Just a little bit of background before I go into the story. Last year in my Creative Writing class, we were tasked with interviewing a child at a local elementary school and then writing a book featuring them. The kid I interviewed was named Liam and he loved all things Minecraft and Space. Of course, I did the logical thing and, with some inspiration from the Galacticraft Mod, wrote and illustrated this adventure of Liam going to space in Minecraft. I hope you enjoy:

One Small Step For Liam
Written and Illustrated by Onuku
Dedicated to Liam. May you always follow your dreams.
"You're doing it again," said Jordan.
His friend's voice knocked Liam out of his trance. "Doing what?"
"Staring at the moon. Come on, it's time for bed. The mobs will be out soon."
"Alright," Liam groaned as he hopped into bed. "But did you ever dream about going there?"
"Goodnight Liam."
The next morning, Jordan awoke to the sounds of crafting and clanging. He bolted to his feet and went to investigate what was going on.
"Liam? What are you doing up so early?"
Liam turned from his project to greet his friend. "I had some time to think about it, Jordan, and I realized how I can get to the moon!"
"Not this again! What are you making this time?"
Liam laughed. "A rocket ship of course!"
After weeks of mining and hard work, it was finally ready. Jordan had volunteered to stay behind as mission control while Liam traveled to the moon.
Liam set out to the launch pad while carefully avoiding creepers and skeletons.
"All clear so far, Jordan... I mean, mission control."
"Copy that, Liam. Good luck!"
He checked all the controls and got his rocket ship ready for launch.
"I don't know how this thing will get into space," Liam panted. "It's pretty heavy!"
"Just get everything ready Liam. It will work just as planned."
"Watch out for mobs, Liam!" Jordan warned. "It's getting late, and you haven't launched yet!"
"Thanks," Liam replied as he pulled out his diamond sword. "I won't let any creepers ruin this!"
Everything was ready, so Liam climbed aboard the rocket.
A mechanical voice thundered over the launch pad.
"T-minus 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Blast off!"
Pistons fired, redstone glowed, and TNT exploded as the rocket lifted from the world on a column of smoke.
Inside, Liam felt glued to his seat, but he kept a firm hand on the controls as the rocket climbed out of the atmosphere.
As suddenly as it had started, it was over. Liam could feel himself lifting from the seat as the lower gravity took over.
"Liam," Jordan called from his radio. "Are you okay?"
"Yep!" Liam answered as he undid his seatbelt. "It's amazing up here!"
He drifted towards the window to look down on his world, already shrinking to a small blue speck in space.
Liam could sense how fast he was going. The rocket zoomed through space at an unbelievable speed. Knowing the moon was quickly approaching, he began making preparations for landing.
The moon glowed through the window of the rocket as Liam prepared the landing capsule. With Liam inside, the capsule separated from the rocket, gently landing on the cratered surface.
The door hissed open as Liam took his first step on the moon. All around him was empty, untouched whiteness beckoning him to explore.
He ran off to start mining moon rock samples, collecting stacks in his inventory. Still, he checked his excitement. There's no telling what could be out here.
Liam burrowed through the rock, digging caves and searching for resources. After hours underground, he realized that he would be running out of air soon and should return to the capsule.
"Mission control, I'm low on air and will be coming home soon. I have plenty of samples for us to study!"
All he heard was static.
"Mission control? Jordan? Are you there?"
Hundreds of miles from home, Liam realized he was alone.
A crackle sounded from the other end."...Liam? I'm here!" Jordan shouted.
Liam felt relieved his friend was still there. "Glad to hear your voice again. I'll be seeing you soon!"
Now reassured, Liam hopped back into the capsule and activated the program to get him back home. With his rocket, it wouldn't take long.
When the rocket landed in the ocean, Jordan was waiting on the beach.
"How was the moon?"
"Amazing! There was so much to explore. But you know, I think I like it better here."
The illustration is a great add-on to your story, and it's great that you can photoshop or draw pictures.
Though, it seems as if the entire story was written in dialogue text; I recommend adding a few more lines describing the scenery as well as it may fit the illustration given.
In other cases, the story line is enjoyably simple, nice work.
The original story was all description with very little dialogue, but as it's a children's story, and it includes pictures, I figured the descriptions were unnecessary and wouldn't help with the kid's attention span. Just one of those things that are different between normal short stories and children's stories.
I actually did the illustrations in Illustrator, just so you know.
