"Sabrina!", my brother called. "What!", I manage to yell in bed. "Come on let's go to school you're almost late!" "Ughhh....Wait What!!!" I get up and begin to rush myself. "Hahahaha!", my brother snickered" "It's Saturday, you have no school!" "Oh My God...",I screeched out. "Whatever, let's eat some cereal", he tells me. I am Sabrina and my Brother is Marcus, he may be a little mischievous but he's my brother. Gotta deal with it.



"Marcus, stop eating your cereal like that you could choke or something!" I yelled at him. Marcus was shoving cereal into his mouth as fast as he could. "But I He-", he said with his mouth full. He swallowed the cereal and said, "But I heard that if someone could do it they will win one thousand dollars!", he said with a smile on his little face.



After we ate cereal we turned on the TV... Static? "Hey let me see that!", Marcus said while grabbing the remote from my hands. He flipped through his favorite channels...Static as well. "We can go outside and play with some of your toys if you want.", I said trying to distract him from the TV. "Sure...", he said with his face low. I open the door and see everyone running.



Everything stopped, people running, smoke pouring out of buildings, and... dead people?! Marcus and I ran to the neighbours and rang the doorbell. "What is happening?", we ask the neighbour. "I don't know but you guys should leave.", he said in a calm voice. "Get into my car and let's get out of here!", he said. "But what about Mummy and Daddy?" Marcus whimpered. "I don't know Marcus", I said. Our neighbour, who is named Ellis, had a bow with his name engraved onto it and ran to the car. We got in and we drove off into the city.

Marcus and I were speechless. We drove past so many people, all pleading for help. I looked at Marcus who looked like he was about to burst into tears. I tried to calm him but he always said,"Please...Please...Stop.", he whimpered. "Yeah.", Ellis said. "It will all be fine.", Ellis said in a calming voice. After some time Marcus slowly but surely fell asleep and so did I.



Ellis bumped me, we were in an empty parking lot. "Hey whatever your name is, were here.",Ellis said with a smile. I woke Marcus up and we opened the door and walked out. We walked for fifteen minutes until we got to the mall. We got into the big building and we quietly strolled in. Marcus gripped my hand, his little tiny digits were going through the passages in my hand. "So...what are we doing?', I said with a questioned voice. "I don't know.", Ellis stammered. Ellis was sweating and holding the bow harder than usually.



After some time we encountered some people. "Hey stop right there!", the stranger said. The group consisted of a Pregnant lady, a man with a beard, and another man but with a little stubble. "Whoa Whoa Whoa!", Ellis said. "What's your name?", Ellis asked. "Amanda.", the woman said. "Baerd.", the man with the beard said. "Thomas.", the man with the stubble said. "Who are you?", Amanda said with a cautious voice. "Ellis", our neighbour said. "Sabrina.", I said. "M-Marcus.", my brother said. Marcus was shivering he looked cold. I put my arms around him and he stopped shivering.



The Other survivors were all holding bows, each looked like they had an enchantment or two. "Can we stay with you?", I said. "Yeah, can we?", Ellis said. "Sure.", Amanda said with a smile. Again we we're wandering through the abandoned mall bow in hand. We we're all tired so we thought of stopping in one of the stores so we can rest. "The electricity is still on, thank God.", Baerd said. "I know right.", Ellis agreed. We stayed in a shoe store, we locked the door and we all slept on whatever we could find. I just rested on the shoe store benches and quickly fell asleep.



I woke up to yelling. I saw Baerd and Thomas holding the door with one elbow on the bar of the door. "Come on Ellis, help up!", Thomas yelled. "I opened my eyes and sat up. "Thank God, you're awake.", Baerd said. I got up and began to help them, I put all of my weight onto the door and pushed as hard as I could. I saw Ellis run up and gently move me. "Wake Marcus up!", Ellis told me. I shook Marcus and he woke up. He sat up and wiped his eyes. "What's happening?", Marcus said as if nothing happened. "We're being attacked!", I exclaimed. "What!", Marcus said surprised. "Come on Sabrina!" Amanda said from the other side of the room.



Marcus and I ran up to the emergency exit of the shoe store and I yelled for the others to get out of there. Baerd and Ellis ran to the door. Thomas could only say,"I'll come just...wait for me..." The doors burst open. We closed the emergency exit before we could see Thomas' brutal death. "Aghhh!!!", Thomas screamed. Marcus had tears in his eye while we ran. We had to get out of the mall before the dead get us...

We had ran out of the mall while it's being overrun. Ellis, Baerd, Amanda, Marcus, and I were just pushing the dead ones aside so we could get into the forest. I spotted an iron axe on the floor and I grabbed it and continued running. Amanda was lagging behind so I thought that I should help. I pushed her forward so that she was ahead of me. I heard a walker behind me and I grabbed my axe. I stabbed my axe into the walker's head and jerked it out. Another one came and I did the same. The axe was stuck inside this time, so I grabbed it and pulled as hard as I could. I got it out and ran to the others. "Are you okay?!", Ellis said shakily. I responded with an out of breath "Yeah" and walked to hug Marcus.



"What happened to Thomas?", Amanda said in a scared voice. "He...He's dead.", I whimpered. Amanda put her head into Baerd's chest and sobbed. "Thank you for helping, Sabrina.", Amanda said. "You seem to be good with that axe.", Ellis said. "Thanks", I said with a smile. "Where do we go now?", Baerd asked. "We should go to the north."Ellis confidently said. "Why?",we all said. "Cold Winters, the dead will just freeze in place and we'd be home free." Everyone agreed accept for Amanda. "But what about my baby?" "There are many warm places there Amanda, don't worry.", Baerd said. "Well okay.", Amanda said in a surrendered voice. "Okay then let's go!", Ellis said bow in hand.



Some Time Later...



"Ellis I'm tired.", Marcus said quietly. "We're almost there.", Ellis said. There was a little house there sitting on a hill. Let's investigate...

I ran up to the group and caught my breath. "Are we north yet?", I asked in a whiny voice. Ellis confirmed that it was north by looking at his compass and showed it to me. We walked around the house and examined it. "Looks like it's abandoned!", Baerd said. Ellis opened the door slowly and looked around the room. He stepped in and looked around the room again, just to make sure. "It's okay you can come in.", Ellis said surely that the home was empty.



The group and I walked in carefully. "We should see if there's food.", Amanda said. I looked at her and nodded. Amanda and I searched and looted the rooms that might have food while the others set up camp in what I think was a living room. "Looks like we found jackpot.", Amanda said with a smile. I looked in the room which was in the kitchen and it had five cans of food. Peaches, Beans, and Soup. I grabbed the cans and brought them to the group.



Everyone was happy, we had light, a warm place, and food. "We found some candles.", Ellis said ending the silence. We ate a can that we split up and we all went asleep. I woke up when everyone was still asleep. Marcus was still sleeping like this never happened. I smiled and began to get up and get ready for another day.



I looked out the cozy little home we were in and there were people standing there...

Murmuring is hear outside... I gripped my axe tightly and started to inch my way to the door. I look over a piece of metal and see some huddled people in jackets. All holding bows, but they didn't look that aggressive. "Ellis...Ellis...Wake up!", I whispered with some concern. Ellis moved his eyes toward my direction, then towards the shadows of people near the door. He slowly got up and wiped his eyes and began to get his bow. Ellis is crawling towards the door..."Hey sis wha...!" I covered Marcus' mouth concerned while looking at the door. I pointed at the rickety door and mouthed "Bad People". Marcus nodded and looked like he was about to cry. Ellis walked quietly towards me, "They're gone, I hope." CRRRRRRACK! "AHHH!",I screamed loudly flailing my arms. "Urgg..", and unknown voice says. Amanda and Baerd come running in and look nervous. "The dead are coming in!", Ellis says. I ran towards one and began to stab it. PHHT PHHT PHHHHT! The sounds of arrows are resembling. "Who is that?",I asked. "Urggh..."

Ringing, all I heard was ringing. Not like I could stop it, just ringing. Everyone was panicked, scared, afraid but we had to be smart about this and escape while we can! Ellis starts to walk with pace towards the front door, having no emotion. I grabbed Marcus' hand and gently nudged him to go and hide. "But what about you..."Marcus said softly. "Don't worry I'll be fine, I smiled and nudged him with a little more oomph. "Help me out kid!" I ran to Ellis as quick as I could, as had my hands about to grab my axe. "Break these!", Ellis pointed at a wood slab. I had a strong grip on my axe and unsheathed it, I then began to slice at the wood. CRACK CRACK CRA- the wood had fallen off. Ellis kicks the front door down and tries to spot whatever was there. Just a few dead ones and a small backpack were the only things found. Baerd runs up to Ellis and I sweating more than ever before. "You guys okay?!", Baerd says looking at me then at Ellis. I nodded.



We had to leave before anything else had happened, so I grabbed the backpack and gestured for Ellis to "Come On." Baerd told some old joke that he said he found in a joke book before leading us to where the others were. "Marcus!", I said before hugging him. "Now that we have the group together let's go somewhere, I might know a place.", Baerd says with a smile. We start walking down some gravel road still near to the house that's probably crowded with the dead by now. "What's that place you were talking us to?", Marcus had finally said. "It's a bow store, a big one, big enough to keep us safe for days, months, years!", Baerd was now grinning wildly. Amanda splits the awkward silence by saying, "By the way, what's in that pack of yours?" "I don't know.", I responded. I opened the backpack only to see...nothing?



"Well, what's in it?", Ellis questioned. "Nothin'.", I said. He groans and rubs his face. "Might as well keep it, might be useful.", Ellis replies. We continued walking...

"Hehe...", says the strange bearded man. "Do you think 'ey saw us?", the man with the stubble says. "I don' think so.", "At least not for now."... "Now we must gather our weapons and follow that group.", the bearded man says. "Why?", says the stubbled man. "You'll learn later..." "They haven't found it yet..."



"Let's...Gun Store..." Heh looks like they're going to the gun store. "Why don't we make a little stop there?"

We we’re getting closer to the so called “Bow Store” mentioned by Ellis. We passed some dead ends but also some paths leading closer. Eventually we had ventured into a forest nearby. “Are we there yet?”, Marcus whined. “Shush, Marcus you don’t want THEM to hear us.”, I said. “Yes, but are we near?”, Marcus whispered. Our whole group stopped as soon as we heard the crunching of leaves. Amanda starts to slowly walk backwards. I quickly responded to her walking, “Amanda, don’t mo-“ An arrow just whizzed by my shoulder. My eyes widened and as quick as I could moved Amanda out of the way. Another arrow flew by and it just barely missed Ellis. “Guys we need to get out of here!”, Beard said slightly panicked.[/p]


“It’s not like we can just walk out, Baerd.”, Ellis yelled back. “AGHH!!!”, Baerd screamed. I took a glance at Baerd and tried not to scream. There was an arrow protruding out of Baerd’s abdomen. Marcus was tearing up and was breathing fast. “Sabrina?”, Marcus whispered through his cry’s. I replied with a quick, “Yes?” and Marcus responds, “I want my mommy…” Then Marcus starts bawling and sniffling. PHHT More arrows came through the leaves of the trees. I gave Marcus a long hug and let go. “What are you doing?”, Amanda, Baerd, and Ellis all said. I had grabbed Ellis bow and jumped out our tree trunk cover.[/p]


I loaded up an arrow, ready for what I will see. I fired an arrow toward the direction of the shooter. Then I fired another, and another. It seemed like I did something because the arrows stopped. “What the heck were you doing?!”, Ellis yelled. “Ellis be quiet they might still be here.”, Amanda said. “You know you still haven’t pulled this arrow out.”, Baerd nonchalantly said. “…I’ll do it.”, I said. Okay you ready? “I don’t kn-.” I had pulled out the arrow. “AGHHH!”, Baerd yelled. “Why didn’t you count down?”, Baerd said tearing up. “I don’t know.”, I said smiling. “Okay now that we got the reunion set up can we leave this place.”, Amanda said, breaking the silence. We sneaked out of our predicament that happened a few minutes ago and continued our journey. “Do you think the bad guy might be back.”, Marcus whimpered. “Heh, No we’re safe.”, I said comforting Marcus. [/p]

“Come on Amanda!”, I yelled. We can’t leave without you. Amanda was just sitting blank faced in the leaves in danger of another arrow probably about to hit her as well. “What?”, Amanda suddenly turned and said. “What are you thinking about when we are in danger!!”, I screamed towards Amanda. Okay, just come on we’re just behind the others. “I was just thinking of my other…family members.”, Amanda said then frowning. I was completely surprised on that. Eyes widened, and mistakes were regretted. I turned to face Amanda who was arms crossed and looking an entirely different area of the forest. [/p] [p] [/p]
[p] [/p] Amanda got back to the rest of our group first since she was speed walking. I caught up with Amanda and was beginning to get scared on seeing Baerd on the floor practically bleeding out. His face was covered in tears holding his bottom chest. I asked Ellis what had happened and he replied,”Another arrow…” Ellis then frowns and looks down. Baerd was clutching the arrow in his abdomen. I was about to do what I did before then Baerd rips the arrow straight out. He starts screaming and tearing up attract some of what Marcus calls “Monsters”.[/p] [p] [/p]
[p] [/p] I swiftly pulled out my axe and slashed towards the direction of the monsters. One of my slashes cut a shoulder of one and cut ones thigh. I jumped up and swiped my axe down on one of it’s head getting the axe stuck. Assist me Ellis! All of a sudden an arrow zips by my shoulder. It seems Marcus knows some bow shooting. I looked behind myself and saw Marcus holding Ellis’ bow as hard as he could. “Thanks.”, I said before turning around to grab my axe. It took some pulls but I eventually got it out. I chuckled and grinned at Marcus. Marcus was looking intently at whatever might be in the forest. [/p] [p] [/p]
[p] [/p] I glanced back at Ellis, Baerd, and Amanda who seemed to have removed the arrow lodged into his abdomen. Ellis held up the arrow and smiled. I grabbed it and placed it into the quiver of the bow. “You did great out there kid.”, Ellis said to Marcus. “Thanks…”,Marcus whimpered. Still want the bow back. “You can keep it, because you seem to be a better shot than I am.”, Ellis said. Just…be careful with it. “I will.” [/p] [p] [/p]

[p] [/p] “Hey remember that time we went sledding and I kept slipping.”, Amanda said. “I sure do hon.”, Baerd says. That striked something in my mind… Are they married?[/p]
