This is my first fanfic, and first time I've done a writing thing outside of school. I am going to post the first few chapters, but I have written more, because I haven't had it edited yet, if you want to read the rest earlier just PM me and I will send it to you. Please reply, about things I did right, wrong, suggestions (would rather plot ideas to be sent as a PM, so it won't spoil it for other people, if I use it I will credit you), or just comments on anything about my story. Hope you enjoy!
Chapter 1 - Introductions:
I should introduce myself, my name is Darcy, I am coming up on 17 years old, probably not like the average teenager, I do have a girlfriend (P.S. Long distance relationships really suck). Now to the story.
‘Ok I’m getting up!’ I think at my alarm as it annoyingly beeps. I slowly sit up then get dressed in my school uniform. “What do I have today?” I ask myself, “Eh, French!” I complain as I check my timetable. I pack my bag and head out to the kitchen, I look into the living room to see my little nine year old brother watch some annoying youtuber.
“You ready?” I ask him. “Yes.” He replies in annoyance because I ask him most days.
I continue and get ready for school. I finish in about twenty minutes, then I get my brother and we head out for school. “Cya mum.” I say as we leave. We grab our bikes and ride off to school, I get to school first, but it doesn't matter much because my brother is pretty mature for his age and can go the remainder of the shortish distance by himself. “Cya.” I say as I head onto my school grounds, “Cya.” He replies then rides off.
I go to homegroup, “You do the French homework?” My friend asks me, “Nope, you?” I ask back, hoping he did, so I could copy (yeah, I don't like French much and don't prioritise it). “Nah.” He answers with a little chuckle. We go into the homegroup classroom and quickly finish the homework with the help of google translate.
After homegroup my friend and I head off to French.
French was boring, as usual, next is art, ‘Yay art’ I think sarcastically to myself. Art is boring too, which I am not surprised at, time for recess, my friends and I just stand around and talk for most of break time.
Recess ends and I head off to science, which I quite enjoy. Pas care (basically extended homegroup), we are organising how we can help elderly people, which is a good thing to do. We finish up that and go out for lunch, which we do the same thing as recess for half an hour, then financial management, which is about as boring as it sound, and for the last lesson of the day, English (It's kind of funny that I do crap in the lesson English but I can write, I think), fun right?
With English finished I grab my stuff from my locker and ride over to my brothers school, I meet up with him and we ride home.
I grab a bite to eat then go to my room and do some homework. After doing some homework I play some video games for a bit, then read a bit. I get dressed and head off for cadets.
We didn't talk to much because we are nearing the anniversary of my stepfather’s, my little brother’s dad’s death. I was seven at the time and really affected all of us (I have two older siblings, but it didn't affect my little brother too much because he was too young, though not having a father has been hard on him).
Chapter 2 - Day 1:
So everything was fine, but then I saw a peculiar structure appear directly in front of me, a few metres away, it was a rectangular prism, with a dark purple rim, and the inner area was pink, and for some reason had weird swirls. So, in an attempt to not smash into the thing, I twist the handlebar, a little too much, causing me be thrown forward, straight into the pink swirly area of the structure.
I ‘hit’ the structure, instead of smacking into it, I start to feel extremely dizzy and I pass out.
I wake up and look around, “What the?” I say in confusion. What I see makes absolutely no sense, I am lying down on a flat plain with nothing but grass in my immediate surrounding. I stand up and look around, to the East, in the distance I can see a mountain, and to the North, there appears to be a forest.
In my confusion I raise my hand and run my fingers through my hair, but I stop halfway and bring my hands in front of my face. I freeze, my hands are blocky. “What the hell is going on?” I say softly to myself in confusion. I look down at my body, just to see it is also blocky, but I am also wearing different clothes as well (Note: there is no real reason for the clothing change).
I sit down to trying process what is going on. After a few minutes of thinking, I realise that this world looks like minecraft. I facepalm at my own stupidity (of both not noticing it sooner and thinking that I am actually in minecraft). ‘Great, I'm stuck in minecraft’ I think to myself almost laughing at the ridiculousness but my situation isn't very funny, ‘Man, it's been awhile since I last played minecraft. Maybe this is some weird dream?’.
I decide to test the whole in minecraft idea, and run over to the trees, which unsurprisingly are made of cubes. I punch a tree. I prepare for the stinging pain, but it doesn't really hurt, and only leaves a crack on the log block I punched. I continue hit the wood until it can't take anymore and breaks. It turns into a small hovering version of its previous form, as I jump back and flinch in case the tree falls.
I approach the floating tree to inspect. I look around the gap in the tree but jump back when I see something fly towards me.
I facepalm, because I nearly crapped myself from a block going into my inventory. I look down at the wood in my hand and think how I would access my inventory, and notice something on my left forearm.
“Why is there a tablet thing on my arm?” I ask to myself. I look at the screen of the thing and see that it is like an Apple Watch (it's length is the equivalent of the short side of an iPad), but has a bunch of squares, I assume my inventory, and a small area with a few squares, I'd say the crafting area.
I decide to investigate the crafting function by placing the log in one of the four squares, and in the square to the right of those appeared a few planks, four I presume.
‘Wait a second, this doesn't make any sense. This shouldn't work’ I think, but then I remember the fact that there is a floating tree next to me, which I broke a part of off by punching it.
I decide to finish breaking the tree into collectable pieces, then ‘cut down’ a few other trees for wood.
After quite a while of collecting wood the scenery changes, the sky darkens. I look to the West. The sun is basically set.
“Oh, crap” I say when I think about the mobs that will spawn soon. In a hurry, I convert as many logs into planks as I can before I see movement.
I freeze, my eyes widen, my breaths become rapid, my heart races, there's a zombie less than eight metres from me. ‘This has to be a dream, right?’ I ask myself doubtfully as a thought because I can't move my mouth. I become even more terrified as I watch the zombie breath deeply through its nose and turn my way. ‘This can't be real, zombies with super smell!’ I think as it approaches me. I close my eyes, ‘Wake up, wake up, wake u-’ “AAAAGGGHHH!” I scream as the zombie reaches out and scratches my chest.
I fall backwards and look at the cuts, three bloody lines are ripped in my shirt, turning my shirt red. The outer ones are shallower than the middle one. ‘What? I can feel pain! Maybe this is more real than I thought.’ I think in horror at the thought of dying here, and even maybe becoming a zombie, I snap out of my thoughts as I hear a loud groan. I back up quickly as the zombie walks slowly towards me. After I was a few metres away I stand up, and run directly at the zombie, it gives me a slightly confused look from the change in attitude, but seems to dismiss it. When I am about a metre away I slide and smash straight through the zombies right leg.
The zombie’s balance is thrown off and it falls forwards with a ‘THUD’. I grab a stick I made earlier, jump onto the undead beast’s back and use all of my upper body to put as much force I can into stabbing the zombie in the back of the head of the zombie. It disappears into a puff of white smoke. All that is left of the zombie is some of its putrid flesh.
“Ew.” I say as the flesh flies into my inventory. I then look around to see other mobs not too far away and might notice me soon. I decide to do to dig a little hole for myself, straight down, and block up the entrance. I add a bit more room to lie down, and curl into a ball for warmth. I notice that I actually was quite tired from this very short day, so I go to sleep.
Chapter 3 - Civilization:
I wake up to the sounds of loud painful groans, bones clacking and fire. ‘Yes! Take that you undead sons of bacons (Note: this is an inside joke).’ I think with joy as the zombies and skeletons burn in the sunlight. I wait until it sounds like everything has settled down, then I take off the roof of my ‘shelter’ and keep thinking ‘Please no creepers, please no creepers.’ as I jump up and lift myself out of the hole then stand up, only to be face to face with a creeper’s pained face, “Come on!” I say as diving backwards while the creeper hisses loudly before exploding and sends me flying.
A few minutes later I wake up, aching all over. You know how in minecraft how it's just boom and some blocks are gone, it's worse, it explodes and send fire in all directions. I quickly look around for more of those explosive creatures, and luckily they all seem to have despawned already.
“Okay, what now?” I think out loud “I should get some stone and more wood, make tools then maybe head to that mountain, it would be a good place to build a house.” I say as a reply to myself. So, I make a crafting table, and a wooden pickaxe, dig down until stone, then I collect some, which I use to make a stone sword and axe. I cut down some more trees, than an apple drops in front of me.
‘Nice, food’ I think as I realise I am hungry. I eat the apple then go kill some animals for meat and materials. After a few minutes I ended up with two chicken, three eggs, two feathers, seven pork chops, five steaks and three leather. ‘Good catch, now to the mountain.’ I think as I head to the mountain.
“Well, this is way too boring.” I say to myself after a few hours of walking, ‘Man that mountain is far away.’ I think to myself, because normally in minecraft you can get places pretty quick. ‘Why can't I be building an empire rivalling some douchebag, or going on a quest to gain powers from Notch’ I think as I walk.
“Finally!” I say happily as I reach the mountain. I walk up and start to think about how I should have my house. The sky slightly darkens, “Crap!” I say aggressively in annoyance as I watch the sun get low, “Damn that looks awesome.” I say in awe as I watch the sunset. As that last rays of light start to fade, I look around for a good place to quickly set up a temporary shelter when I see something in my peripheral vision. “Wait what?” I say not believing what I say, I look directly and see a village. I run down the slope of the mountain to try and reach the village before the mobs reach me.
I see a few mobs spawn in the distance “Crap, go faster!” I say in annoyance of myself for not being a good runner. I run over to the town, and instantly hear a fear filled scream. I turn in the direction of the scream and run whilst drawing my sword. I turn a corner and see a zombie standing about a metre from a defenceless woman villager, ‘Since when were there female villagers?’ I think to myself as I run towards them.
I run and about three metres away from the zombie I jump to the right, kick off a wall and put all of the momentum of the movement to make the force of the sword more powerful, the I lunge outwards straight into the zombies head, but I didn't think about the fact I would smash into the zombie and fall to the floor like an idiot. ‘That was stupid, definitely could have done better, but it worked’ I think as I look around for other mobs, after seeing none close enough to be a threat I look the villager. She is obviously terrified and will need help. I grab her arm, with strength but not enough to hurt, then take her to the closest house and make sure she got in safe. ‘Now for some sword practice’ I think and look around for some mobs. After ten to fifteen minutes of mob slaying, I recklessly run and kill a zombie which had a creeper next to it that I didn't notice.
I hear a loud hiss, I look to my right and see a creeper “Crap.” I say quickly before I am sent flying by a very painful explosion, luckily I wasn't set on fire. I try to move but it's just too painful, I look over and see a few villagers in a house and their faces are filled with horror. I look the other way and realise why, a crippled zombie is about a metre away and crawling towards me. I try to move but the agony is to great and I am completely exhausted from all the fighting. The zombie reaches out and sinks it almost inch long nails into my face then pulls, causing its nails to slash diagonally from the top left to the bottom right part of my face, I scream from the wounds forming on my face. I start feeling dizzy, from the pain and am about to pass out. I see movement in front of me and realise that a few of the villagers I saw before came out, and one grabbed my sword then plunged it into the zombies head. Everything fades to black.
Chapter 4 - The Village:
I open my eyes, and immediately regret this action, because my eyelids are heavy and sore, but also there is something partially blocking my vision, the gaps are letting in sunlight, making it hard to see. ‘Wait, why is the sun so high?’ I think as I look around, it is around midday and I am in an unknown house. I remember what happened last night and relax a bit while smirking a bit at surviving the ordeal.
I look to my right (to the left is a wall with a window) and see a crafting table, a furnace, a lot of books then I realise there are two figures in the room. It is a bit hard to see because everything is blurry, but my vision slowly starts to improve.
The first figure I see is an old man, short light grey hair, glasses, white robe, brown pants and is sitting down reading a book, I can't really see much else because he is facing away from me. The other looks familiar, ‘Oh, it's the woman from last night. She is probably here to thank me, maybe.’ I think when I remember her, I thought she was maybe mid twenties but now I can get a better look, she looks a bit younger, maybe nineteen? She has fair, long hair, surprisingly doesn't have a massive nose, only a bit larger than normal, she is pretty, she is wearing brown shirt and pants, probably leather. She looks peaceful in her sleep, but I don't look at her too long because that is really creepy.
I sit up with a little effort and pain, not as severe as last night but still annoying. I must have grunted or made a sound because the librarian looks over and says “Oh, you're awake. I was getting a little worried there.” I look at him and remember I slept for a lot longer than I, or these villagers, normally would. “Uh, thanks for helping me.” I say because of not being sure what to say. “No worries son (Note: the son is nothing more than how I want the librarian to talk, he is not saying that Darcy is his son), I should thank you for killing those monsters.” He replies gratefully, I sit up and look over to the door and see that it greatly damaged and only barely together. “Looks like you might need a new door.” I say in a cheerful manner with a smile, “Yeah that might be a good idea.” He replies with a laugh.
“Can I take this off?” I ask referring to the bandages on my face. “It should have stopped bleeding by now, so yes.” He says as he stands up and walks over to me. He grabs the bandages and unwraps them, then he frowns a bit and passes me a bit of flattened iron, to use as a mirror. I look into the ‘mirror’ and gasped at what happened, I have four cuts diagonally across my face. “*gasp* Are you alright?” A feminine voice to my left filled with concern, I see her the woman now awake. “Uh, I'm fine.” I say to try and comfort her, I look back at the mirror and see both my eyes are intact “At least I still have both my eyes.” I say trying to be positive. “Well, thank you for saving my life, and I am glad you are alive, but I have to go to work.” She says with a small smile then she gets up and walks off.
“Do you think you can walk?” The librarian asks, I stand up and feel fine “Yeah, I should be good.” I reply. “Good, let me give you a tour of the town.” The librarian offers, “Sure.” I accept.
We walk out of the damaged door and start walking down the gravel road, to the right there is a big pen of animals connected to a house looking building, that I can see the woman I saved go into, which appears to be a butchers, then further down the road to the left, is the town’s church, which could make a good watchtower. At the end of the road there is the well, at the centre of the village, four roads go in each direction from the well, to the left, and the forward road, there are the farms, and a large house for the farmers. The right road has the houses, except for the librarian, which sleeps in the library.
“It's not a very big village, but it's home.” The librarian states as we finish the tour. “What is your name, if you don't mind me asking?” I ask curiously, “No worries son, my name is Nigel, yours?” He says, “Darcy, a pleasure to meet you.” I say friendly, “The feeling is mutual.” Nigel replies with a smile.
We walk back to the library and when we go through the almost broken door, “Let me fix this up.” I say as I go to the crafting table and make a door ‘How is this tablet thing not broken?’ I think when I notice it hasn't even got a scratch, even though I was blown up twice. I grab the broken door and replace it with my newly crafted one. I turn and look at Nigel to see he has a surprised look on his face.
“You all right?” I ask in confusion, “How did you do that lad?” He asks with intrigue. I look at him in confusion, “With this tablet thing here.” I say as I lift my arm and show him. “How curious, what is it?” He ask with excitement of discovering something new which makes crafting a breeze. “I'm not entirely sure, when I went through the portal I passed out, when I woke up it was there. Didn't you notice it before?” I ask him, “No I was a little preoccupied.” He says friendly. “So, what else can it do?” He asks, focusing on the thing my forearm. “I can use it access my inventory, and craft, it seems as though when around certain objects, say a crafting table, it allows me to do more.” I answer, now curious myself at what it can do. “Interesting, do you have any idea how it works?” He asks, trying to uncover its secrets. “Absolutely no clue.” I reply.
“Do you know where my sword went?” I ask, slightly worried about the mobs. “I do believe it broke after finishing off that crippled zombie.” He says in response. “I'm going to quickly go mining, is that alright?” I ask wondering if I will come back. “Your wounds aren't very bad, you should be fine.” He answers, “Ok, I'll be off, wouldn't want to waste sunlight.” I say with a smile. I go outside then jog over to the mountain in search of a cave.
Chapter 5 - Dark Places:
It didn't take long to find a cave. ‘Damn, that looks deep.’ I think as I start my down the cave. I mine some stone and make a couple swords and pickaxes. I slowly walk as to prevent sound and to make it easier to hear enemies approaching, especially creepers, I've been blown up twice, I don't need to experience that again. I quickly look around for coal, when I realise that I have no means of light on me. ‘Come on, come on, Aha’ I think as I find some coal. I use some sticks with the coal and make some torches, now for further descent. I place a torch the right wall every here and there, the right side so I know which way I was headed when I come back to the surface.
After a couple minutes of searching, I hear a few sounds, the clacking of bones, groaning and hissing (spider), ‘Zombies no problem, skeleton might be a problem and spiders, cave spiders are poisonous, so I need to avoid any bites’ I think as I try and figure out what to do. I look around the corner and see five zombies, three skeletons and two cave spiders.
I run out, jump and cave in a spider’s head while throwing my torch in the other spider’s face, causing it to set on fire. I see the zombies all turn and walk my way, the closest only two metres away, the skeletons all notch arrows. I see the first arrow fly, followed by another two, but I was ready, grab the closest zombie by its arm then pull it towards me and I use it as a zombie shield. The zombie grunts in annoyance at the arrows, ‘I guess zombies don't feel pain, but they can detect damage’ I think curiously, then the last arrow hits the zombie in the head, and it disappears into a puff of white smoke. I run at the skeletons, jump doublekick one in the chest shattering its ribs, and on my downfall I grab the skeleton next to me by the skull and smash its head on the ground as I land. I see the last skeleton with a notched arrow, I grab my sword to deflect the arrow.
It deflected the arrow alright, into my shoulder. I growl like an animal at the skeleton then jump up, from the sitting position I was in, whilst swing my sword upwards. It hits the skeleton’s jaw with enough force to shatter the jaw and snap its neck. I turn to the zombies but was met with an arrow to the chest. I fall back. I look up and see a spider jockey on the wall, slowly climbing down.“REALLY!?” I shout in anger at the pair. The skeleton notches an arrow as I run over to the zombies for arrow protection, but was cut short with an arrow to the inner part of my thigh. “AAAAGGGHH!” I scream out in pain. In desperation I throw my sword at the skeleton.
It smashes the annoying beast in the chest causing it to fall off and break most of its bones. I pull out my other sword and decapitate a couple zombies when the spider, that was carrying the skeleton, jumps at me. In retaliation I head butt it in the face, I fall down and the spider is dazed. I stand up and finish it off with a swift stab, then stab the zombie in the head.
I grab the loot the dead mobs dropped, then sit down to just relax a bit but I get knocked over from behind. ‘Crap I'm pinned! WHERE THE HELL DID THIS SPIDER COME FROM!?’ I think as I struggle to get out from under the massive beast, did I mention I have arachnophobia. “AAGGHH! YOU SON OF A BACON!” I scream as it sinks its fangs into my soft lower back. I turns around to bite my neck, but I manage elbow it in the face and throw it off. I stand up, things blur a little, but I am not going down without taking this unnatural beast with me.
I look at its face to see that it is bleed and is a singed. ‘Ha, the spider from before, really?’ I think a I pick up my sword. I go into a defensive stance. The spider charges at me from rage, ‘Good it's angry, it will be reckless.’ I think as I prepare to counter. It jumps, I roll at it and stab my sword upwards viciously, and I feel it stab right into its belly. I smile at my accomplishment, but then I get a bunch of spider blood pour onto my head before it disappears into a couple pieces of string.
‘I need to get help before this poison stops me.’ I think as I desperately look for the way I came. I pick up my thrown sword then head off in a random direction hoping that it is right way. I start to feel the adrenaline wear off and the effects of the poison kick in. I slowly walk with a limp because of an arrow in my leg, but then I hear a scream, I am too dazed to pick up on any details though.
I run as best I can in the direction of the scream. I see a woman backed up in a corner by about fifteen zombies, and she seems to have no weapon. ‘Wow, how cliche, the ‘hero’ has to save a defenceless woman from mobs.’ I think as I approach the closest zombie.
I stab it in the back of the head, then I pounce at the next one stabbing it in the face, but falling to the ground in the process. A zombie nearby notices me and heads my way, but I swing my sword and cut off from the knee down on its left leg. It falls and I finish it. I look over to the woman, but things aren't good, six of the zombies are still going after her. I grab my spare sword and throw it over to her, it hits a zombie it the zombie with enough force to knock it forward. As it face plants onto the stone floor, the woman understands and grabs the sword then stabs the zombie on the ground in the head. She then spins and uses the generated force to collapse in a zombie’s head, then swings upwards, slicing the front of its head open, enough damage to kill it. A zombie then was thrown into two of the zombies going after her, while she stabs the closest zombie in the brain through its eye. She stabs the three zombies that were just knocked over.
While she was doing that I got up and and charged at a zombie, stabbing it through its heart, pinning it against the wall. I had to jump back as it clawed at me ‘I guess it has to be the head.’ I think when I realised that stabbing it in the heart wasn't killing it. I growl to stop myself from screaming as a zombie scratches my back, I elbow it in the face and pull my sword free from the other zombie. That was a bad idea because I am too close for sword use and have zombies both in front and behind me. I head butt the zombie in front of me, grab the other zombie’s arm and pull it. One zombie knocks into the other, causing them both to fall over, then I stop on one of the heads and I stab the other.
I go over to another, grab it by its neck and throw it at a couple over by the woman, then I tackle another to the ground and stab it until it disappears. I see movement to my right, so I spin with my leg out, and my leg hits the zombie, causing it to fall with a ‘THUD’. I lift my leg up and smash downwards. I stand up and swing my sword at the closest zombie, but I hit with the side of my sword and broke it, it killed the zombie though. Things blur more and I start to feel dizzy, ‘I can't keep this up.’ I think pessimistically.
I walk up to the next one and grab it by the side of its head then push as hard as I down until a stalagmite pierced through its rotting brain. I see a zombie heading towards the woman, but she just ran at it then stepped on its thigh and did a backflip, kicking its jaw, snapping its neck.
The last zombie is in between us and headin my way. I walk up and punch it with a right hook, making it turn around then the woman spin jump kicked it in the face, and I grab its shoulders, pushing down, and I kick the back of its knees, making it kneel, she did the final move by kneeing it on its chin, making its brain be thrown inside its skull, turning it into nothing but slush.
I fall over, from blood loss and from the poison. Everything starts to fade, ‘Damn passing out again?’ I think to myself as I lose consciousness.
Chapter 6 - A New Friend:
I wake up and look around. I see two dirt walls, and roof, but stone floor and the other walls, it isn't very big relative to a house, about three metre cubed. I look over to the only light source, a single torch about three quarters burnt already, against a wall. I hear breathing next to me, and see a sleeping woman, maybe twenty, with long orange hair, a green shirt and brown pants.
I remember everything that happened earlier, sit up a bit and look at my damaged body. I see that I am topless but with the three scratches from my first night bandaged, so is my shoulder and thigh, where the arrows used to be. I lie down again and feel pain when the scratches I got earlier touch the ground.
I grunt in pain, loud enough to wake up to the woman next to me. “Be careful!” She says with concern. “Yeah, probably a good idea.” I reply with a slightly pained smile. “Are you alright? You kind of just collapsed after we took down that last zombie.” She says as I carefully sit back up. “Heh, a couple arrows, some scratches and poison will do that to you.” I say with humour, and follow up with, “Don't worry, I'll be fine.” “Ouch.” She says upon hearing that. “Why were there so many zombies around you?” I ask curiously. “Oh, I was exploring this cave when I came across a spawner. I tried to break it but there were too many zombies, and my sword broke. So, I ran to get away from them, but got cornered, and you saved me. Thanks for that.” She explains, “Oh, ok. And no problem.” I state.
“There's a village not too far away, if you want to go.” I inform her. “That would be great!” She says with a bit of excitement in her voice. “My names Darcy, what's your?” I ask friendly, as I put on my torn blood soaked shirt, “Grace.” She says as we unblock our way out and head off. After a few minutes of searching, we find one of my torches, we then jog off excitedly in the direction of the exit. We get to the mouth of the cave and see that the sun has risen, ‘Damn, I was in there all night!’ I think as we head off towards the village.
“How long were you in there?” I ask as we jog. “Maybe a couple nights.” She replies, “Damn.” I say in response. “How long have you been in this world?” I ask curiously. She stops, “H-How did you know I'm not from here?” She asks in shock. I stop and turn to face her, “On your arm there. The natives of this land don't have them.” I say as I lift my left arm and show her my own tablet thing. “Wait, what? Really?” She says a little more calmly this time. “Yep, I was at the village yesterday, and none of them have these.” I state, “So, you're not from here either?” She asks as we start to walk to the village. “Yeah, I was riding my bike and then out of nowhere appeared a portal. I blacked out and when I woke up I was here.” I tell her. “A similar thing happened to me. I was driving to work, then I lost control of my car on a road in a forest, then it crashed and I was thrown out of the front window, into a portal.” She states. “Interesting.” I respond.
We arrive at the village, to see a couple of dead bodies. I run over to find out what happened. There are few people trying to move the bodies, but they aren't very strong. I spot Nigel, “Nigel!” I shout out to get his attention, and it works. He walks over with a deep frown. “Oh, you're alive, good.” He says when he is about two metres away. “Yes, what is it my boy?” He asks. “What happened?” I ask in response. “Their door was broken down, so they grabbed their hoes and try to kill all of the mobs.” He says sadly. “I should have been here.” I say disappointed in myself. “This is not your fault!” He states firmly, “By the looks of it you brought someone else.” He continues. “Oh, yeah. This is Grace, Grace this is Nigel, he took care of me when I got a little too close to a creeper.” I say. “While he was protecting the village.” Nigel added, “Yeah.” I confirm the statement. “Hi, pleasure to meet you Nigel.” Grace says. “The pleasure is mine. I hope you don't mind me asking, but is that another one of those amazing devices?” Nigel asks when he notices Grace’s tablet thing.
“Yes, it is.” Grace answers. “Two people with these things, but no one else, how curious. Did you also go through a portal and appear here?” Nigel asks with intrigue. “Yes, I did.” Grace informs Nigel. “I'm just going to help move these bodies.” I state as I walk off towards the bodies. Grace and Nigel talk a bit more, but I can't hear them.
I carefully grab a body, making sure to be respectful, and lift it off the ground. It is heavy but it isn't too much of a problem. I take one body by myself, while the other is carried by a couple people. It appears they don't have any large strong people around, which is confusing, because the have a butchers. I take the body to the graveyard which is next to the church. ‘This is unacceptable.’ I think at how their defences are so weak. I get to the graveyard and see the villager woman I saved, at a grave, placing a flower.
She sees me and appears to become angry then walks off aggressively. ‘What the.’ I think in response to her actions. I place the body in a dug out grave, but after carrying the body, it made my wounded shoulder and thigh hurt. I fill in the grave and head back to Nigel and Grace, who are still chatting. “So, in you world objects aren't all cubic and blocky, and gravity affects everything?” Nigel's asks with enthusiastic curiosity, “Yes, it's interesting how our worlds are so different.” Grace replies with intrigue. “Hey.” I say when I when I get back. “Oh, hi, we were just talking about physics and the difference between our world and theirs.” Grace informs me, “Cool, Nigel can I talk to you about something.” I ask, “Sure my boy.” Nigel answers friendly. “What's up with the woman I saved the other night?” I ask, “Oh, she is a bit upset because you left and we thought you might be dead.” Nigel informs me. “But why is she annoyed with me, I'm alive?” I ask in confusion, “Her father died a few years ago, protecting her from the mobs. When you saved her she felt a connection, I'd say, so when you ran off and might have died, she was hurt.” Nigel tells me. “Oh, ok. We have a pressing matter. The village’s defences are non existent and we need to work on that.” I say with a serious tone, now addressing both Nigel and Grace. “That's a good point.” Nigel replies.
“Tonight we need fighters and light, to stop the mobs and by tomorrow night, we should have a small wooden wall built to keep out the mobs.” I say informatively. They both nod in agreement. “Grace, do you think you're up for a fight? And Nigel, who in the village could help?” I ask hoping for good answers. “I'm up for a fight!” Grace says enthusiastically, “We only have a couple people who might be of assistance.” Nigel says with a down tone. “That should do. Nigel, I'm going to need you to get them and Grace I need you to make a few wooden swords.” I inform them. They leave to complete their tasks.

Hi,
This is my first fanfic, and first time I've done a writing thing outside of school.
