Haven't seen MCEdit work server side, I don't know I've never used it. Even if it did I don't want to release something we haven't even finished entirely.
First off, AM ZING job. THis is just.... amazing. Can barely describe it lol. Just.. truly amazing, sir.
With MCEdit... from what I understand, the save file for the world server acts similarly just like a save file for single-survival. So, theorectically, you could get a schematic of the Colosseum through a copy of the save file? (Yeah, I'm not too brushed up on the art of MCedit either xD)
*edit?* I tested it with my server file, and it loaded up fine (It put me back at spawn). So, it might be an option, if you so choose to give us minecrafting-freeloaders the glory of your creation (and if you can figure out the schematic option).
This is brutally impressive. What's the first step in even planning a build like this? Do you start with graph paper? Blueprints? Some combination of the two?
Actually the very first step in building anything on this scale is to decide what to build, obviously. Then usually some early plans are made, like all the foundations to the building, to make sure it's not going to be built wrong and then basically just start doing it. We didn't have any blueprints on this, nor did we have any kinds of papers. If I understand it right someone here had something drawn in paint but not much of it were used.
I see that thing, and the first thing I can think of is spleef. Very very awesome, and I can't wait to see the rest of Rome built as well.
Already in the works. The whole project was whipped out due to my provider going under and taking everyone with them, but Laserpanda took over and rebuilt the coli and then some. The Circus Maximus is almost done once again, and Palatine Hill is in the works. Laserpanda and Rastadogg have also completed a bunch of other large project that I wont list because 1) I have no idea what their names are, 2) there is alot. We also decided to give Rome its own world on the server, called 'Romana', and you can see it by going to this carto here: http://22.214.171.124:8123/#
Sorry we will not be giving a download link anytime soon or at all, It's still being worked on and will most likely be worked on for awhile. Its not just the Roman Coliseum but a majority of Rome that we are working on.
