I 'm using reference images, but since everything in Minecraft is mostly blocks, the proportions and scale are atrocious... Brick structure = "cook house"
Bottom gravel= "ballast"
Back fence pole = "whipstaff" / "tiller"
Small/large logs on the second deck = "capstans"
And here's the ship at night...
I might just make an empty one for people to fill up with their own stuff if I ever finish
I ran into a lot of the same issues with scale and building with blocks :sad.gif: My ship is small enough that details, especially like you have, would be exceedingly tough to do, yet it would have been larger than most galleons historically. Amazing just how small most of them were back then. Not that I minded smaller, logistically it made it easier to build. I love the detail that your larger size enables. Also I really appreciate seeing a ship that isn't made of all 45 and 90 degree angles, but actually rounds the hull (as best as one can with blocks).
Of all the efforts I've seen so far, I consider yours the definitive sailing ship.
Currently having trouble on the shrouds... or the net thingies if you prefer
I tried using fences but it came out bad, I really don't want to use glass...
I had good luck making my rigging out of fence
granted, it looks better from a distance. I bet that's also true of the glass though, and man does it look good. I'll have to copy my ship and do a version with glass and see which I prefer
Hey Chrome just wanted to say awesome ship. Here's my take on your design. It's not exactly the same, but your pictures did help A LOT in designing and building. I hope I did you proud and thanks for the awesome inspiration :biggrin.gif:
Chrome, This may very well be the best boat I have seen in minecraft to date. I really enjoy the shape of the hull and the birch bottom. One of the more well thought out designs for sure.

If you place the boat at sea level, it gets cut off since it goes over the build limit :\
So now it's in a big hole
well that sucks
Clone Trooper Skins
