Were those cliffs generated naturally? and if so, Do you happen to have the world seed (I've been looking for a place to make something like what you've got, but I can't seem to find any good cliffs)
I love the bridges, BTW.
If your looking for a good seed with lots of cool cliffs and landmarks, I just started up a world with the seed Glacier and its pretty epic.

would any kind soul put all of last thread's images into one zip for download? I would greatly appreciate it.
Um, do you not know how to do this yourself? You seem to be strongly suggesting that your time is more valuable than other people's, which is not a good way to get people to do nice things for you.

Przerwap, upon looking at some code I had just written: "...Gav... That's not how programming works."

I was more wondering if anybody happened to have all the images already. Going through 34729348 pages and saving each image is painstaking, but by the response i would think that one person at least has all the images.

Jesus has all the images. Jesus knows everything. I'll pray for you.
I've been watching this thread for a while now and its really made me want to build more aesthetically-focused houses. So I've been working on them a lot, mostly just mimicking some things I've seen here, but I finally came up with something original via inspiration from some houses I've seen around town IRL. So I figured I'd post some pictures of this house as I work on it. I'm building completely legit, gathering all materials myself. These first few are just the frame, really. The entire house will not be wood. I plan to finish the outside and then replace some of it with other materials. Anyways, here's the start of it.
The right side is a patio. It'll have two fence supports with a roof, of course. The left side looks like a garage, I'm not sure what I'll do with it just yet (the glass needs fixed, it doesnt look right to me). The center is the main house and I'm not totally sure what I'm going to be doing with the interior (or exterior) yet either. The slabs in the front of the main house will be the porch, which will have some columns and a roof as well. This is only the basic idea I had, once I finish this part I'll be adding a lot more on to it.
I was about to take an screenshot.
I tried putting an incinerator.
This happened:
-snip-
It was incredibly stupid and humiliating.
This was the result:
-snip-
This happened at night, i ended up trying to stop the fire while fighting creepers and spiders.
I guess i'll have to rebuild
Lololol, I feel your pain, same thing happened to me my first three Minecraft houses, it really is a depressing time when your rebuilding

Question is who is willing to take up the task? I would but my modding skills are probably as crippled as a turtle covered in honey and duct-tape on an interstate highway.
Here's a tip. It's advice from one of my favourite builders, BlueMikeSpecial.
I'm afraid I may not have a good answer for you. Here's what I do: I look at a landscape and try to think of what might look good as part of that landscape, not "on top of" or "instead of" that landscape. With that in mind, your new town is nice looking and seems well planned out. I wouldn't build something like that however because it's not part of the world. There's no landscape to go with it. It's flat and barren. Even if that's just a plan for a town I'm not sure it will translate well into an actual map because you'd need a large flat area that just doesn't exist naturally in Minecraft.
Everything I build I try to make part of the world. The only thing I've ever built totally from scratch w/o using the existing landscape is the volcano and I tried my best to make it look natural. I wanted it to look like something that the terrain generator possibly could have made.
That's about as far as my planning goes. I tend to walk around and look at stuff then build into it. I try to see where I think something would fit. Many times I'll go through 2-3 revisions of things I've built because it didn't quite look right the first time. Also, I doubt the videos show it but I do quite a bit of landscaping with things like sand, dirt, and rock to even out terrain where I've torn things up.
There's my long rambling answer to your question. Hopefully some of that is useful.
My cottage about a 1min minecart ride away- both places have stations

Here's mine. Farm, house and minecart station; all connected by the roofs. Probably my favorite house that I've built so far, it's nothing ridiculously fancy but it gets the job done and I think it's pretty nice to look at.
ArnoldPalmer, I really like your place. The use of stone slabs for the roof is very neat. Probably common, but it's the first time I personally have seen it done.
One thing though, the fence posts holding up your deck in the fifth picture seem a little bit... structurally lacking. You know? When the deck itself consists of full wooden blocks, it just doesn't seem consistent to me that there would be skinny wooden posts holding it up.
Of course that is just my own perspective. The house looks great either way!
Nice, maybe the best lighthouse I have seen in Minecraft. Simple but near-perfect!
I think I'll replicate it and put it on top of that rocky cliff that you can see from my deck, two pictures above this one... :smile.gif:
