v1: Its been a long journey for us
to the ocean
We've traveled many miles of land
looking for a home

We'll watch the clouds come in
v2: The sun came up, what did we see,
A cave in the water across the sea.
We build a boat, use wood from trees,

I must say, the instrument part of this song is really well done: well-composed, full of emotion and interesting melody. However, I can't say I'm fond of the lyrics; they don't feel as if they fit the more serious tone of the song itself. It's hard to explain... it's as if the words were all pulled out of xkcd's Thing Explainer.

I can see that!! I appreciate you checking it out and giving me your feedback. I can say that that is definitely partly my fault as I tend to write lyrics that are not that deep (as I'm a piano player of 20 years, so the music part is definitely my thing, as you've already deduced!!!).
