Want a high-definition rendering of your single or server world with extra features such as water-reflection and realistic shadowing but don't have the fastest computer? Look no further than here! Using SmilyOrg's Ray Tracing Software (As discussed here. All credit goes to him for this awesome program, I'm merely using it to help people) I will be offering to render a few shots of whatever you want within your world! Want the awesome castle you have fully shadowed and represented? I can do that! Want a city with a nice ocean-port with amazing reflections? I can do that as well!
Unfortunately for most people who don't have the time to wait while it eats up their processor, this program isn't very practical. I, however, have a powerful enough processor to do a full 3200*1800 rendering in roughly 4-5 hours, while still being able to function as normal with my computer.
So here's what you do if you want this: Pack up your world into a zip file and upload it online, then give me the link to it and the resolution you want it rendered at (nothing more than 2560*2048 please) and I will add you to the que. If you want a picture of your world for a desktop wallpaper then use your native resolution as the rendering resolution. Want a picture for a mod banner or the sort, then I can make you a high resolution rendering and you can crop it to fit your banner.
So bring it on guys, give me your most impressive structures and worlds and I will give you what you want.
Edit: Also, if you would like a certain texture pack used, then link me to the forum thread with that texture pack for me, otherwise I will default to using Aageon's 128x pack found here
TLDR: Give me your world, I'll make it look nice

We will not die this way, THIS IS ABSOLUTION. Death claims us no more, NO MORE.
Do not grieve, end the suffering. We will live, live eternal.
I request a render of the first Gourd Avenger map! It comes with its own texture pack apparently, so I'd be nice if you used that. Maybe a map-like view and some closeups of houses? Anyway, I think that'd be sweet, thanks!
Oh, a post, lol, alright, beginning it now before I go to sleep here.

Here are the renderings from this map, it was actually a really cool one! I especially really like the second one, I softened up the reflections in the water and I think they look real nice.

here is mine!!
Can you do it at 3200X1800 resoultion?
that'd be great! could you PM me the link to the pic once your done?
(this is my multiplayer world)
-edit.... ugh, my upload speed is like sooo slow!!! its about 200KBp/s
I'm going to be getting on the road here, going home for spring break, so I will get the renderings for this world started up when I'm home! :biggrin.gif:

Sorry about the long pause between these! I got home and the router wasn't working and my dad couldn't explain it, so I've spent the last 3 days trying to figure it out...turns out it had water leak on it from the bathroom on the floor above which caused a whole bunch of other things and had to go out and get a new router...yeah, big mess =/. I'll try to get to work on these soon though, little busy playing Dragon Age 2.

Or people can just go over to the thread yourself. here There are links to the actual ray trace renderer.
That is if you have an ok system. It doesn't require anything super-fast, most folks shouldn't have any trouble with it.
It is still in development, so there could be bugs or graphic glitches in the renders. But for the most part I have been very impressed with the results.
I give SmilyOrg epic Kudos for writing a very good tool.

You wouldn't be able to ray-trace in real time, not even in 10 years. There needs to be some serious break throughs in computer technology before you could achieve this.
Ray-Tracing (what this program does) essentially calculates the path of the light ray for every pixel you render. For a 3200x1800 that would be 5,760,000 rays of light to trace.
It took him 5-6 hours to render that, I'll do some math.
Ideally you want 60fps.
Frame needs to render in 1/60th of a second
Currently takes 5 hours.
5*60*60*60 = 1,080,000
Our processors need to be 1,080,000xfaster to render that in real time.
Hello, I would like you to render this world for me. I would enjoy about 5 different renders of the world primarily of the ruins and towers in the water with reflections. All together i want great renders of the ruins and their reflections on water. I would prefer a texture pack with great looking water. You may choose this yourself. Although i want a texture pack where the cobble and mossy cobble tile in a smooth fashion. Do your best, i greatly appreciate this. Here is the world zip file http://www.mediafire.com/?tcrvah21s1nra4j
Wow! this is really neat :biggrin.gif: look at my cabin and see if that looks like somthing worth spending the time on, I would love to have just a picture of the front of it with the water fall on the side.. tell me when you're avalible and i'll upload it online, it also uses misa's texture pack http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/413639-my-log-cabin/

It is beautiful ;,)
He is also using a texture pack if you didn't know. I don't know the texture pack in the first picture, but the second is GeruDoku.
1st is painterly.
And I know the textures, I just wanna play with the world render like this! ;,D

I'd say that in about 10 years, we'll be able to render stuff like this in real-time. So if you want to wait ten years...
Click the download button on that page. If you could render it in 1920x1080, that'd be ideal. Thanks alot in advance. There's lots to see on the map.

Its Ray Traced, almost everything will take forever to be raytraced
