Shamelessly stole another design from this thread (either this one or the modern design one) due lack of creativity, but i keep failing to find the original post quick enough to credit it. Anways, placed my version on a hill/cliff for a nice view:

I think I know what house you recreated it after. But that texture pack just kills it, it looks like someone went a bit too crazy with filters on Photoshop.
Front View. Don't pay attention to the ONE open door. lol
Both sides inside the same. 2 rooms.
Big window that looks at the church. :biggrin.gif:
The 2 first rooms look like this. Nothing special in the attics

Here's the home I've been working on for the past week or so (I haven't had much time.)
It's about 90% done, so still a WIP.
Also, please ignore the sugarcane growing outside. I needed to make bookcases and when I was finished I was too lazy to take the farm down.
Anyway, pics 4 u.
Front view
As soon as you step inside, you see this. [WiP]
Nameless room 1
View from the skylight (bottom and top floors)
Coming upstairs, your first view.
Le Bedroom
Nameless Room 2
Paintings above the staircase
Another view of the bedroom
Outside again, better view of the home though.
View from a tower of dirt I made so you can see the landscape around the house.
And thats about it. I'd appreciate tips and ideas, for this does need more work on it.

Here's the enterance to my fortress.
The glass on the right is just a temporary guard for my chests out there. I'm slowly moving my materials down to my storage room!
Here's a shot of the steps. I'm incredibly happy with them!
And here's the main chamber.
It's quite incomplete but I've got all the area mined out. The left wall is completely empty but will soon be home to a Church, Forge and Pub. Also gotta do something with the floor.
Here's what the outside of the right hand side looks like.
Both sides are sleep areas and the middle is a farm.
Here's the lounge (first story of each side).
Looks the same on both sides.
And here's the bed area. Looks the same on the second and third stories.
This is the enterance to the Arena. It's at the back of the main chamber.
SKELATON?!
Here's some shots of said Arena. It's still under construction but it's about 80% done.
Here's some various other shots.
And my storage area. It's at the bottom of the fortress in the middle.
The wooden door leads to a room with more chests full of cobblestone.
Entire thing is done legit (Unless you count some mods as cheating!).
I'm often streaming construction at http://ghostinthestream.net/minecraft.html. Not right now, however.
Was just looking at an old screenshot of my Alpha mountain home/base and thinking how far it (And I) had come in 8 months. I decided to do a comparison, the first screenshot was from V1.02, it's cropped to take out the hub/hotbar, and the second is as it is today. In the interest of fairness, I switched off my painterly pack for the today shot, but have included it as a bonus pic at the end.
Sept 2010:
This is the very first screeny I took. I had accidentally drained the lava when trying to make a room in that hole in the mountain at the top. For a while I changed it to water until I could find lava in the future, The accident happened in November 2010, around mid-November I returned the waterfall to it's original lava state.
May 2011:
(As mentioned painterly was turned off for a fair comparison)
