And finally, the historically accurate(-ish) shinden-zukuri I've been working on. The general layout is pretty close to scale, though I shaped the roofs and the two pavilions however I wanted. Still not finished, but getting there.

Did you have to quote his wall of imagery? D:

That said, I've seen a lot of really good Asian-style architecture! There's a few really cool Asian-y pagoda projects up for viewing at planetminecraft.com; one of them is an entire Asian-styled city that a server put together. Pagodas always look really good in Minecraft, I can't wait to see them compiled here.
Hey guys, I've recently just started getting into Asian style architecture, and I'm wondering if any of you know of any tutorial videos or other informative things about how to build these beautiful constructs :smile.gif: It would be much appreciated anyone of you could help me out!
I meant to comment on your thread, but I guess here works too! I really like the way you're doing the roof on this building. It's very busy but works nicely. :smile.gif:

Thx! I was trying for a more, hunched? and protected, heavier may be the right word for the roof on that building than standard asian styles, while still staying true to it's roots, and other than the textures, I think it turned out ok :smile.gif:
Also, seeing as I have you here, mind if I borrow a couple of ideas from your pictures for my Hoshi clan buildings? :biggrin.gif: pretty please? :wink.gif:

Two Asian style buildings i made.
Looks pretty good. I'd do it with white wool and wooden steps for the roof, but it's got the right shape.

This was supposed to be a larger version of my Tikal Temple (mexico) but I made it too steep so I changed it up a little and I guess it looks asian.
