I made a 43 x 43 cube in the sky where the top layer hits the height limit. I finished the outer structure, but now I need ideas for the inside besides the lava fountain in the middle of it. I will not use wood in this structure due to previous encounters with wood being by lava behind other objects.

Note: The glowstone is only there to light it up for the time being until I get to making the internal structure and lighting it as I go.
Made a doorway on one side of the cube to branch off for more. Made a little platform that sports a fountain next to a house that I have yet to fill. Then I have a beginings of a bridge to something else. Then... I have the beginings of the platform for a city. Here's a pic.
Once again, this is all done by hand. Gawd it takes a long time to fill in the platform. This all would not have been possible without the flying mod.
Edit: I was also thinking that if the buildings for the city are too high for the height limit, I could build underneath the platform.
I built an entire floating castle with a skybridge to a second floating castle - which I also built - all without any sort of fly mod. It's all completely doable. Especially because 43x43x43 isn't that big. I built a 42x42x42 fully 3D Companion Cube recently out of wool, also with no fly mod. Once you get the bottom layer complete, the rest is just lots of caution and patience.
I have now finished the bridge itself and finished the thing in the background, just need to wait until the trees grow now. I am now filling in spaces needed before moving on to adding water below the bridge to complete this project.
The bridge itself is completely filled in with for the most part. For the middle part of the bridge is made of a stack of stone :_:.
