Those docks look good gummi. The huge staircase really adds to it.

My house (still a WIP) isn't as aesthetically pleasing as some of the creations posted here but I thought I should upload it to see the feedback I would get.
I know the house doesn't look very 'natural' and it looks simple but I like the skyscraper look.

So what do you people think? How can I improve it?
I love the amount of amazing this thread withholds!

My Citadel is finally done (after months of work heh). The only thing incomplete is the underground mall, which I'll get around to eventually. And the whole citadel needs to be lit up better, cause right now its very unsafe at night. I'll take more pictures and upload the save later.
3x Aerial shots.
And a cropped (because the full image is 16 MB....) Cartograph
Texture pack is Dante's Albion
My next project is either a desert palace, or a temple district with (huge) temples to various elements and such.
I don't usually post on the forums, just lurk, but I must say that is one of the most impressive cities I have ever seen Gummi! I can't wait for the world save so I can explore in detail.
I'm hoping this belongs in this thread; I've been working on my desert city on and off for over a month now. It's not legit by any means; I meant it to be, but in the end I didn't want to trash the landscape for all the sand/sandstone I needed. . . ah well.
Desert city at noon. The temple/shrine towers are too big, I think; and I really need to put fountains/gardens in them. I was thinking of shortening the towers and putting in big trees, with their branches spilling out the sides?
Streetview during the day. I should have taken pictures with a different texture pack; this city was made with Aza's Arid in mind, but it still looks good with stuff like Doku's.
There's multiple layers -- I wanted it to be Morocco/Anasazi . . . the fence ornamentation on the doors is more Asian, but it looks OK to me (and check out that awesome interior ).
Also, while the lamps are cool looking IMO, they're bulky -- they're 3x3 around. I'm looking for attractive alternatives.
Nightview. The whole city is pretty well lit, although right now it's too reliant on random torches sticking out of the ground. I'm trying to get away from that . . .
Another nightview. This one is more for the height perspective -- it's very vertical. The lowest point you see here is not the lowest level of the city.
I'd love to hear anything constructive! A lot of the stuff in this thread is awesome -- seriously! and I'm running out of ideas -- there's not much I can think of to do without breaking the desert sand/sandstone theme.
EDIT: Is it cheating if I make this into an individual WIP thread? I think I'm going to; I 'd really like ideas for making this look better. Hmm.

I want your world save.
Most of the good ones I have seen used half steps as the roof, since you can gently slope them up. Only problem with that is the limited choices.
Aerial View
1st Floor
Kitchen
Basement
2nd Floor Outside Area, inside is pretty empty
2nd Floor bedroom
Top of house, Left to Right: Reed Farm, Tree, Small lookout, and wheat farm
Any ideas/criticism are welcomed.

It's how you use different materials and layers that makes buildings visually appealing. :wink.gif:

May I inquire about your texture pack sir?
