for one i enjoy your name. death note was a delightful anime. it will come with time though. i feel that doing quick sketches in a notebook really helps. but thats just me and it kind of comes from the fact that i am in Architecture school.

Everytime I come here I find more structures that I have never thought to build.
I am not getting the full experience out of this game...
Here's the way on and off the property,a ladder to the water below.
This is the primary hall, which provides access to the entire estate.
My farm, which holds wheat and reeds.
My tree farm, which is five floors high, and the second image shows how high each floor is.
The Reading Room. A place with a beautiful view so you can read books.
My grand library! It possesses a grand volume of books, ranging from topics such as "Affixed to the shelf" to "You can't read this, boyo!"
This is the antechamber to the upper floor. I enjoy the design.
This is the viewing gallery, which provides a beautiful view of the surrounding environs.
This is the Conference Hall. It's large, airy, and quite well done,in my opinion.
This here is the Speaker's Perch. It is where the current Speaker of the Conference stands to deliver their words.
Aah,my bedroom. Quaint,isn't it?
Finally, the bathroom. Literally. I give you what I believe to be Minecraft's first indoor bathtub.
This is my manor, and I will post pictures of the deep sea mine sometime soon. I hacked in the lightstone for the sake of time saving. Everything else is legit.
Also,a quirky fact. Any part of Summermyst Manor that's not in direct contact with the ground is supported by stilts. If the stilts would reach water, they're made of (cobble)stone for one meter above the surface down.
summermyst manor? your not the only one who plays Oblivion dude.

put your hands in the air and scream **** THE WORLD!!!
Here's what I've been working on in beta. In the past I've been tempted to build mega structures every time, but now I'm trying to build simply. This is my longhouse, the main building.
I've got a big area fenced off and lit with torches. There's a green house for growing trees next to it.
The hill that the longhouse goes into had a natural underground pool.
I made a highway from the longhouse to my spawn point.
And finally the pagoda I built at my spawn point. The pond it's on is completely man made. I plan to cover up the smooth stone everywhere so it looks a little more natural.
There's still a lot more work that I have planned. So far I feel like exercising the restraint to make small, simple, buildings has payed off. Thanks to everyone posting in this thread and the alpha version of the thread for the inspiration!
Was experimenting with indirect lighting in one of my bases... This particular ceiling design is a failure for lighting purposes, but I thought it looked kinda cool anyway.
I might try running some lava behind glass up there instead of all those torches.
You guys seem to be the experts here, how should I spice up the exterior of this fort? Interior design I have much less trouble with, I'll be able to do that myself, but I'd like a few ideas for the outside :smile.gif:
I'm not very good at planning out the large structures that you talented folks make. I tend to have most of my base/structure underground and looking very utilitarian.
I did, however, recently make this little house that I'm vaguely proud of.
i thought the bridge was kinda snazzy too.

The Sleestaks are mad that the creepers took their only line. "Sssssssssssss"
Some people just don't get this. Please do NOT quote entire posts with large pictures. It's really annoying when I go through those kinds of posts just to see some one wrote at the bottom "cool". Replace the photo url with "-snip-" and we will get the same idea. My internet has the equivalent speed of mining obsidian with PORK and cannot process so much pictures.
