Thanks for looking, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
Very Nice, I am building something similar, except in a roman/greek style. My only crit would be that the rooftops all seem too uniform, in real medieval life, there would be different types, like mudbrick, thatch, stone etc.
Otherwise, Its fantastic. Keep up the good work :-)

Thats a great idea! Ill start trying out some different roof designs to add a bit of variety to the buildings.
Thanks for the feedback :tongue.gif:
Also the castle will be added to a later version of the map when iv finished building it.
Lemmi know if the downloads dont work as its my first time uploading a map thanks. :unsure.gif:
I think you've heard everything my friend zetamus and I have had to say. Overall, great job! We admire your sense of design, exterior and interior. Good luck on this and your future endeavours. Cheers!

I could not disagree more.
It's a medieval city that is walled in and protected by a castle. It has a sewer system and a harbor, these things aren't thrown up like ramshackle buildings. They are all built the same.

td;dr this is a city not a town
you do have a point in that, I don't know, I just personally feel it would look better with some minor differences. Its not in the way he has built it, but merely, the repetition of the textures that the game comes with, mixing up materials, just draws the eyes away from the fact that a roof being built by all wood or all dirt just looks like a bunch of mirrored blocks.
anyway, as i said earlier, fantastic job Oddworld. Maybe i'll post my stuff someday :-)
I checked out the server and couldn't help myself modifying one thing. Those bridges with a roof, the ceiling is too low, I edited one of them to show you it can look could better like that. Hope I don't get greifer-alerted :biggrin.gif:
Just checked out that bridge and it does look and feel alot better!
Thanks for the feedback!
And don't worry about changing anything as its only a copy of my real town made for show.
Heyhey! Wait! I didn't actually give any feedback... Well... I wish I could redo the town I made and make it like yours!
I love the cranes on the docks, did you come up with that by yourself?
I actually first saw the cranes in Cynicis' Crown of Kalin map, which was the first medieval map I ever saw, and it amazed me so much that I had to have a go at making my own little town :tongue.gif:
You should definately check out his map if you like my town as his is on a larger scale compared to my little town. Crown Of Kalin Link
