That house is simply the best thing that has ever happened to Minecraft. It's truly spectacular.
Anway, here are a few shots of the only above-ground house I've built that wasn't a first-night shelter. Otherwise, I always hole up underground.
I like the house a lot because of the sandstone and the multiple floors. What makes it interesting, though, is the fact that it's built on a floating glass island. This presented a lot of limitations, so some sections have a sandstone floor. I admit that it needs some work, but here are some more shots:
Using up some lapis blocks on the all-glass first floor:
The multiple glass ceilings:
And a closer view of the house.

Well here are some modern builds on the server I play on.
This house is across the lake from my spawn house it's creator is named Xactar.
Dont ask about the pig it's not mine. The city scape in the foreground is though.
This building is in my backyard it's built by Eraticus all materials legit took him awhile and iam sure he is working on it.
And this is a featured filled subway station I built. Right now it goes to the emerald city and a couple of other locations. You can just make out the community farm in the background.
Note that the bricks and carpets are now a different texture. The bricks are now the multicolor brick option (Painterly), and the carpet is whatever that newest wool option is called. I need to take new screenshots of my house to reflect the changes in textures. But yeah. That's my house. Hope you like it. :smile.gif:
Bookmarked this thread for future viewing. Impressive how architechturally competent some of you are. The web page offers some pretty nifty ideas too. Still, I have to despise anyone with enough money to afford any of that.

I have been looking for a location to build a similar "cliff-house", but have not been able to find one as of yet.

EDIT: I just noticed the small entrance under the overhang... great stuff!
I'm using the Tronic graphics pack. I don't have exterior screens as the server I was on is down due to the update. These are somewhat old and things have changed a little, but still basically the same. The house is built into a tall and steep cliff face.
Living room with glass walls overhanging cliff...
Bedroom with overhanging corner glass wall/window platform bed...
Well yeah I've seen a lot of it would be cool to have something like your build outside of something modern!

I would consider my house to be modern. I'll let you be the judge of that, though.
