Chapter 1:
The day was a new day, and a fine one at that, for Stan was going out on his first trip to the crystal caverns. A mythed place of greed, the caverns were said to hold many notable beasts. The local Village had been going out on the trip on request of Vacium, the village's head minister.
Although Stan, his mom, and his Father, Joseph, didn't live in the nearby village they were forced by the minister to have him come along. Stan himself was excited but his parents weren't they feared the caverns and would rather die then send him, but they had no choice. So when Stan's father, Joseph, was getting ready to work in the mines, Stan was getting ready to go to the caverns.
Joseph left Stan with a firm hug, for he feared for his life, but he finally left after what Stan considered an uncomfortable amount of time. Finishing up his mushroom stew Stan ran out the door to excited to say "Bye mom!"
Staying to the trail Stan's mom had always told him to stay on he walked down to the local village, where he found the priest. Asking the priest where to go, Stan soon learned that they party had already left!
Stan rushed down the trail, trying to catch up to the group, but by the time he got to the caverns, he only could find the lunch sacks sat down by the tunnel entrance. He figured they had already gone and foolishly didn't look under the tree far to his left, for if he had he would have found a small group of kids enjoying small sponge cakes. Instead he ran in and started listening to see if he could hear them inside. He quickly heard a girl say "Help!" He ran towards the direction of the sound but tripped and fell into heap on the floor. He looked up just now realizing the true beauty of the caverns. The walls shined, and shimmered purple and blue, and ores unlike those Stan had never seen before stuck out this way and that.
That's when Stan heard the noises, looking around he heard screeching, and echos, and monstrous things to give you nightmares. Stan got up and ran, he didn't know where, but he ran. Stan was scared, more than he ever had been. So he ran, and ran, until he was hit.
Stan's temple hurt, and he felt dizzy, slowly he crumpled on the ground, and the last thing he saw was two purple eyes looking ahead at what ever had hit him upon the head.
