Hello all, this here will be my first post of what I hope is a continuous stream of stories based on, or ideas gotten from, my adventures in the wonderful world(s) of Minecraft! I have been playing since 1.6.4 rolled around and a good friend of mine essentially gave me what is his old account, and I have never looked back, because I must say I truly enjoy this game above so many others. But anyway, on with the story! This was an idea I had a long time ago back when school bored me with hours of wasted time when I finished my work early, and one day I just wondered, what would I see, hear, feel, smell, and possibly taste if I was put in he shoes of Steve. However, instead of using first person descriptors (I, Me, My), I tried to use none at all, using only sensory details as much as possible. This is what I came up with:
Bright, blinding light. The sound of tree leaves rustling and faint sounds of animals in the distance. Feet on mostly solid though gritty ground. The scent of an orchard masking the thin air only a high altitude can give. Something strangely sweet yet tart laden in the air. Awakening, is the thought that comes to mind. The feeling of...birth, is the only way to describe it.
The light starts to give way, eyelids flutter open slowly as they adjust. Finding the courage, they spring open to a world unlike that which was known before. It still yields much of the same as the old one, despite its stupefying nature. The world appears to be made of blocks. This is apparent this because as a look in any direction creates a perimeter around the solid, cubic chunk of area being beheld. Indeed, this cubular world was one that would take some adjusting too, for even looking down at one's own feet would reveal that the world's effects and nature was not just limited to the scenery and landscape itself, for from toes to fingers to tip of the head is the human form perfectly perimetered with four-cornered faces. But, this was not shocking, for it would be shocking if the body from the previous body carried on to this world, one could assume.
The mind realizes it has simply looked upon this new world, and must experience it more. Staring back down at the ground, one foot lifts and stamps the grassy cube it was resting upon a moment prior. The sound that is heard is one to be more expected of jumping into a bale of leaves, while the feel was strange, as if there were even tinier cubes making up the entirey of the cube, and as it was disturbed it was as if it started to give, but not as the earth land of the previous world did. No, as this solid block of dirt was disturbed an outline of the disturbed dirt was shown, and more stomps would make the outline creep more towards the edges. Curiousity killed the cat, as they say, and the urge to see what happens when the outline reaches the edges and fills the entire shape is too empowering, and with a jump in the air and a hard landing, the dirt that was there just a second ago would not give way, but disappear altogether - or so one would think at first. No, standing in the cubed hole where the dirt was just a second ago, it coming up to about waist high, looking up from feet to leveled ground would show a hovering, slowly rotating block or what appeared to be dirt about two block lengths away.
A short hop and skip, not literally of course, would be all that separated one from the hovering cube, but approaching it would prove startling indeed, as the thing would shoot up with a 'ChWoop' and disappear! Looking around for the new location of the cube, spinning in circles and looking all around would prove fruitless, but something off about one's body would throw off the mind. It seemed...heavier? Why would it feel heavier? Nothing had changed from a few seconds ago, besides the dirt disappear - suddenly the cube of dirt was there, in the palm, er, tip of the arm, the feeling of one side of the dirt clinging to skin felt, its gritty nature apparent again. Was it...could it be? One way to know for sure...the dirt was brought up to the lips and given a quick but necessary tip of the tongue touch, to indeed find that it tasted of the previous world's dirt. How did it get there, is the next apparent question. Could it be...when it 'ChWoop'-ed, it did so...towards I? Did it come into being at the thought of 'appear', and if so would it...? One thought, as one looked upon the cube in hand, would test this theory.
Disappear. And so it did.
Where it could have gone onto the body, after a quick examination of it and finding the cube not poking out anywhere or any lumps in the simple clothing, would yield no answers, and yet that slightly heavier feeling from earlier had returned. Questioning the realities of this world, one would deem, was a pointless endeavor. The best thing to do was simply experiment, figure out what the realities and physics of this world are and how they work, and just move on. Speaking of moving on, after examining the dirt, the only logical step forward would be to examine the only other things around...the trees.
That's all folks, for now at least, I may continue this walk through of the Minecraft world and it's
'experiences' if I feel like writing more, which I left at a cliffhanger for that specific purpose. If you read this far, thank you, I appreciate it, and I hope you have a good day~!
