"All ready?" Notch asked.
"As we'll ever be," Warnado muttered.
Warnado125, TurtleMaster217, Protoshield86, Kilster909, and Notch were all gathered in the living room of Notch Island. They were all packed for travel, with food, weapons, and magic items. Notch was going over the traps, monsters, and secrets the Dark Dungeon held.
"The walls will be made of different types of blocks, but most of the time you should basically see stone bricks, whether they be mossy, cracked, or normal."
"Seems easy enough," Turtle said.
"How do we get there?" Proto asked.
"Entrances are scattered throughout the Overworld," Notch replied. "The closest is in Jeb's Kingdom."
"Jeb," Kilster said. "That guy."
Notch smiled. "Yes, I know you all had a rough start with my brother. But once you get to know him, he's actually a pretty nice guy."
Warnado laughed. "Good joke."
"Oh, you might need help finding it. So Agent SkyTheKidRS is here."
"FLICK!" Turtle shouted. "I hate-" Turtle stopped mid-sentence as Sky walked in, "-when people hate on SkyDoesMinecraft!"
Warnado was probably thinking the same thing everyone else was thinking. Let's kill him.
Chapter 2-Demolition: Kilster909
"I hate this place," Kilster muttered.
The group walked through Jeb's Kingdom. People were whispering about the group, seeing how odd it was for a star to be with a group of criminals. "Look," a little girl said. "It Sky! And the...criminals?"
"Please, no photos," Sky said, grinning.
"Let's get that entrance. Jeb might..."
"You again!"
Jeb strode over to the group. "I thought you died! Get out of my city!"
"Jeb," Turtle said, "do we have to get Dinnerbone to knock some sense into you again?"
"Dinnerbone's hiding in his sewers. No one will watch you die...oh wait, I meant Dinnerbone won't see you die." Jeb unsheathed his sword and swung at Warnado, who dodged backwards.
"Hide me!" Sky shouted, and jumped behind a group of teen girls walking by, who screamed. "Hey, want my phone number?"
Turtle, Proto, Kilster, and Warnado took out their own weapons: Kilster a bow, Proto a sword, Turtle Doomsblade, and Warnado a pair of magic gauntlets. "Four against an army!" Jeb shouted. "Guards!"
As the groups fought, an abnormally large guard walked through the streets towards them. "You guys are going to go out with a bang!"
An idea popped into Kilster's head. "Bang! That's it!" Kilster rushed to Jeb's castle, firing arrows wildly. Once inside, he ran down to the dungeon and opened all the Creeper's cells. He ran towards the wall, stabbing at the monsters wildly and collecting the gunpowder. Once he got to the wall, he flung a Creeper about to explode at it.
The explosion killed any remaining Creepers, and blew up the wall. They were right underneath the bay, and that's where phase two came into play: sand. Kilster swam upwards towards the surface. He then swam back towards the beach. He threw his shovel, and the whole beach fell underwater, breaking up when it hit the seafloor. Kilster dived and collected the sand, then ran back into the castle.
Once inside, Kilster crafted a crapload of TNT. He ran to the treasure room and got a bunch of redstone items. He then climbed the stairs and set up a TNT cannon.
"WATCH OUT!" Kilster screamed at his friends, and fired.
Chapter 3-Enter The Dungeon: TurtleMaster217
"HOLY-" Warnado's words were lost as a deafening boom resounded across the kingdom, blowing everything up. Turtle, Proto, and Warnado escaped, but Sky wasn't so lucky. He was lost among the giant explosions while the others dived into the entrance to the Dungeon that was revealed due to a house exploding. The entrance caved in, creating only one exit: down.
Turtle looked back at the cobble and wood now covering the entrance. "Do you think Kilster will be OK?" he asked.
"He'll be fine," Proto said. "But how did he do that that fast? That's impossible!"
"I hope Jeb died," Warnado said, leaning on the stone brick wall. "That'd be cool."
"Hey guys?" a voice called. "Stand back!"
An explosion rocked the entrance, allowing sunlight to flood in and revealing Kilster, covered in scorch marks. "Dang," he coughed. "Dat's hardcore."
They all laughed, then started the deep descent into the dungeon.
Even after two hours, the group hadn't encountered any traps or monsters. Torches lined the walls at large intervals, providing little light. The group didn't talk at all, which made Turtle uncomfortable. They might've been hearing the same voice he was hearing. You shouldn't be here. You will all die, and I will rise from this wretched opposite world...
"TURTLE!"
Proto, Kilster, and Warnado were all looking at him. "Are you OK?"
Turtle noticed that he was leaning on the wall, and straightened himself. "Yeah, I'm good..."
The group continued on, still not encountering any traps. After a while, the place split in three. One area radiated heat, another felt disturbing, and the third felt normal. The group picked the last path, hoping nothing bad would happen.
Their hope wasn't enough.
Chapter 4-The Wolf: TarisserTheWolfy
Risser's day was going bad enough when her base was attacked by zombies. But then the four explorers had to come and make everything worse.
She had traveled far and wide with her wolves, doing all sorts of competitions for gems. The Walls, Survival Games, Trouble in Mineville, and pretty much everything else. She wished her last fall off the floating island in Skywars would've killed her, but of course, nothing went her way, again.
She had finally scratched up enough gems for a tiny house in a village, but then some assassin almost killed her and took the rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. With nothing but her wolves for company, she had to move in to a stone brick room underground. She didn't know what it connected to.
A spawner was in a tunnel close by, and zombies had flooded in to her bunker. She and her wolves tried as hard as they could, but they needed help. This was Hardcore. There was no coming back.
She almost cried out in relief when she heard voices in the southern tunnel, opposite of the spawner in the north. "Help!" she yelled. "Me and my wolves can't take much more!"
The odd group rushed in. One looked normal like her, one wore a strange red armor, one was covered in a mystic robe hiding his face, and one she recognized.
Kilster909.
"Whoa!" the normal guy said. "Finally, some action!"
Purple flames came out of the mage's hands. "I'm ready."
The group started to attack the zombies. The help was great, and the zombies were cleared in a matter of minutes. The guy in red armor walked down the north tunnel and deactivated the spawner.
"What are you doing here?" Kilster asked. "Didn't anyone ever tell you not to explore a gigantic maze full of traps and monsters alone?!"
"What are my wolves, dirt?!"
The other three stood on the sidelines as the two argued. "Well," the guy in red armor said. "Should we intervene?"
The mage pulled out a View Cube. "I'm way ahead of you."
Chapter 5-What's Yet to Come: Protoshield86
The group of five continued into the depths of the Dungeon, now covered in scorch marks.
"Was it really necessary to make the roof pour lava?" Kilster asked angrily.
"Yes," Warnado replied.
"So," Proto cut in. "If you're gonna travel with us, we should know your name."
"TarisserTheWolfy," the dark haired girl answered, "but you can call me Risser."
"Have you explored?" Turtle asked. "Can you help us navigate?"
"No and no."
Everyone sighed. "Well," Proto said. "It's getting late...I think. Maybe we should set up camp."
"Not in the Dungeon," Kilster replied. "Let's break the wall and make a small cave."
Turtle got out his pickaxe and tried hitting the bricks. Nothing happened. He tried again, harder this time. Still nothing. "Well," he sighed. "I think it's enchanted to be as hard as bedrock. Now we have a little taste of the Dungeon."
"Then we'll have to camp in the hall and have someone keep watch," Warnado said. "We can switch off at two-hour intervals."
"I'm not that tired," Kilster stated. "I can take first watch."
"Wait," Turtle announced. "We don't have any beds."
"Hold on," Proto said, and took out a sort of tablet. He typed in, "Notch, can we have five beds?" and after a few seconds, a reply came on. "Server: Giving five beds to Protoshield86." "Chat!" Turtle exclaimed. "Awesome!"
"Get some rest," Kilster said. "Warnado will take second watch."
"Proto!" Proto awoke to being shaken by Risser. "Your turn," she said.
Proto sat examining his Wither Band for a while, but then he realized that the air was still. Too still. Where are all the traps? The monsters? We haven't been attacked at all! Suddenly, a strange breeze blew through the hall. "You are never safe. I will find you."
Chapter 6-A Tangled Web: Warnado125
"GUYS!" Warnado was angry when he was abruptly awoken by Proto.
"Proto!" he shouted. "Stop shouting!"
"What's up?" Turtle asked.
"It's something about this dungeon. It just doesn't feel...safe." Warnado could feel it. It was in the walls, flowing through the air...pure darkness.
"The Basilisk." Proto, Risser, Kilster, and Turtle all looked at him. "Wait, are you saying you can sense it?" Kilster asked. "You're not a Jedi, are you?"
"I agree with Proto," Risser said. "We should get moving. My wolves can smell the stench of the snake, too." One of her wolves, Linky, sniffed at the musty air, then shuddered.
Proto looked at everyone else. They all nodded in agreement. Warnado turned towards the air's flow. It lead down a dark tunnel. "That way." The group walked along. There were many crossroads, at which Warnado directed them. The blocks sometimes shifted: from stone bricks to prismarine, from prismarine to cobblestone, and so on. Risser sometimes placed torches when it was too dark to see. Eventually, Warnado stopped. "I hear something." A supernatural noise was coming from a corridor to the right. "That's the way," Warnado said. He turned to them. "Are you ready to face whatever's in there?"
"Wait, we can't be at the Basilisk yet!" Kilster said.
"Oh, it's not the Basilisssssk..." a scratchy voice said. "It is not your dessssstiny..." The group ran down the hall and stopped when they saw a dreaded sight before them. A massive black spider stood in a web that expanded over 25 blocks in length and width. In the middle of the web, there was a guy hanging from a strand of web that wrapped around his body. Behind him was an unrecognizable portal made of glass, and further back was another doorway.
"Help!" the guy hanging from the ceiling called.
"Quiet, lunch!" the spider said. "Or I'll eat you first!" The spider looked at everyone in the group, his eyes finally landing on Proto. "Ah, yes. I remember you. You defeated me and my brother once. You and your friend...what was his name? Jerald?"
"Jameson. And I will defeat you again, unless you submit now." "Ah, dear boy, that is not how the game works. Think of this as a friendly game of hide and go seek. Except you can't hide."
Chapter 7-The Doomcrawler: Kilster909
Proto has some scary friends, Kilster thought.
"Hey loser, where's your brother?" Risser shouted at the giant black spider.
"He will be ssssummoned with the blood of your allies..." it replied. "She will betray you...and he will awaken..."
During the convo, Kilster had managed to sneak over to the guy hanging from the ceiling. "Cut me down!" he whispered. "Before he notices!"
Kilster built up to where he was hanging and pulled out a knife, then proceeded to cut at the webbing. A sound wave rippled across the web, and the spider turned around."You thought you could hide from me, puny mortal? The world will know my name...the mighty Doomcrawler!"
"That's great!" Kilster called down. "Just let me cut this guy down really quick."
"Oh, OK." For a second it worked, but then the spider came to it's senses. "You can't do that!" it screamed. "You can't fool me!"
"Just did," Kilster replied. "Now," he said as the last string was cut, "let's fight!"
Turtle jumped onto the Doomcrawler with his sword raised above him, then stabbed it into the spider. Risser's wolves bit at the legs, and the rest kept it's face occupied.
"Thanks!" the guy Kilster saved said. "I'm Jason. Jason Ender."
"Good for you!" Kilster replied as he fired an arrow into the skeleton's abdomen. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm trying to kill a giant spider."
Jason looked around, then nudged Kilster's shoulder. "Look!" he exclaimed. "The web is held up by strands, like columns or supports!" He was right. Kilster looked around, then jumped off of his tower and unsheathed an iron sword. He ran to the first support and sliced it. The chasm rumbled.
"Kilster!" Risser shouted. "What are you doing?!"
"Saving your behinds!" Kilster shouted back as he cut the second support. Warnado saw what he was doing and ran to help.
"SSSSTOP!" The Doomcrawler screamed. "WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH?!?!"
"Life!" Warnado shouted." He turned to Kilster. "Go! Save the others!"
The anguished cries of the Doomcrawler were fading as the others ran through the dark tunnels.
Chapter 8-The Secret: TurtleMaster217
"Thanks a lot, donko!" Turtle shouted at Kilster. "You killed Warnado!"
The group was parked in the center of one of the corridors that led away from the web room. Everyone was doubled over, breathing heavily. Turtle was leaning on the wall, doubled over, but he was fuming.
"It's not my fault!" Kilster shouted back. "He sacrificed himself! Without him, we'd all still be in there, falling into that pit!"
"Well now Warnado is! And he was supposed to kill one of Herobrine's admins like the prophecy stated!" Turtle slumped down to the floor. "So now we're screwed.
Proto dusted some dirt off of his armor. "Look, guys, it's nobody's fault. Knowing Warnado, he's probably still alive. He'll be back soon." Proto's encouragement didn't help much, as nobody looked any happier, except the guy Kilster saved.
"So, do I get to join your team or what?"
Everyone looked at him. "Yeah," Proto sighed. "Whatever.
Nobody moved for about five minutes. The new guy kept looking around, like they were gonna hop up and do magic tricks. "So..." he said. "When do we move?"
Turtle looked at him, then at everyone else. "He's right. We should get moving."
"I'm bored," the new guy said.
"Good for you," Risser replied.
They had been walking along in silence, but without Warnado to guide them, they had no clue on where to go.
"I'm-"
"FIND A WAY TO ENTERTAIN YOURSELF."
Jason looked around, then pulled an instrument out of his inventory and proceeded to play. Proto and Kilster glanced over at it. "Dude, what's with the baritone?"
"I'm finding a way to entertain myself." Kilster and Proto shrugged, and the group continued.
The group continued for what seemed like hours, and Turtle didn't pay attention to anything except his Book of Spells. The world seemed to disappear as he read through the pages, checking all of the markings and comments that someone had written in the binding. Eventually he looked up. The air was unnaturally still. He turned around. His friends weren't behind him.
"Hello?" Turtle called into the distance.
Black mist swirled around in the tunnel, blocking Turtle's vision of what lay before him. He looked backwards, but mist clouded his vision there too. He turned forward again to see that some of it had parted, revealing a mirror. Turtle took one last look around, then walked towards the mirror.
The mirror was rectangle shaped, 2 blocks wide and 3 blocks tall. The border was made of obsidian, with a strange symbol at the top, like a star with six points. Turtle walked towards the mirror. The inside was covered with the strange mist, and when it parted, the thing inside frightened Turtle.
It was shaped like a human, but the similarities ended there. The creature was darker than the darkest shade of black possible. It had two glowing red eyes. As Turtle stared at it in horror, it's cells flipped over, and the creature looked exactly like the human in front of it, but with an evil smile. Turtle quickly drew Doomsblade a smashed the mirror.
Turtle panted heavily, and didn't stop until a human hand rested on his shoulder. Turtle turned around to find a human girl behind him, about his age, smiling. "I need your help," she said.
Chapter 9-Pizza Break: TarisserTheWolfy
Risser noticed that Turtle was panting heavily.
"What happened to you?" she asked. "You act like you've seen a ghost."
"Or worse," Turtle muttered. Risser shrugged, and they continued on.
Nothing happened for a while. The group just walked for what seemed like forever, and the wall blocks changed as they went. No mobs discovered them, or better yet, the group didn't discover any mobs. They came to a few crossroads, but they just seemed to be wandering aimlessly. Finally, Kilster announced what they were probably all feeling:
"I'm hungry."
Everyone looked at everyone, trying to see who had the food. "Jason?" Proto asked. "Do you gots any food?"
"Well, sure! I'm a pizza delivery guy!" Jason pulled some pizzas out of his inventory. "Dig in!"
"Good pizza," Proto said with a mouthful of pepperoni.
"Agreed," Risser replied.
"Let's continue," Turtle said, who hadn't eaten anything. He just sat there, staring off into the distance. He pulled out some type of book, but closed it quickly as he noticed Risser peering over his shoulder. She only caught a glimpse, but she knew what he was looking up: memory spells.
Chapter 10-Shattered: Protoshield86
"Proto?" Risser whispered.
"What?"
"Turtle's looking up memory spells."
"So?"
"You're his best friend."
"And?"
"Ask him about it."
"Why?"
"It seems important to him."
"It isn't any of my biz."
"I know, but we can't have any distractions. If the Basilisk is down here..."
"OK. Fine. You win."
Proto ran forward a little to catch up with Turtle. "Hey, I noticed you were looking up memory spells. If you need something removed from your brain, I always have the Lapis-"
"No," Turtle said wistfully. He seemed to be lost in thought. "I need my memory. I wake up in a wooden shack, with no memory, and feel like something's missing..."
"Hmm...maybe...you're newly spawned?"
"No, not that...there's something there, in my memory, but I can't remember it. It has something to do with the three brothers. When they first met me..."
Proto understood. He did notice earlier that they had looked at him strangely, like he was someone they knew...
"Can I see that?" Proto pointed at the Book of Spells.
"Sure, but don't-"
"Infernacos!" Jason caught on fire and dropped his baritone. "HOT!"
"Not so bad yourself...," someone said slyly.
Proto looked around. "Who said that?"
Turtle snatched the book out of Proto's hands. "Uninfernacos!" Jason's fire was put out, but not without burns. Proto continued looking around, until he noticed a girl sitting in the corner, looking up at them.
"Are you lost, little girl?" Proto asked jokingly.
"This 'little girl' has a name, idiot," the girl replied, and cut Proto's lip.
Proto was instantly attracted to her. OK, no jokes...
"What are you doing here? It's not safe down here. You could get hurt, or-"
"I can handle myself, fool. But I'm running out of supplies. Can I come with you guys?" Proto looked at everyone else with eyes that said, Please? She's hot!
"Sure," Kilster answered. "But, um, we shouldn't stop moving. We're kinda being chased by a giant spider."
"That's cool," she said. "I'm Vanessa, by the way. Let's go!"
Chapter 11-Reunion: Warnado125
Warnado crashed through the wall of the dungeon on a blue Netherbeast with Herobrine in it's mouth. "Hey friends! I'm back! Have some Herobrine!" The Netherbeast tossed the Dark Master to the ground.
"Oh," Proto said.
"How did you survive?" Kilster asked.
"Magic Portal! I went to the 9th dimension to save the Universe Gem and-"
"Sorry for asking."
Herobrine started getting up. He shot his arms out in a sort of pushing movement, and Jason flew backwards into a pit of lava. "NO!" Vanessa shouted. "You cruel monster!"
Warnado's Netherbeast slammed into Herobrine and sent him sprawling. Herobrine immediately got up and put his hands on his temples. Warnado did the same movement, signalling a mental showdown between the two of them.
In Warnado's mindscape, him and Herobrine stood looking at each other from two glass platforms floating above The Void. "Foolish mortal," Herobrine laughed. "You think you can defeat me in a battle of wits?"
"Of course not," Warnado replied. "I'm just buying time." Realization dawned on Herobrine's face as, in the real world, Risser stabbed him. Warnado's mindscape faded, zapping him back the present. Herobrine was clutching his stomach, holding the spot where Risser had stabbed him. The others were looking down into the pit of lava of which Jason had fallen into. "Netherbeast, you are dismissed," Warnado said, and the Netherbeast crashed into a wall and ran off. For a second, everything was quiet.
"That was easy."
A giant spider crashed through the wall. "Hello lun-I mean, friends!"
"Crap," Turtle muttered. "This guy."
Too late, Warnado realized his mistake. He turned back to the place Herobrine was and saw that he had teleported away.
Chapter 12-The Fate: Kilster909
"Crap," Warnado muttered.
"Friends!" The Doomcrawler hissed cheerfully. "I'm sorry for trying to eat you. I've decided to help you!"
"How do we know we can trust you?" Kilster asked cautiously.
"Because I'm a spider, and spiders always tell the truth!"
Kilster looked at the others. Proto shook his head. He turned back to the Doomcrawler. "What do you want to help us with?"
"I wanted to tell you all your fates!" the arachnid smiled-or tried to, he was a spider. He looked at each of them in turn. "You are going to die most painfully!" it said to Vanessa. "You are going to fight my brother! Twice!" it said to Proto. "You're going to drown!" it said to Kilster. "You are going to lose your arm!" it said to Turtle. "You are going to go insane!" it said to Risser. "And you are going to kill a large snake!" it said to Warnado.
"That's nice," Vanessa replied.
"You have fun with that," Risser said.
"Fine! Don't heed my warnings. But you all have a fate set out for you. And you don't even know who your true enemy is..." The Doomcrawler turned around and scurried back the way it came.
"That was dramatic," Turtle said.
For some odd reason, Kilster actually believed the spider. You will drown...
"Hey, guys? I think we should get going," Kilster stuttered.
Chapter 13-The Uh-oh Feeling: TurtleMaster217
Who is she?
This very thought had ran through Turtle's mind several times since he had left the Mirror Room. She seemed so familiar...like she should be important, but Turtle couldn't remember. He had long since started to wonder if there was more to the shack he woke up in then met the eye.
They had long since left the tunnel that the Doomcrawler had predicted their "fates" in, and were still wandering the dungeon. "Do we even have a goal?" Risser asked.
"Kill a large snake," Warnado replied. "Happy time."
Suddenly, as if by magic, a voice, just like the one of the girl, rang through Turtle's mind. Distract them. Left. Turtle looked at the others, but they seemed unaffected. Turtle hesitated. The dungeon had already given them lots of surprises, and Turtle felt that there was a chance that he could lose his arm pretty easy if he wandered away with some girl he didn't know. Or at least, thought he didn't know.
As the group continued, Turtle noticed that, in the distance, the path split in three. The group was almost at the crossroads..."I wonder who's going to go crazy first," Proto said.
"What's wrong with you people!?" Turtle shouted.
"It's already started...," Proto joked. He looked at everyone else. "That's not funny."
Turtle whirled on him. "You're annoying!" He turned to Risser. "You're deranged!" He turned to Kilster. "You're insane!" And finally to Warnado: "You're mentally challenged!"
Warnado shrugged. "Eh, that's fair."
"You people are crazy!" Turtle shouted. "I'm getting out of here." And, like the girl said, he stormed to the left.
"I'm here," Turtle said. "Happy?"
The girl rolled her eyes. "You didn't have to come, I just thought that you would want to help retrieve your Elemental Weapon!"
Turtle unsheathed Doomsblade. "This is the only Elemental Weapon I need."
"But you're not good with swords." Turtle was taken aback at the comment. How does she know that? "Bows. You like bows. You're good with bows."
"How did you know that? Are you psychic?"
"No. That's Lyra's job." Turtle caught his breath at the elf girl's name. He had had a crush on her since he met her, but now that he had met this girl...
The girl sighed. "Look, I'm sorry for all of this. I know that Notch gave you your mission, to kill the Lich and his clones, but we-" she gestured to her and her two comrades, who Turtle hadn't noticed "-think that the Basilisk isn't in the Dungeon."
"What do you mean?"
The girl sighed. "Dravven?"
One of the guys behind her, who must've been Dravven, looked at Turtle. "A long time ago, when Destruction (or Darkness, whoever you prefer) died, he split-"
"-his Scepter into five parts: Nether Star, Basilisk Fang, Creeper Heart, Dragon Egg, and the Lich's Scepter. I already know that part," Turtle responded.
"But, we have reason to believe that the Lich's Scepter, the shell of Destruction's original, can control the Clones."
Turtle pondered this. "So, you think wherever we're going, the Lich is gonna be there, and he'll have the Basilisk with him." Dravven nodded.
The girl checked her watch. "We should be going."
As she turned to leave through the Dungeon exit, Turtle asked, "What is your name?"
She turned to look at him. "Samantha."
The sunlight hurt Turtle's eyes, but his heart ached more.
He knew he should know Samantha. She was somewhere in his memories. Same with Dravven. He was going to ask them as soon as he got the chance, but their group of four seemed to have a tension between them. As they strolled through the plains, Turtle contemplated what to ask, but then the unnamed person stopped. He then bent down, concealed in the tall grass.
"What is it, Chase?" Samantha questioned, but Chase only gestured to hide in the grass.
Turtle frowned. "Dude, this isn't Pixelmon. Why should we-" He was cut off by a bandit grabbing Samantha and putting a gun to her neck while another leaped out of the grass and pointed a gun at Turtle. "Boy, I need me some Emeralds! Why don't you give them to me? Then I won't have to clean your blood off the grass!"
Chapter 14-The Cliffs of Insanity: TarisserTheWolfy
"Well, he's screwed." Warnado said.
"That's positive thinking," Vanessa replied.
"I knew something was up!" Risser exclaimed. "I knew he had something up his sleeve! But why? And what, for that matter?"
The group sat and thought for a second. "Well," Proto said, breaking the silence. "What good is it to sit around? Let's keep walking." And they did, walking through the seemingly endless dungeon, with its ever-changing walls and mediocre traps. Eventually, Proto stopped.
"What's up?" Kilster asked.
"I'm out of torches," Proto responded. "Anyone got anything?"
They all looked at each other. "Well," Risser said. "This dungeon has to be broken somewhere. A cave must intersect it, or there has to be a chest with coal."
"That's right!" Proto said. "There has to be a chest somewhere. It's still considered a normal dungeon, right?"
"Yeah," Warnado said. "But it's dark ahead. Without any torches, how are we supposed to find said chest?" Easy, a voice said. You don't.
"Shut up, monster," Kilster hissed. "We're trying to figure out how to get coal."
An Enderman teleported into their chamber, and glared down at him. "Really? Ignore me? The most advanced and intelligent species in all of Minecraftia, created by Darkness himself?"
"Yes." The Enderman whacked Kilster across the tunnel, and he slammed into the wall. The other heroes drew their weapons.
"Oh, you don't want to do that," the monster laughed. "Lord Herobrine only requires one of you to summon it. He glared down at Risser. "You." The Enderman grabbed her and teleported out of the dungeon, into an Extreme Hills biome, where it dropped her on the ground.
"What're you...put me back!"
"I'll be back for you soon, my friend. Very, very, soon." And with that, the tall, shadowy creature teleported away.
Chapter 15-Pointless Chapter: Protoshield86
WARNING: THIS CHAPTER IS SO INCREDIBLY POINTLESS. AND CHEESY. LOTS OF CHEESE IN THIS CHAPTER.
"OK..." Proto said. "Two gone. Who next?"
Kilster shrugged. "Let's keep going. Actually, I'm bored. Walking is boring. Let's find an exit so we can go do something fun."
"But Notch said-"
"Forget him. I'm not walking through this place anymore. Let's go find a Burrito Noteblock or something to eat. I'm starving."
Proto looked at everyone else. "I could go for some food," Vanessa said.
Proto sighed. "OK, now, where do we find an exit?"
Warnado glanced around. "Probably where the loud screams of joy are coming from."
It was almost night when they exited the Dungeon. The screams of joy were coming from-
"A comedy club. Hooray."
"It must be good," Kilster replied. "People are laughing."
"People laugh at anything nowadays. Fine, let's go."
The group entered the club, which was illuminated by redstone lamps. And there were no chairs.
"Well, this place is a rip-off," Kilster said. "This better be good..."
"And now, welcome our fantastic comedian, HuskyMudkipz!" the host announced.
"Nope. This is gonna suck."
"Mud! Kip! Mud! Kip!"
"This $h1t is entertainment?" Vanessa asked. She started throwing popcorn at the usher, then stormed out of the building. Proto, Warnado, and Kilster followed her.
"I thought it was pretty funny," Kilster said. Vanessa started throwing popcorn at him.
"Kilster got his crappy break," Warnado replied. "Let's go find the large snake and kill it."
(Told you it was pointless.)
Chapter 16-World of Darkness: Warnado125
The group started to keep walking, like they had been the past couple of days, through the twisted labyrinth that was the Dark Dungeon. They hadn't seen a trial or a trap for quite a while, and knew that trouble would come looking for them soon enough.
Or maybe they'd stumble upon trouble accidentally.
Eventually, Warnado stepped on a pressure plate, and arrows started shooting out of dispensers (which were hidden behind vines). Everyone, desperate for their own lives, ran off, leaving Warnado behind.
"Guys?" Warnado called, but they had already sprinted off. He was alone. But, sadly, he was used to it.
He wandered, helpless, through the endless corridors. Eventually he found a small room. A dead end. But, there was something inside.
The beast was dragonlike. It had multiple heads. Warnado bowed. "Hail Hydra. What have I done to have been honored with your presence?"
One of the heads tilted. "Hm. You must be a true master of darkness to know who I am. It isn't what you've done; it's what you haven't done."
"What do you-"
"The mirror has instructed me to instruct you. He has plans to expand his domain. Maybe even to escape."
"The mirror?"
"Not important. But, he told me that you shall be the one to create his first experimental shadow dimension. He gave me power. Power to be bestowed upon you, Warnado125."
Instantly, Warnado felt powerful. He didn't need his friends. He could create this dimension. Darkness was his ally.
"Now go! Create the dimension! The world of darkness is yours!" And with that, the world went dark.
There was nothing. Just darkness that spread forever. Warnado sat in the unstable fabric, and decided that he should create something new out of it. His thoughts became reality, and an island appeared. It was small, so Warnado decided to make it bigger. It spread, and stopped once again. Warnado then surrounded it with water. Little by little, his world took shape until it became an oceanic world, dotted with islands. Warnado then created animals, mainly dragons, to populate the shadow world. For now, his world was finished. It was time to move on to bigger and better things.
Revenge.
Chapter 17-Double Contessa: Kilster909
"Man, we suck at this stick together thing," Proto noted.
"Do you think find any of the three of them?" Kilster asked.
"They can survive on their own," Vanessa replied. "From what I've seen, at least. Plus, Risser has her wolves..."
"But where to now? Warnado was supposed to fight the Basilisk...should we continue without him?"
The group of three stood contemplating their options for a couple seconds. Vanessa was about to speak, but was interrupted by an explosion.
"Hello, friends!"
"Crap."
The Doomcrawler spider-grinned down at the group. "Who wants some...tater tots?"
"No one." Kilster sighed.
"How about some...tater tots?!"
"No."
"You should have-"
"NOBODY WANTS YOUR FLIPPING CRAPPY TATER TOTS."
"I wasn't gonna offer you those, what do you think I am, stupid?"
"Yes," Proto said.
"Then I guess you don't want these...Fantastic Sketchpads!"
"What the flip-"
The Doomcrawler ran back into the passage he came from. Having nothing better to do, Proto, Kilster, and Vanessa followed. It was hard to move, seeing as the spider had left puddles of acid and cobwebs everywhere he went. But, the group eventually made it into a large circular chamber, where the Doomcrawler crouched onto the ground.
"Hello, friends! Before I give you Fantastic Sketchpads, which, by the way, allow everyone to see everything everyone else has written or drawn, I want you guys to play my favorite card game with me!"
"But-"
"I'll throw in a grappling hook for the winner!"
Kilster had to admit, the Doomcrawler had a taste in games.
The card game was called Coup. It involved coins, and killing each other off. Each player had two cards, and each card did different things, like blocking assassinations and stuff like that. They didn't play because of the grappling hook. The Doomcrawler had brought up how he was hungry, and Kilster didn't want to be there when he ran out of tater tots.
"I pay three coins to assassinate Proto!"
"I have Contessa, I block assassination."
"I challenge!"
Proto showed his card. Kilster threw one of his cards in, declaring it dead, while Proto switched out his Contessa.
"I am the Ambassador, I trade in my hand," Vanessa said.
"I am the Captain, I take two coins from Proto," the Doomcrawler announced.
"I am the Captain, I block."
The game continued for a while, until Proto and Kilster were the only ones left.
"I pay three coins to assassinate Proto!" Proto looked at his hand. "Don't say you have Contessa, you traded him-"
"I am Contessa, I block!"
"I CHALLENGE!"
"BAM!" Proto slammed his card on the floor, which showed Contessa. "DOUBLE CONTESSA, FOOL!"
Kilster cursed.
"GG!" the Doomcrawler said. "Now," the spider turned deadly serious. "There's something I need to tell you guys."
"Is there another prize?"
"No," he said gravely. "Unless death is a prize."
Chapter 18-The Camp: TurtleMaster217
The bandit laughed. "Kid, your over your head. Now, either one of you coughs up the emeralds, and it has to be emeralds, no rubies or sapphires, then one of you gets it."
"That's nice," Turtle replied, "but can you back the crap up? We don't have any-"
"Keep talking, your time is still just as short."
"But if you kill one of us, then the others will go all MLG on you."
The bandit nodded at one of his other guards, who weld a crossbow, pointing directly at Dravven. "You were saying?" The exchange was interrupted by a growl. The bandit looked around. "What was...go find that wolf!" Two more bandits started moving towards the group, when one was tackled to the ground by a grey form that Turtle vaguely recognized.
"Linky?"
The greedy bandit tore his gaze back to Turtle, but to late, for Turtle had impaled him with Doomsblade. The life escaped the bandit's eyes as he fell to the ground. The other bandits had already been taken out by Linky, who was now sniffing the ground. Why is Linky here? Did something happen to Risser?
Turtle would have to save that problem for another time. Now, they needed food. And he was pretty sure the bandits had some. "Let's search the tents."
The four split up, each taking a different tent. Turtle looked through his, trying to find any sign of food. Bandits had to live too. Turtle picked up a piece of paper, with very faded writing. Turtle could make out: "Jeb ordered...The Lich's...Ice Castle...The Chosen Ones shall...killed."
Oh. So now Jeb was arranging their death. How wonderful.
The group met up in the middle of camp. Luckily, Chase had found some bread. They sat down and ate.
"Dravven, Chase," Turtle said. "I need you guys to go to Jeb's Kingdom. See what they're up to." He handed them the note he found on the ground.
Chase and Dravven quickly scanned through it. "OK," Dravven said. "Why us?"
Turtle wanted some alone time with Samantha, to see if she knew anything about his past, and to fix the issues Turtle had already managed to create between them. "Um...because..."
"I was the first one to meet Turtle, and we have some unfinished business." Turtle looked at Samantha. Suddenly, he didn't want to be alone with her. Unfinished business didn't sound too good...
Chapter 19-The Hunt: TarisserTheWolfy
Madness.
That's what the Enderman wanted. He wanted TarisserTheWolfy to descend into madness. But that was not gonna happen. Not on her watch.
Risser huddled in a cave, with a fire to keep her warm. By some miracle, her wolves had found her, and she was feeling good. The only bad feeling she had was in the pit of her stomach. So, she stood up, stretched, and walked out of the cave. "I'll be back," she called over her shoulder to her wolves. And she ran into the forest.
She didn't need weapons. She was a wolf, devouring her prey raw, yet still collecting the materials she could use to renovate the crevice she called home. The spruce and oak trees were cover enough, allowing her to sneak up on any animals easily. Within an hour, she was full.
She exited the forest, and headed towards the illuminated entrance of the cave. She walked in, and saw her wolves curled up, fast asleep on the floor. After her hunting trip, Risser felt tired as well. She curled up with some leather she looted from a cow, and sleep soon found her.
Chapter 20-Red Sand: Protoshield86
"Really? I thought we've been over this," Proto sighed, putting his hand into his pocket and gripping his last resort item, the Witherband. "I thought you had changed."
"I'm not gonna kill you! But...it will."
"'It'? What's 'it'?" Kilster inquired.
"'It' is a fearsome spider, a lot like me. It's name is-"
The Doomcrawler was interrupted by an explosion. A giant...thing burst through the Dungeon wall, growling.
"I love how this Dungeon is supposed to be indestructible."
The creature was beastlike, and had a laser cannon on its back. It also had a tattoo on its side, which read: Warnado Inc. Need a Shadow Dimension Beast? I'm too lazy to make it rhyme, taco.
"Is that the beast?" Vanessa asked.
"No...what to heck is it?"
"Warnado," Proto and Kilster said in unison.
"He probably got mad at us for losing track of him in that arrow trap!"
"Well, you should be going. If you ever get lost," The Doomcrawler threw a few sketchpads at the group. "Use those."
"What are-" Proto dodged a cannon blast. "Never mind, we'll figure it out!" As the group ran through the hole in the wall, followed closely by Warnado's Shadow Beast, Proto heard the Doomcrawler shouting behind them.
"Beware the Dunecrawler!"
"I have an idea!" Vanessa shouted over the noise. "It's gonna be disgusting, but trust me! Get the thing's mouth open!"
Proto stole a glance backwards. From what he could tell, the beast didn't HAVE a mouth. Regardless, him and Kilster stopped and faced it. Kilster pulled out a bow, and Proto his Witherband. "How the flip is that gonna help us?!"
"Trust me!" Proto shouted, and shoved the band onto his wrist. He felt a tingling sensation, and was cloaked in a fiery inferno. Kilster and Vanessa ducked behind a fallen pillar, and Proto transformed into the Wither. Now, how do I work this thing?...Um...fire right? Proto's right head shot out and hit the beast, who was confused by this development.
"Let's go!" Vanessa tilted her head. They couldn't understand him. What is this language? Proto didn't have much time to think about it, because Warnado's beast charged again, roaring.
Vanessa took the initiative, taking out her grappling hook and firing it into the beast's mouth. It grabbed something, and Vanessa retracted it, pulling out something gross, red, and pulsing. The beast stood in shock, then fell to the ground, dead.
"Wow, that was violent," Kilster commented. Off, Proto thought, and he turned human again, holding the Witherband in his hand.
"What was that all about?" Vanessa asked.
"Long story. Now, let's continue."
The group didn't have to go far. Proto passed multiple pillars, made of red sandstone. One showcased an ingraving of the Wither, and another featured a face, covered in shadow, completely featureless except for two eyes. "Proto!" Kilster called. "You gotta see this!"
Proto descended the steps, and entered a chamber that seemed to stretch on forever, covered in sand. A sun glowed harshly above, creating searing heat. There was a sign, covered in dust, lying broken on the ground. Proto walked over to it.
"Welcome to Vertha."
Chapter 21-Xander and Kaine: Warnado125
Warnado's work was done.
The Shadow Beast was going after Kilster, Proto, and Vanessa, and his Shadow Dimension was thriving. He decided that the Dimension could run itself, and decided to go back to the Overworld. He woke up in a plains biome, bordered by hills, near a village. Screams of agony attacked his ears. Warnado decided to go join the fun.
The Villagers were being harassed by an Enderman and a Wither Skeleton. They both attacked viciously, and the Villagers couldn't defend themselves. Warnado pulled out a sword. "Can I play?"
Warnado left the village as it burned, laughing evilly. The Enderman, holding onto the Wither Skeleton, teleported next to Warnado, surprising him. "Do you guys want to help me find my 'friends'?" The two looked at each other, and nodded in unison. "Hmm..."
Warnado looked at the Wither Skeleton. "I'll call you Xander." He turned to the Enderman. "And I'll call you Kaine. Now," he said, turning towards the hill. "Let's go make some enemies."
Chapter 22-A WARM Welcome: Kilster909
"What is this?" Kilster asked. "Some sort of Desert?"
Proto looked around at the sea of sand. "Wow, you're bad at this."
Vanessa stared out into the distance. "Hey look, I think I see a village."
The group walked through the desert. Kilster started feeling very dehydrated. "They better have a well there, or a gift shop."
The footprints left in the sand were swiftly blown away by the harsh sandstorm. The village was inhabited by sand golems. "Hey look! Gift shop!" Kilster quickly ran inside.
"We don't have any emeralds!" Kilster was already inside. "Ugh," Proto said. "I hope they accept salami as payment."
The Gift Shop was filled with random crap that was useless on multiple levels. It was actually kind of sad. "Titanium Chocolate...Bottled Coal..." Vanessa muttered. "What do these guys take us for, idiots?"
"Welcome idiots!" a sand golem said. "Can I interest you in some...beet whips?"
"No," Kilster said. "Do you guys have water?"
"What do you take us for, humans?" Everyone in the Gift Shop laughed.
"Fine," Proto said, picking up a piece of paper that read: Map of Vertha. "Hey, can we get one of these?"
The sand golem tensed. He leaned over to another sand golem. "Quick, take those off the list."
"I'm afraid we're gonna have to ask you guys to leave."
The golems kicked-literally, kicked-the heroes out of the store. Vanessa stood up, brushing herself off. "Harsh."
"Psst," a sand golem said, peeking his head out of his house. "You're the heroes of the prophecy! I'm assuming you're here to find the Basilisk? I have a map, no charge! But don't tell anyone where you got it."
Kilster checked the map. "OK, where is it at?"
"Check restricted areas. Especially the sand mines."
"Here they are. The sand mines."
The sand mines were covered with drawings carved into the sandstone, depicting multiple rooms found in the Dark Dungeon. It also had a picture of the Basilisk, and pictures of two giant spiders fighting a hero. They continued on, until they say a staircase descending downwards. Before his friends could warn him, Kilster stepped forward, onto a pressure plate. "What the-"
A sand whirlpool opened up beneath Kilster, and he was sucked downwards, away from his friends.
Chapter 23-The Ring of Light: TurtleMaster217
Turtle and Samantha wandered through the forest. Sunlight filtered through the leaves of the trees. Flowers and berries grew off of the gravel pathway. Bunnies and deer could be spotted, but they didn't come close to the pathway, and when they did, they quickly ran off.
"Do you know where we're going?" Turtle asked.
"Yes, I do. If you would just trust me, then-"
Turtle climbed a tree to get a better view of the surrounding area. He noticed a mammoth tree that must've been at least 120 meters wide and who-knows-how-tall. "Um, is there supposed to be a menacing tree there?"
"Yes, that's the World Tree. It was very important long ago, when the kingdom was ruled by Queen Terra. Now, it stands, protecting the world from any harm."
"Well, it's not doing a very good job. By the way, what kingdom? Jeb's?"
"No, not his. Come on, you have much to learn."
Turtle and Samantha continued into through the forest, towards the tree. Turtle suddenly noticed something about these Oak trees. "Are those Golden Apples?"
"Yes. The World Tree can work wonders, can't it?"
Turtle was about to reply, when the sound of hoofbeats broke the peace that the forest held. "Enemies?"
"Elves," Samantha said, and ran forward, towards the noise. Turtle reluctantly followed. They didn't have to run long, though. Soon, they came across three Elves and their deer-not horses, deer-and Turtle barely avoided being trampled. He scrambled backwards and stood up besides Samantha. One of the elf's eyes widened, but she quickly snapped out of it. But not before Turtle recognized her.
"Lyra."
The castle was insane.
For one thing, most of it was outdoors. The stone walls were accompanied by Lapis Luzuli blocks, and water flowed from fountains embedded in the walls. The doors were 12 meters high, and the castle was at least 40 times that. And the top held a magnificent view of the World Tree and the surrounding forest. However, Turtle barely had enough time to take it in before Lyra led them inside.
"This castle used to be completely outdoors," Lyra said. "The inside wasn't built until recently. Dinnerbone asked us to build it, so the Warriors of Light could use it as their headquarters."
"Warriors of Light? Why hasn't Dinnerbone told me about that?"
"You have much to learn." Turtle frowned at this. "He probably didn't tell you because he gave leadership to someone else."
"Who?"
"He's not here right now. His real name is Markus, but we call him-"
"Junkboy!" A man wearing a wrestling mask jumped up and pretty much scared the living crap out of Turtle.
"Next time," Turtle panted, "warn me before you give me a heart attack."
"I'm sorry, friend! Wait..." Junkboy eyed Turtle suspiciously. "Is he the-"
Lyra nodded. "I was about to get Celestia, so she could give him the ring."
"You guys realize I'm standing right here? You don't need to speak about me in third person."
"I'll get her." Samantha walked away.
"So," Junkboy said. "You know Dinnerbone?"
"Yeah, we met once. However, we couldn't talk much because Jeb decided it would be a good idea to try and kill us."
"Ah, Jeb. I remember when he wasn't insane...but then he had to go and try to kill Herobrine, and almost die."
"Jeb fought Herobrine?"
"You have much to learn, my friend."
"Why does everyone keep saying that?"
The World Tree was even more beautiful up close.
Enchanted Golden Apples grew in the branches of the tree. Roots seeped into the ground and absorbed energy from the Overworld itself. The most crazy part though, was that there was a ring made of pure Light suspended inside the tree, with a beam of light like a beacon cutting through it.
"Is this that ring you guys were talking about?"
"Yeah," Celestia said. Turtle couldn't place it, but there was something familiar about her...
"What do you want me to do?"
"Touch the ring."
"OK, I though there was gonna be some sort of dramatic test or trial. I'm surprised nothing's guarding the one remaining source of Light energy."
"It can handle itself. Hopefully it finds you worthy."
"And if it doesn't?"
"You get deleted from existence."
"Oh..."
Turtle cautiously walked up to the ring. Hesitantly, he touched it. He was immediately surrounded in Light, and energy flowed through him. When it cleared, the ring was on his left hand. Spots were everywhere in Turtle's vision.
"My eyes!"
"Hey, you're not dead!" Lyra said.
"Crap," Samantha muttered.
"I'm blind, not deaf!"
"Don't worry," Celestia said. "It should clear up soon...I hope."
"You guys are terrible at your jobs."
Turtle, Samantha, Lyra, Junkboy, and Celestia sat around the campfire. Turtle munched on a Golden Apple he had plucked from one of the trees. "Let's sit around the campfire and sing our campfire-"
"Please, no."
The group sat in silence for quite a while. "Lyra," Turtle said. "Why are you here? And where's Rana?"
Lyra hesitated. "Um, I-"
The fire suddenly grew into a giant inferno. "What the-"
Multiple Elves pulled bows off of their backs and started firing arrows into the inferno. It did absolutely nothing. Turtle pulled out the Book of Spells. Lyra's eyes widened. "Wait, don't-"
Turtle shouted a spell, and rapidly all of his energy drained. The last thing he saw was the laughing face of Warnado as he blacked out.
Chapter 24-The Forest: TarisserTheWolfy
The deer didn't take notice of either Risser or her wolves; it was too focused on chewing grass. Risser's wolves sat silently, waiting for Risser's signal of attack. She was watchful, waiting for something, anything to dare break her focus. When nothing decided to, she dropped her arm, and the wolves attacked.
The scent of blood and grass did NOT mix well. However, there was only one way to survive, and that was to eat. It was either this, or farming. Risser was NOT going to be reduced to farming.
As they made their way back to camp, Risser made sure to be wary of skeletons, spiders, and other hostile creatures. However, none seemed to pay her any attention as she made her way back to the cave she used as camp.
Risser started working on a cooking fire. While it was getting warmed up, she decided to go outside. Eventually she found herself gazing at the stars, looking for constellations. One of them showcased the Elemental Symbol of Nature, a leaf. It seemed to glow in the night sky, calling for a way out.
"Just a little further!" Risser said. The hill was tall, but Risser's prize was on the other side: a village. However, what she saw below her wasn't what she was expecting.
The village was in flames. In the fiery inferno that blazed before her, there was no way there could be any survivors. Risser went down the observe the wreckage. The place hadn't been set ablaze long, and this was the work of an outside force. Bandits? Gargoyles? But then it hit her.
Warnado.
Suddenly, it seemed a lot colder, even though there was still a lot of fire. Risser realized it wasn't just mental, but physical. In the distance, an icy mountain was bordered by an ice spikes biome. One thing in the biome, however, caught her eye. On the mountain, there was a castle made entirely of ice.
And there were three sets of footsteps leading towards it.
Chapter 25-The Sandstone Mine: Protoshield86
Once again, Proto felt the sheer terror of what the Dungeon could create.
An entire sand world, full of traps, and no way to tell the real from the hallucinatory. But they knew for certain that one trap wasn't a hallucination. And that was the one that took Kilster.
There was no way to tell whether or not Kilster was dead. The Dungeon was unpredictable. But, if he was alive, they would find him. But first, they had to find the Basilisk, and hopefully, kill it.
Alone, Proto and Vanessa traveled through the sand mines. Proto noticed that they shared a lot of traits with abandoned mineshafts, but in a more sandy format. Rare ores such as Silver, Onyx, Ruby, and Sapphire appeared in clusters in the sandstone, casting faint glows in the dark tunnels. Proto pulled out a torch, lighting it and holding it out in front of himself. Every once in a while, a scuttling noise echoed in front of them, but they never saw the creature that made it.
Proto jumped as something touched his hand, but was surprised to find Vanessa's own hand, wrapping around his so that they wouldn't lose each other in the darkness. Proto smiled. Her hand was warm and comforting, yet held just as much fear as Proto's.
They, two people with little experience, were about to tackle the very creature that killed Steve's brother. Both of them had every right to be afraid. If they hadn't been stupid and left Warnado, the job would be a lot easier. But, they lost him, and now had to do his job to make up for it.
Eventually, there was light shining from ahead. They were so close to the chamber. However, there was a spider blocking their path. It didn't attack, it only turned around and scurried through the doorway that led to the chamber that was filled with light.
Proto and Vanessa looked at each other. They were still holding hands, and it wasn't just for losing each other in the darkness anymore.
Together, they went through the doorway, but inside, they didn't find the Basilisk. Instead they found a giant sand-colored spider.
The Dunecrawler.
Chapter 26-Attack of the Large Snake: Warnado125
First, the fire. Now, the ice.
Warnado, Xander, and Kaine headed towards the Ice Castle, in hopes of making it their home. The snow was at least 8 inches, and was growing every minute with the insane blizzard. Penguins slid on ice, occasionally bumping into each other and, in one penguin's case, falling through the ice into the freezing water below. No matter how cold it was, Warnado couldn't feel anything. As the team continued, Warnado couldn't help feeling that they were being followed. Snap.
Warnado's eyes suddenly felt more focused, along with his clouded brain. Was he under a spell? Why did he attack his friends? It was an accident that they left him. Xander and Kaine obviously sensed it. They both turned and stared at him, but they didn't attack. Whether he was under a spell or not, Xander and Kaine would follow Warnado.
Warnado was confused. Where was he going? Where were Proto, Kilster, and Vanessa now? And what about Risser and Turtle? What were they doing? Warnado looked at the ice castle. He would find answers there.
"Warnado!"
At his name, Warnado turned around and saw a girl and four wolves running towards him. "Risser?"
She looked mad.
"Why the FLIP did you attack that village?! I was gonna trade with them!"
Kaine the Enderman stepped in front of Warnado, ready to attack if needed. "Fall back." Warnado looked at Risser. "i don't know. I think I was possessed or something. Does it seem cold out here for you?"
Risser rolled her eyes. "We're in the middle of an ice spikes biome. What do you think?"
"No."
"You're terrible."
"Yes."
Risser frowned. "Where are you going now?"
Warnado pointed at the ice castle. "I have a feeling that someone...or something...is there."
"Why don't you just teleport? You do have an Enderman who's willing to do your bidding."
"Him teleporting is equal to a human pushing a boulder off of themselves with a broken arm. So, he needs to recharge."
Risser nodded. "I'll come with you. I have nothing better to do."
As they neared the base of the mountain that the castle rested on, Warnado noticed an entrance to the Dark Dungeon near the top. However, it had iron bars covering the entrance. And two glowing eyes peered out of the darkness.
Warnado drew his staff. "Is that?..." Risser trailed off.
"Yes." Warnado stared straight into the snake's eyes. "Welcome, Basilisk. It's time to meet your match."
Chapter 27-The Island: Kilster909
Kilster woke up to blinding sunshine. He sat up and gazed at the ocean surrounding him. He was on an island. A sand whirlpool had swept him to an island in the middle of the ocean.
Because, you know, logic.
Kilster stood up, brushing the sand off of himself. He saw that the island was fairly large, but not nearly the size of a biome. It had a jungle area in the middle, and there was smoke coming from it...
Kilster headed into the forest, towards the source of the fire. Another human would be good, and they might have a way off of this place. Hopefully they were friendly. But just in case, Kilster pulled out an iron sword. Once he neared the clearing, he stepped into the firelight.
Two people sat around a fire. Kilster didn't understand why, seeing as it was the middle of the day and at least 80 degrees out. But, they didn't attack as soon as they saw him, so Kilster sheathed his sword. "Who are you?"
"BajanCanadian," a normal-looking guy replied. "Call me Mitch."
"ASFJerome," a Wookie-like guy in a suit (once again, logic) said. "And you are?"
"Kilster909. How did you guys get here? And, um, how do you get off?"
"First question," Jerome answered. "Our boat crashed...I think. I don't know, I forgot."
"Second question," Mitch said. "No flipping clue."
Kilster's stomach growled. "Hey, do you guys know-"
"I'm sorry comrade, I cannot lend you money. I spent it, on submarine." Kilster and Mitch both stared at Jerome.
"You had a submarine this whole time?" Mitch's left eye twitched.
"Yeah."
"THIS WHOLE, FLIPPING TIME?!?!"
"Yes, Mr. Caps Lock."
Mitch lunged at Jerome, and fighting broke out. Meanwhile, Kilster left, eventually finding the submarine resting on the beach. "I hope they don't mind me borrowing this," Kilster smiled, pushing the submarine into the water. He sat in the control console, starting the machine up. I'm coming Proto, Kilster thought. I hope you can hold out.
Chapter 28-Cracked Ice: TurtleMaster217
Turtle sat up in a pool of sweat. He seemed to be okay, but he was sore as crap. He had zero energy, and could barely sit up. What was that spell?
Turtle was in one of the elven treehouses. It had a crafting table, a furnace, a bed (which he was sitting on), a bookshelf crammed with books, and a table with chairs. In one of the corners of the house near the furnace, Lyra sat, frantically sifting through the pages of the Book of Spells. However, she seemed to sense Turtle's awareness, and immediately regained a sense of calmness. "Good morning, hero."
"You don't have to hide your feelings from me. You were worried. What are you looking for?"
Lyra sighed. "How can you do it?"
"Do..what?"
"Use a spell like that without dying?"
"What do you mean?"
Lyra pointed out a window. Although his bones protested, Turtle got up and walked over to the opening. What he saw both amazed him and frightened him.
The village was trapped in a blizzard.
"How did I..."
"The Ring must've protected you. It carries the very essence of Light herself. With it...the world is in your hands. Figuratively, and literally."
Turtle sat down. Now his brain hurt. "I saw something in the fire...before I created this blizzard. It looked like Warnado..."
"The creepy one."
"Yeah. I don't know. The whole reason we went into the Dark Dungeon was to find and kill the Basilisk, but now I'm caught up in this. I don't know where my friends are, or if they're even alive."
"They're safe. I can sense things like that."
"Like Telekinesis?"
Lyra smiled. "Exactly like that." She closed the Book of Spells and tossed it to Turtle, who caught it in both hands. "Look, the reason why I'm here is because of that book. Herobrine wants it desperately, like it's important. I gave it to you because you are a hero. I didn't know who else to trust."
"Where's Rana?"
"I sent her to Notch Island. She'll be safe there. It's me Herobrine wants, and once he learns you have the book..."
"He'll look for me."
She nodded. "There's a legend that was passed down, about a sentient book from long ago. Nobody knows what happened to it, but..."
A knock on the door disrupted their conversation. Lyra opened it, finding Junkboy. "Can you hurry? Samantha is getting impatient..."
Lyra sighed. "Of course she is." Lyra turned to Turtle. "Do you think you can go?"
"I can try."
The gates were covered in snow, and icicles hung from the top. Turtle, Lyra, Samantha, Junkboy, and Celestia gathered there, Samantha carrying a backpack full of stuff they might need. When you're heading into the frost, you never know. "You're not coming?" Turtle asked Lyra.
"Our job was to give you the ring," Lyra said, embracing him. "You can survive on your own."
Samantha shifted uneasily. "Let's go." Turtle nodded, and the two headed out.
After a while, they left the forest and entered an ice spikes biome. "What are we looking for?"
Samantha pointed in the distance at a tall mountain. At the peak, a castle made of ice sat. "That."
They climbed up the slippery trail (it didn't help that it was made out of ice) on their way to the castle. They saw an occasional cave, but nothing attacked them. It was too cold. Suddenly, Turtle stopped. "What?" Turtle looked behind himself and drew Doomsblade.
"Don't even try it."
Warnado threw his snowball off of the mountain. "Why do you always have to ruin stuff?"
"What are you doing here?"
Risser pointed behind Turtle. "Looking for that."
In one a cave-no wait, entrance to the Dark Dungeon-there were two glowing red eyes. The Basilisk sat in wait, held back by iron bars. "How do you like my pet?" the voice from Turtle's nightmares asked.
The Lich strode down the path of the mountain, with three skeletons in tow, one coated in iron. "I was wondering when I was going to meet you, TurtleMaster217. And what a place but here, the place where your Elemental weapon is located?" The Lich snapped his fingers, and two of the skeletons went over to the Dungeon entrance. The iron skeleton whispered something to the Lich.
"It seems that Farash remembers you from the Nether, where that 'hero' Protoshield86 killed the Wither. Now," he smiled, "it is time for your friend here to fight his snake." One of the skeletons placed a lever and pulled it. The iron bars lifted up, and the Basilisk attacked.
Chapter 29-Fangs: TarisserTheWolfy
The skeletons didn't even have time to run.
As Turtle and his friend were dragged away, the Basilisk reared up, chomping on the two skeleton guards. Risser drew a dagger and Warnado drew an enchanted diamond sword. "Finally, a good time to use this!" Warnado announced. "You know, I've had this for almost two months now, yet none of us have used our crap."
"Now isn't the time to talk about Notch and his gifts!" Risser said. "We have bigger problems to worry about. Like a snake. We have bigger snakes to worry about."
"Oh yeah!" Warnado exclaimed. "I forgot."
"You're terrible."
"I know."
The Basilisk snapped at Warnado, who jumped on top of the snake and stabbed his sword. The Basilisk hissed, shaking until Warnado was thrown off, the sword still embedded in the snake. "That's a problem," Warnado said. Kaine grabbed onto Xander and teleported around the snake, with Xander stabbing his stone sword anywhere possible.
"Tell that to your friends!" Risser replied. She circled to the left of the Basilisk, holding on to her dagger. The Basilisk was distracted by the two mobs, so now was Risser's chance to search for weaknesses, like a chink in its scales. However, she saw nothing. "I can't find its weakness!" Risser shouted to Warnado.
"It has to have one! Everyone does! Except for me, because I'm better than everyone!"
"Shut up!"
Just then, the Basilisk got lucky. It sank its teeth into Kaine, who stopped teleporting and fell to the ground, venom seeping through him. Kaine teleported away, leaving Risser, Warnado, and Xander.
The Basilisk finally turned its attention to Risser. She, however, was ready. She stabbed her dagger into the Basilisk's right eye, using the momentum to fling herself upwards and grab Warnado's sword. She threw it to Warnado, who easily caught it. Together, he and Xander started slicing at the now blinded Basilisk, who flung Risser off. It swung its tail, knocking Warnado and Xander over. The Basilisk inched closer to Risser, the dagger still in its eye, as Risser scooted backwards. The Basilisk hissed, then chomped.
Chapter 30-Poisoned: Protoshield86
The Dunecrawler was a sandy color, with beady black eyes. A skull-and-crossbones symbol was tattooed into the giant spider's abdomen. Poison dripped from the Dunecrawler's fangs, creating an ominous red pool that reminded Proto of blood.
Proto pulled out his enchanted sword he had gotten from Notch what felt like ages ago. Surprisingly, he had never used it. Finally, he had a good reason.
Vanessa herself drew an iron sword. The Dunecrawler didn't look fazed at all. Blood, it said. The Blood of my enemies.
"Wait, my pet. We shouldn't get into this just yet."
Herobrine landed on the ground. He had come through an opening in the ceiling. Herobrine brushed himself off. "Proto," he laughed. "Vanessa! Welcome to the Sand Mines of Vertha!"
"Herobrine," Proto growled. "I don't need my friends to defeat you. I'll do it right now."
"Now, now, now," Herobrine grinned. "No need to be cocky. If you knew my power, you would bow to me."
"I would never bow to you."
Herobrine threw up his head and laughed. He laughed for a long time. Vanessa shifted uneasily. Finally, he stopped. "You might not, but she has."
Proto looked at Vanessa. "Always an enemy's tactic. Drive allies against each other."
"Tactic? This isn't a tactic. It is a truth. SHE has been spying on you all along! SHE has been driving your group apart! SHE doesn't love you!"
"You're lying!"
"Proto..." Vanessa warned.
He turned to her. "It can't be true. It can't!"
"Heartache," Herobrine sighed. "I bet you wish you could be anywhere but here. I bet you wish you could know anything but the truth. However, reality is cruel. Even if you wish for illusion, reality will always be there, haunting you, driving you insane. Eventually, people won't accept reality anymore. Instead, the seek illusion. Do you want to know where those people go? They delete themselves from existence. If you go chasing illusion, reality will always catch up."
Vanessa's eyes were full of tears. "Proto, don't listen to him!"
"Your beauty won't trick Proto this time..."
Proto backed up and pointed his sword at Vanessa. Herobrine was right. He would give anything to be back in the minds, unknowing. Vanessa dropped her sword and fell to her kness. "Proto, please..."
"This is taking to long. Kill her, or he will!" Blood... The Dunecrawler hissed.
Proto's mind raced. What should he do? Attack Vanessa, or Herobrine? What about the Dunecrawler?
"Go." The Dunecrawler sank his fangs into Vanessa.
"No!" Proto turned and jumped, trying to sink his sword into Herobrine's skull. Instead, he bounced back, landing on the ground with a sickening crunch. Proto groaned, but go up despite his injuries. He ran toward Vanessa, but the Dunecrawler pounced on him. It hissed. Your blood... The Dunecrawler bit Proto in the neck, and poison seeped through him quicker than a speed potion. Proto's eyes slowly closed, and light enveloped the chamber.
Chapter 31-Shedding Skin: Warnado125
Sure Warnado didn't know Risser that well, but that was no reason to eat her.
"Hang in there, Risser!" Warnado called.
"What the-" (this word was cut out) "-do you think I'm doing?"
"Good point!" Warnado turned to Xander. He seemed to already know the plan. "Let's go!"
Xander ran to the left, and the Basilisk kept its one good eye on it. Warnado readied his staff, waiting for his chance to strike. Xander was about to stab the snake, but it lashed its tongue out, grabbing onto the Wither Skeleton's legs. With its mouth open, Warnado fired a blast from his staff, and it flew in. The Basilisk did a sort of scream-hiss, spitting a glob of poison at Xander. Xander's down, Warnado thought.
Warnado looked at the top of the Basilisk's head. His sword was still lodged in there. If he could just reach it somehow...
The Basilisk then decided it would be a great time to start blowing fire everywhere.
"When the flip did you learn to do that?" Warnado dodged the fire, but he still got seared. "OK, that's it!" Warnado ran towards the Basilisk, who glared at him, ready to strike. It lashed, and Warnado used his staff as a pole-vault, jumping over the Basilisk and grabbing his sword. He slid down the serpent, then stopped in the middle of the beast. "Try something!" he shouted.
The Basilisk lifted its tail, and stabbed. Warnado jumped out of the way as the Basilisk's tail was lodged into the back of itself. The Basilisk did another one of those hiss-screams. Warnado ran towards its mouth, and stabbed his sword through the top. The Basilisk's eye widened, and it finally stopped writhing. Warnado hopped out and fell to the ground. "Hah! Beat that!"
A wave of acid expelled from the Basilisk's mouth, coating Warnado in green goo. Risser also flew out, her clothes steaming. "That acid," she huffed, "is not good for you."
Warnado laughed. "I'm done with snakes for a while."
Chapter 32-Overwhelming Light: Kilster909
The submarine sped to shore, Kilster doing everything he could to keep it afloat. Those island guys didn't keep their stuff in good shape. It crashed into land, and Kilster flew out through the windshield, landing face-first in the sand. He stood up and brushed himself off.
"Proto!" he shouted. "Vanessa! Where are you?!"
Kilster was thirsty. He walked through the sandy biome, looking for any sign of civilization, whether it be that village or the sand mines. Eventually he came across a desert well. "Water!" Kilster ran to the edge, but jumped as someone popped his head out of the well, gasping for air.
"Proto?"
"Vanessa!"
Kilster's eye twitched. "Man, you got that wrong."
"Where...am I?"
"Vertha."
"Where's the Dunecrawler? Herobrine? Vanessa?"
"I have no clue what you're talking about."
"I...died."
Kilster was startled. "Died? What're you talking about? Herobrine changed the system, made it Hardcore. If you're dead, you're dead. How are you still here?"
Proto shook his head. "There was...light. Overwhelming light."
Kilster looked around. "We have to get you to Notch."
Chapter 33-A Cold World: TurtleMaster217
When the door closed behind him, Turtle panicked.
According to the Lich, this chamber was known as the Illusion Chamber. Roughly circular, the room was cold. It would've been dark, but a light show that resembled the northern lights pulsed throughout the chamber. In the dead center, a statue holding a bow could be observed. The statue was strange, but the bow was even stranger. It was white, with light blue markings. It radiated power, just like Doomsblade.
The bow was Frostwing, the bow of Ice.
Cautiously, Turtle approached the statue. There had bound to be traps guarding such a powerful and ancient artifact. However, there were no pressure plates or tripwires to be activated. Turtle made it across the room, in no way harmed.
But he did feel like he was being watched.
Turtle observed the statue. It was carved in the image of a knight, and in great detail. Colors matching the bow it was holding donned the armor. Turtle frowned. It couldn't be that easy.
Then the knight tilted its head.
Turtle jumped back, drawing Doomsblade. The knight became loose, holding Frostwing at its side. It stared at Turtle, and for a minute, no one moved. "TurtleMaster217. Elemental of Ice."
Turtle was surprised. "You can talk?"
"I am the Frost Knight," the figure announced. "And this," he held up Frostwing, "is yours." The Frost Knight held out the bow. Turtle once again proceeded with caution.
"How do I know I can trust you?"
"If I was to attack, I would have done it already, and you would be lying in a pool of blood. Now, take this bow. I'm sure your friend could use your help."
Turtle smiled, then took the bow. "And she's gonna get it."
How it was possible, Turtle didn't know.
But somehow, Samantha had broken free of the Lich's chains, and was single-handedly fighting off an army of skeletons. Turtle stood at the top of one of the turrets. He had killed a skeleton, and looted it of its arrows. Turtle pulled out Frostwing, nocking an arrow. The arrow immediately turned blue, and was imbued with the power of Ice.
Turtle fired an arrow at one of the skeletons attacking Samantha. Where it struck, spikes grew out. The skeletons fell to the ground. Turtle laughed and started firing more arrows into the crowd. Eventually, his luck ran out.
A force from behind pushed him off of the turret and into the courtyard where the battle was happening. Turtle groaned, and scrambled out of the way as a skeleton almost landed on top of him. The skeleton was coated in an iron exoskeleton.
"Hey!" Turtle said. "I remember you! You caught us in the Nether and brought us to the Wither!"
"Oh, yes. That was quite fun. But then your friend had to break you all free and have you escape."
"How are you here?"
The iron skeleton pointed a bony finger. Turtle followed it, and witnessed a Nether Portal. The iron skeleton jumped on top of him. "Shouldn't have looked away." He raised his sword to strike, but Samantha tackled him off.
"Close the portal!" Samantha shouted. "You can't let the Lich gather reinforcements!"
"Oh, yes," The Lich said, lifting Turtle up by the neck. "We wouldn't want that, would we? Here, I'll give you a head start." The Lich threw Turtle across the courtyard, where he landed against the back of the portal. His left arm snapped, and went limp inside the portal.
The Lich walked over to Turtle, who couldn't get up. "You don't seem to have a diamond pickaxe on you...I guess we'll have to improvise." The Lich charged an energy beam in his scepter, then took aim. "Goodbye, Turtle." He shot, and the portal closed on Turtle's arm.
The energy released when the portal closed fought with the energy from the Ring of Light. The skin burnt off of Turtle's arm, leaving only bone. The last thing Turtle remembered before blacking out was Samantha screaming his name and the Lich stabbing his scepter into the ground as Turtle fell through the air, with only one thought.
Chapter 15 is pointless and will probably make many of you want to leave. I understand. But this is the only pointless chapter in the entire series. Trust me, by the end of the book, you won't even remember how pointless Chapter 15 was.

Chapter 1-I Hate this Guy: Warnado125
Let's go!"
Without any torches, how are we supposed to find said chest?"
Easy, a voice said.
Revenge.
It also had a tattoo on its side, which read:
Warnado Inc.
Kill her, or he will!"
Blood...
"Proto!" he shouted. "Vanessa! Where are you?!"
Kilster was thirsty. He walked through the sandy biome, looking for any sign of civilization, whether it be that village or the sand mines. Eventually he came across a desert well. "Water!" Kilster ran to the edge, but jumped as someone popped his head out of the well, gasping for air.
"Proto?"
"Vanessa!"
Kilster's eye twitched. "Man, you got that wrong."
"Where...am I?"
"Vertha."
"Where's the Dunecrawler? Herobrine? Vanessa?"
"I have no clue what you're talking about."
"I...died."
Kilster was startled. "Died? What're you talking about? Herobrine changed the system, made it Hardcore. If you're dead, you're dead. How are you still here?"
Proto shook his head. "There was...light. Overwhelming light."
Kilster looked around. "We have to get you to Notch."
Water.
