On the server I'm currently playing on (the name of the server is "Aurora"), I decided to make a giant tree. After a few weeks of work, I managed to finish it, here is the result. Note that this was all done without the use of mods (it's a "vanilla" server, after all :smile.gif: ). No flying, no /jumpto.
This shot was taken during construction. You can see how I went about making the top of the tree: rings of dirt, followed by torches, saplings, and lots of bonemeal (I'm impatient).
The sand towers I constructed nearby.
A few shots of the entrance.
First floor/entrance.
Looking up...
The ladder on the top floor (there's more than one floor, it's just that they all look the same - BOORING - so I didn't take screenshots of those)
A few more shots of the interior...
Looking down at the nearby town of Aiur, the top of the tree, and on the other side looking at the sand towers.
And finally, the tree at night!
Ah, so yeah. It's not the greatest looking giant tree, but I like it. :smile.gif:
Was exploring my world when I came across a dungeon above ground. Not sure how common this is but it's the first time I've seen it. I just started getting the moss stone when I decided to take a picture.
This is an airship I built after a bout of insomnia a few nights ago. No mods or invedits or anything, and I fell off it and died about 5 times overall (yes, I know about crouching). I am pleased with it overall, despite its small size and simple construction. It is located in the valley between my house and my boyfriend's house. I made it while he slept and surprised him with it the next morning.
It was loosely based on the galleon, but I obviously took some liberties to make it easier and smaller (as I didn't have that much airspace in the area I wanted to build). The anchor was originally going to be on the ground, but the fence column kept disappearing visually when I'd get about halfway down. I settled for having it hanging off the side, and billowed the back sail accordingly to (hopefully) imply that the anchor was being used to keep the boat from blowing over.
The night after I made it, my roommate logged on and added an NPC guard named Jack Sparrow. No pictures of him, as he just has the default player style, but I thought it was funny. If I had known he was going to do that, I'd have made the sails black.
The view from my house, showing the anchor.
The view from my boyfriend's house. You can see the roof of my house in the distance!
Why you should never mine upward. I found this in a cave I explored while mining sand to make enough sandstone to complete the rebuild of my castle. I deliberatley caved it in (from a safe distance of course) shortly after taking that image.
The rebuilt castle, as seen looking west from above my minecart station. It is 6 levels in the center area, with 5 levels in each of the corner towers. I still have to do a lot in the interior, especially on levels 3, 4 & 5.
Oops, I see I missed a cobblestone block from one of the old towers. When I built the roof up another level (it was 5), I decided to add another level on each of the towers.
The floors on the first two levels are all wood, and the other 4 are sandstone. It took a lot of trips to a nearby desert biome to gather all that sand. Plus, I had to extend the perimeter walls on the north and south sides outward 8 blocks. It was originally a bit smaller; the current size on the outside at ground level is 29x35.

This is the grave site of my first wolf, Winston
This is his brother's, Louis and Franklin, paying their respects.
I've seen some other Tree screenshots and suddenly, felt like a noob. What can I do to improve, forum? :smile.gif:
The dock gates.
A wider view of the docks.
A side gate.
Further down the wall.
And finally a canal I built inside the walls.
Don't compare yourself to other people's builds; everyone has a unique way to approach things. Just do what you feel is right and it'll look good.

No (Well, at least I don't think you can). I just upload my pics to http://tinypic.com. You then just copy and paste the IMG code. I hope I helped!
I made it on WoMRealms and converted it to beta. The result? This.

That's one neat looking structure you've got there. More observation platforms would be cool, (one for each side?).
@ angel mapper, lol, I love that skeleton excavation. XD
Anyways, here's a little 'lab' building with a bridge that I just made:
Any ideas on what to put inside it?
