In my school, we were asked to write a free verse poem. I picked Minecraft, and my teacher gave me permission to post it here.
Here it is.
Minecraft is a
Very fun game.
It has lots of content to explore,
Especially with mods installed.
First there is Creative Mode,
Where you can build anything.
Unlimited resources are available,
You are able to fly,
And you are invincible.
More famous is Survival Mode,
Where you have to dig, mine, and chop,
Monsters come out at night,
To try to eat you.
To play survival mode,
You start by punching trees,
Making planks and workbenches,
And then your first tool,
The almighty wooden pickaxe.
Moving on to mine some stone,
You prepare to upgrade your tools,
Also making a furnace to cook and smelt.
But then you look outside,
And then you see a beautiful orange sunset.
But after a few minutes, night falls.
Then you wander around, not knowing that it might mean your end.
While you wander,
You see a weird green thing,
You walk up to it, and
SSSSSSSS…. BOOM!!!
You have died.
You respawn where you started,
And you start wandering to find your items.
After finding your items,
You return to your start.
By this time, you see the sun coming up in the east.
You decide to dig a staircase to the bottom of the world,
And you begin.
Mining out stone with your pickaxe,
You come across a strange block.
Mining it, you recognize it as iron ore.
Taking it to your outpost,
You put it in your furnace.
Later, you find a block with light blue specks.
Mining it with your iron pick,
You realize, DIAMONDS!!
Making a diamond pick,
You prepare to go to the Nether.
After making your portal frame,
You light it,
And prepare for the danger that waits ahead.
You emerge out of the portal,
To see a reddish purplish block called netherrack.
Exploring,
You find some sort of fortress.
Exploring the fortress,
You find yellow tentacle creatures called Blaze,
Killing them you get blaze rods,
Which you grind into powder.
After hours of preparations,
You find the end portal,
You activate it, jumping in,
Preparing for the ultimate challenge.
You fight the dragon,
By destroying the crystals,
Dealing the final hit,
A fountain appears next to you.
You jump into it,
Seeing the credits.
Even though the dragon is dead,
There is still so much to do,
The dimension may be called the end,
But in Minecraft, the adventure never ends.
Never… The End.

Things I support:
Nice poem, beachbum7.
Indeed, very impressive! Choosing video game as the topic of my homework was one thing I enjoyed doing back to school age.
