ANOTHER nostalgia thread. I was getting really sick of these. They all complained about how Minecraft was better in Alpha or Beta, which I found ridiculous. I mean, I'd been playing since 1.5 but you didn't see me complaining! The new updates were action packed, with tons of cool features. I wasn't big on the new combat system, but I was learning to use it and I was decent with it.
I took a glance at the thread. I didn't catch much, but one sentence really caught my eye. I just wish we could go back to Alpha and Beta, when Notch was in charge and the game was good. And then I just sat there, thinking about it. It was ridiculous what these people thought of the new updates. Then something occurred to me-what if I granted that wish? I couldn't bring back Notch, but I could bring back old versions. Remind nostalgia people what they were like and make them rethink if they really liked these versions better or not. But not with the launcher. I could change their versions so they couldn't be changed back.
Part of me thought, Don't be silly. You're good with computers, but not that good. Besides, you'd get in major trouble. Just go play Episode 4 of Story Mode. That last part sounded tempting, but I resisted. I wanted to show the nostalgia freaks that what they were constantly talking about really wasn't that great.
I considered my options. I could do Alpha, but I didn't think it would be nearly as effective. People more commonly begged to have Beta back. So I made a decision. I would revert the accounts of every Minecraft PC player back to Beta 1.8.
