What is the ratio of your ghast to a real ghast? I'm going to make a giant me to fight your giant ghast.
The constructed Ghast is 4 times the volume of the original; for perspective, you could fit 64 Ghasts in the space occupied by this one (excluding the tentacles). The ratio is 4:1.
If it's four times the volume, it can only fit four ghasts.
If it is four times the length, it is (4^3) 64 times the volume.
Teehee, ninth grade math.
Why not place blocks instead of arrows inside the dispensers, (if you decide to do that), which would give it more of a bowser fire-breath feel, but at the same time you wouldn't be in danger of being pelted with arrows when walking in front of it.
A double sized version would take 8 times as much material as the original.
And I would agree that it needs to shoot fire arrows. Just put something like this inside (Dispenser not furnace)
[]
It shouldn't catch anything on fire... Unless that gets patched in later.
Not true about the 8 times material seeing as I won't be making the walls twice as thick...
(x^3-(x-2n)^3) where x is the dimension on the cube and n is the thickness of the walls.
(16^3 - 14^3) = Current wool cost = 1352
(32^3 - 30^3) = Future wool cost = 5768
Oh, well I was assuming it wasn't hollow... Can't imagine why.
Yeah, if you were keeping the same thickness walls then doubling every dimension would require ~4 times the material. My bad.

I ask because I needed several tens of thousands of it for a project I have planned. I don't fancy hunting 5,000 sheep, so I guess spider trap?
I had stockpiled a load of wool before the update so I could make a lighthouse. Not making that anymore... but it still wasn't enough wool.
Every day I would go out and dye and punch sheeps. Every night I would work on my ghast from the safety of my base.
A spider killer could give an added bonus but it takes 9 string to make a wool block :sad.gif:

Now these points of data make a beautiful line...
backing it up, lighting it on fire, and then going back in time seems a little like cheating. I only use the backup if some fatal error that isn't my fault happened.
Also, if you put water right next to a wool block will it be fire immune? Right below? Right above?

If people want to see it "shoot" stuff, couldn't you make a floating fireball between its face and your base? The top couldn't be completely on fire, though... not unless you rim it with netherrack or something. Everburning birch logs?
Alternately, you could make the "fire" all out of wool... but that might also involve making the ghast even bigger. :x

Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. (Source)
Anything built within Minecraft, using only Minecraft, without using bugs, is legit.
If you don't want to build mob traps, that's fine. Just don't tell us it's cheating.
If you mean switching to Peaceful for the duration of building it, that's not cheating.
It is in my opinion, that took skill, time, planning and patience.
If he set it to peaceful, well that would be about as easy as making it in creative mode.
I know many of our community play only on peaceful, and they do build some epic structures, ones that would be 3x as amazing if built while dodging arrows and explosions. No exception here.
Awesome Ghast, I may feel the need to build one myself.

Your opinion is wrong, because it's based on a factual error. Using existing game mechanics as intended is about as close to "cheating" as using the microwave to cook instead of the oven.
Total Mathgasm, double checked it, you are totally correct.
my ghast is 16x16x16 blocks

Thanks! [Notch]
Great job man.
How'd you get all the wool?

I'm quite the shady customer.

At least you didn't lose a planet!

Yes I know right.
Maybe it is a glitch or maybe your just lucky. I don't think it would come with Mo's Creatures.
