this is the view from the highway (i synced the iron gates so they work in unison off 1 switch)
this is the front door (and the lava lights)
its a 7 story hotel. with a 5x7 mine down to bedrock (it took over 500-1000 glass so far), and its not done yet
(it also has escape tunnels and a balcony)

After 10:30 PST, my IQ drops to around that of a shovel, please disregard anything I say after aforementioned time, it will likely not make any sense, and is best ignored.
These all look really good. Glad to see another one of these threads now that the forum has been moved around. I'm working on full scale house at the moment...here's a few shots of the inside so far. Even those aren't complete yet.
The library is currently under construction, then the bedrooms, bathrooms, and onto the upstairs which I will need to construct. Once it's complete, I'll have pics from the outside view.
Goodlord you must of hacked the things in or used map editor!
Nope, just a stupid level of dedication, and a few prototypes. There's actually a huge quarry beneath the ocean floor where I got the stone, and kept furnaces going to make smooth stone. The central tower was easy to build, then I constructed a scaffolding of dirt out from that to help build the rest from the bottom up. It originally sat next to a small island which I tore down to leave it surrounded by water. The blocks from that island were used to build the floating island there.
And all in normal mode with zombies and creepers chasing me...I'm just that kind of crazy. XD
Heres my base, its 100% creeper proof aswell, not a single place in the perimeter around the entire base any sort of enemy can get in, i get a bit anal about stuff like that. i hope you like it though, its got multiple area with everything you could ever need including forts, underground mines, a quarry, smelting furncess and swimming pools.
That's the front view of my house - yes, it's carved into the mountain.
And that's the inside of it. Rather small, but it works for me. The door on the far wall leads to unfinished rooms I've been working on such as an archery range, an indoor pool, and a miniature zoo, while the switch to my right opens the door to my mine.
This is Fort Gnome at night
The stable!(with happy pigs!)
How to place a fence on a fence? When I try to place a fence on top of another fence, nothing happens :-(
Use a material of choice and make a "x" blocks high tower. Place a fence ontop of the tallest block and remove the block under it. Place a fence on the block below the tallest fence and repeat this process til you reach the ground.
Voila!
BTW, when are you going to update the OP, YourSaver?
Here's an overview of my production complex. This place is 100% self sufficient, I can get any resource, anytime, from this place. If It can be farmed, It gets farmed there.

And from another angle.
OMFG
You are the true building hero!
That's freaking awesome! How did you get the dragon on the wood?

Great oil rig. now just spread obsidian on the water and you've got yourself an oil spill!

That's not a lake. If it were supposed to be one, it would look nicer. That's actually a primitive trap.
Another view with my two towers in the background.
A cool sunrise view of the fortress.
My House's workshop.
Closeup on the garden
Underground Maintenance tunnels connect all buildings, as well as storage nodes, minecart stations and incinerators
My Nether portal is connected to the tunnels too.
Fortress at night
Nighttime shot of a coastal outpost that I occasionally stay in.
Nighttime shot of my house. This one does it more justice than the other two I think.

This is beyond awesome. A seriously amazing design. I'm kinda envious.
Wow! You made most of the homes look like a candyshop!
